Honestly that is the worst thing about all of this. See this guy runs a marketing firm, his company does not actually make the controller. But the company who hired him is getting some of the hate for him being bad at his job. And they do not deserve that. Will they use a different firm from now on? No doubt. But they do not deserve to lose sales because this guy was an ass.
The company that makes the controller made a calculated risk in hiring this guy, they deserve everything they get. Spend peanuts, get monkeys.
No, it was not a calculated risk. That implies there was a good chance (even 1% is good in this instance) of something bad happening. They hired a "Professional" Firm to do marketing for them. Now the original manufacturer has to go to court and sue this PR firm. Much time trouble and expense.
It was totally a calculated risk, one that should have been highlighted by the fact that their other PR firm dropped them after REPEATEDLY COMPLAINING TO THEIR CLIENT THAT CHRISTOFORONO WAS COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Wowza!

That is some serious shit! Total bullshit, yet serous at the same time.

"I do run Pax, but I also run a website called penny arcade. It?s kinda popular."

LMFAO

and to everyone saying this customer service guy doesn't deserve to have his life ruined

He brought this on himself by:

A: Running he mouth, like he's a tough guy.

B: When proven that he was actually a little weakling, he ran his mouth off to the site owner and the person who runs PAX

C: Realizing what a moron on he was being, he backed out. When he should have done that in the first place.
Please read what you wrote again. He deserves to have his "life ruined" for that? Youve NEVER run your mouth ever? Youve never got mad and said stupid shit? Youve never had to apoligise? If the answer to any of these is no go ruin your own life. Its only fair. Or provide me with personal details so i can fairly ruin your life please. Id like telephone numbers, emails and addresses please. Can you post them? Thanks in advance, im sure B will happily ruin your life for you. Justice can be restored! It will also help if you describe the time you once accidently were a douche. That would be great.

This guy was an asshole. He deserves to be fired. But this is too far. We have become the bullies. Christ people can be dicks, but this is far worse than what he did. People trying to ruin him should be ashamed. Ashamed. You are worse than him by a fair margin. What he did was heat of the moment assholery. What you are doing is sadistic and unneccessary. The inernet and nerds in general are bad at this, me included. We pounce on a single person and RUIN them totally out of proprortion. Its sick. Its wrong, and its fucking disgustingly hypocritical. You just want petty revenge because assholes like this guy have been dicks to you (not you mr quotee just everyone) and this is NOT the way to maturely deal with it.

Grow up internet. Logde complaints to the company. Dont ruin his life. Dont ruin the product. How OLD are you people? Christ. Im fucking sickened by this. Sickened. Everyone trying to ruin him should be ashamed. He deserves to lose his job as hes evidently crap at it. But he doesnt deserve other shit. Nor does the company.

"LoganWestbrook Logan Westbrook
@vmearl [Because] he knows how many fans PA has and he knows how they will react when properly motivated."

"LoganWestbrook Logan Westbrook
RT @aegies we should definitely try to ruin someone's life because of bad customer service. totally."

"LoganWestbrook Logan Westbrook
@vmearl So do I, but it's the company's job to discipline him, not the internet's."

"LoganWestbrook Logan Westbrook
@devilherdue Geeks have a real issue with bullying and being bullies. It's a shame we aren't more aware of how we interact with others."
this man deserves everything that comes to him as it has always been my beleif stupid should hurt or at least have consequences. Just so you know this man can a should be tried and sent to jail for what hes done.

If he were truly apologetic, I'd have some sympathy for Paul. If Paul had a history of this and he was just recently brought on as PR/Marketting (sic), then I'd have sympathy for N-Controller. Seeing as how he's been with them for over 8 months, I don't have sympathy for either and the more I think about it the more it really annoys me that N-Controller keeps trying to say "It isn't our fault."

Shipping/Manufacturing failures are N-Controller's problem, and that alone would be enough for me to not order them. Sure they might be neat, but if supply is that scarce, I personally could go without. In the end that means those that really want to keep putting up with these delays or literally can't play without that assistance will get one before I do, and that's okay.

Paul and Ocean Marketting happens to be the worst in marketting, but N-Controller doesn't seem to be a great company that can keep it's commitments either.

Seriously I think people need to direct their anger towards just him not the actual product. He didn't invent it and bombing the actual product isn't hurting him it's hurting the folks who came up with the product...for disabled gamers.

I can only assume hackers are working as we speak to ruin the guy's life even further. Then again one of the few things that gets under my skin is shitty customer service. When I sell and buy stuff on ebay and half.com I have a simple motto don't ***k with my money and don't waste my time. In turn I do my damndest to do the same. He played around with peoples money and wasted their time so he deserves the internet's rage.

But seriously threatening his wife and child is a bit much, though I did laugh because I recalled the episode of South Park where Cartman ruins a kids life because he tricked him out of his money.

I'm not particularly at the ready to believe that people are targeting his wife and kid to the extreme he's trying to pull. Yes there's probably a poke here and there, but others have observed that he seemed quick to use them to shield himself.

He's done this shit before, there's just nothing redeemable about his behavior. And his kid has bigger problems than some collateral internet hate - he's going to be raised by fucking Brucie from GTA 4.

For bad PR? Maybe hes done other things. But as bystanders on the internet it is not our place to punish someone for illegal activities. It is the courts and the llegal system. As of now he will be punished in two ways, one by us vigilante justice, and one by the courts. This isnt right, it isnt our place to dole out punishment.

Stupid should hurt. He was fired. He has terrible terrible reputation. But to ruin his life is just OTT. Have you EVER run your mouth? Ever? You have, if you say no youre a liar. Youve said stupid shit. And although it damaged your reputation you most certainly didnt expect everyone who tangentally heard about the issue to go and "ruin your life".

He deserves some of whats coming to him, the proper llegal punishment. But not random internet attack. Thats just pointless.

Yeah. I'm surprised he didn't delete it...
This is slander. Ocean stretagy isnt him. Its someone pretending to be him and saying things to make him look bad. People IN THIS THREAD believe it. This is illegal. This is sick. Look at the lengths people are going to increminate him, even pretending to say illegal things to rile up more hatred. Doesnt that strike you as fucked up?

I'm pretty surprised that he continues to lie on the msnbc interview about 'things that Mike said' that anyone who actually read the transcript could tell was a lie.

Saying that mike came at him aggressively.. complete lie.

He's a con man...why do you have sympathy for him?! This isn't a case of some random CS dude getting to the end of his rope.

His whole operation is completely fake. He has no employees, his website is plagiarised from somewhere else... He's been ripping off companies by representing them with poor quality customer service never mind treating the actual customers like crap. What part of that do you not think is reprehensible.

The ''internet'' isn't doing anything that Watchdog on the BBC hasn't been doing for years...

That's why it's so easy to believe. I mean, a guy who threatened to sell a dude's controllers on ebay sounds like a guy who would screw with your CC info.

Because even conmen dont deserve people lying about things they have said to further incriminate him. Thats just stupid. And since when did watchdog purposefully spread lies about someone to make them look worse?

Hes an asshole. I hate the guy. But its not my place or job to punish him, spread slander, rumors, or make up things hes done wrong. Nor is it my place to spread hatred for him on the net. We dont know shit about what hes done (ive seen allegations of wife beating) and to do this is reprehensable. Is it right to be a witness in a court for a murder and then lie that the murderer said things he didnt? No. It isnt right. He might be a douche but i dont think its ok to descend like a pack of rabid wolves and make shit up just to incriminate him. Hes been fired, his reputation is ruined, he will be sued for the theft of ideas. Justice will be done without the internet mob. To intervine and do more is unneccessary, i take particular issue to the lying about shit hes apparently said and spreading mis information. Thats fucked up.

Even dicks have rights.

Thing is if it wasn't for the internet mob he would never have been caught...

I agree that people are taking it too far with pretending to be him but even in this thread it was only up a little while before someone pointed out it was a troll so I doubt the police wouldn't be able to find that out either. Unfortunately people will make jokes about things like this, just as they made jokes about George Micheal being caught in that bathroom or David Hasselhoff drunkenly munching on his burger. It's inevitable.

Don't defend this guy, seriously he isn't worth it and it just makes you look like you agree with what he's been up too.

Even Atticus Finch would make this guy plead guilty...

Caught? Dave emailed several news outlets, and he was "caught" because he brought it to their attention. Not to ours. Theirs. Our mob did nothing but watch and call names.

And honestly if anyone can read the words I dont agree with this guy, i despise him, hes a dick, but i feel that we are taking this too far and still think i agree with him they live in a world of bizare and rediculous absolutes. Its called middle ground, a lot of people live here, its actually rather nice.

Mob justice doesnt hold sway, Atticus kept the judgement of the man in the court. Not outside the court if you remember. His punishment (though unjust) was decided in a formal court of law, not an unruly mob.

And also parody is obvious mimicing someone in an abstract way for humor. Slander is taking a name VERY similar and posting threats the original person would never have made.

If i sent a letter signed with your full name threatening to smash someones windows thats NOT parody. Thats just slander plain and simple. Parody is where its obviously me mimicing you in a comedic nature. Not me claiming to be you in a ski mask stealing from people.

Uggg, I'm going to have to be fair here. assuming it IS slander, which goes against my prior post....

xXxJessicaxXx said:

Because the law doesn't just protect people you like from slander. It protects everyone.

Just because someone's a bad person doesn't mean you get to say whatever you want about him.

His whole operation is completely fake. He has no employees, his website is plagiarised from somewhere else... He's been ripping off companies by representing them with poor quality customer service never mind treating the actual customers like crap. What part of that do you not think is reprehensible.
Ah. So two wrongs make a right.

The ''internet'' isn't doing anything that Watchdog on the BBC hasn't been doing for years...
Never watched Watchdog, but to my understanding of the programming, they don't lie or mislead viewers like this. They raise awareness of what someone has done, not make up stuff they haven't and try and hang 'em for it.

Please, by all means, if Watchdog is dishonest and makes things up and crusades against that, let me know.

You know, it occurs to me that if you want something to attack him over, you have several things. Hell, you yourself mentioned them. So why do you even need to make stuff up about him to nail him?

Justice only works if it protects everyone. Justifying something that could well get him in criminal trouble, even temporarily, is validating some of the same tactics he used under the purview of "hey, he was asking for it."

And before anyone gets on my ass for this, I'm just going to point out I don't like the guy or even want to defend him, but that doesn't make it right to just go making crap up about him.
