Hey, don't hate on 2Fort, it's the best map for trolling/dominating trash Snipers.

I know that map so well in every dimension that even if my eyes are poked out I would get atleast 10 frags.

Why all the hate for 2Fort? It's a Medic, Engie, Spy paradise.

Give me a row of snipers and I'll show you a Australian Shish Kebab.

Apparently Perfect Dark and Goldeneye shared some levels... :p

OT: I don't really play online FPS, but knowing people that do, I assume it's because they like to have the most hardcore fights where they can prove how mega awesome they are. There will always be mass favourites, sometimes based on other criteria, but I'd imagine mostly this
As far as I know it shared one. On Perfect dark they called it 'Felicity'.

There was a point when playing TF2 years ago when the only map any decent server did was Goldrush (Is that the one I mean? The original payload map?). It got so sickening. That's one of the many reasons I stopped playing.

Meh, 2Fort doesn't bother me. Of course, I know how to play Scout. Abuse Bonk and look for every exit point. That's all I'm going to tell you.

Motherfucking Sword Base. All that ever happens on that map is that one person camps in that damn room with either the energy sword or the shotgun and everyone else runs there like the idiots they are and get themselves killed. Seriously, is it that hard to understand that you should stay the hell away from there?

Vantage Point (I may be wrong about the name) in Bad Company 2: Vietnam, especially on Rush mode. The first stage is horrendously difficult for the attackers, since the defenders get the high ground from the start. Ironically, the 2nd and 3rd stages are then too easy for the attackers, since the defenders spawn too far off and the Mcoms are in generally shit positions.

Ever notice how in multiplayer games there are certain maps that are played so often that you get sick of them? Sometimes it gets so bad that there are dedicated servers running said maps 24/7.

What's your favorite multiplayer titles that suffer from this? I'll start it off with two examples:

Team Fortress 2: 2Fort. God, I hate 2Fort. The battlements are plagued with Snipers, and the entrances to the intel room are narrow chokepoints, perfect for Engineers to turtle with their sentry guns. Because of this, the match frequently ends with a stalemate.

Halo Reach: Sword Base. It mystifies me why this one is so popular, as the map itself is boring as hell. It's just a three story complex made entirely of rectangles and bridges. It's frustrating watching it win the map vote time after time, particularly if there are more interesting maps to choose from like Powerhouse.
If you really think about it, 2fort and Sword Base are the same damn thing. Apparently idiots have a taste for symmetry.

For me, I LOATHE Crisis on COD: BlOps. I just think it's a terribly designed map.

Not really a level, but, GTA4 - THERE ARE OTHER PLACES OTHER THAN THE AIRPORT
I like the glitched swingset, personally. Sends my car flying. And the skate bown under the southern bridge in Algonquin.

Back on topic,

The Blood Gulch remake in Reach.

It's a terrible map for anything but CTF, really.

For me, it has to be in the Source mod Zombie Panic [http://store.steampowered.com/app/17500/?snr=1_4_4__13]. Lake of Legends, or Cabins. Basically a collection of houses that survivors have to defend from player zombies until the time expires. It's so overplayed and over rated.

If you're a fan of source mods, and haven't played this one, go play it. It's free and bloody fantastic. It's the only multiplayer shooter I've played for years and every week.

Crossfire - only good gamemode on this is domination, and even that is barely balanced enough to be any fun.

Shipment - yeeeeeeah... 3x frag anyone?

CoD4 by the way, for those who never played it
Yeah, Crossfire was pretty stupid, even for domination, I'd say. As for Shipment: ARE YOU Kidding? It's hilarious too play shipment with 3x nades, Martyrdom, and only shotguns, aka, Shit blows Up! I play that once in a while with my friends over LAN; hilarity ensues.

But i guess it wouldn't be as fun online.

I don't think 2Fort is that bad if you have a competent team. If you're having trouble, I would run with a soldier, medic, heavy, then a demo or a spy. Spies can be wonderful traveling with a group, as they can sap sentries, scout hallways, and get opportunity backstabs on distracted players.

I think Offblast or Nucleus are both miserable Arena maps on TF2. Moreso than Watchtower.

That Castel Gandolfo map from AC Bro, It's just a medium sized manor with a tiny garden. All I play is Manhunt and the running team may as well have a giant sign over their heads saying "I AM IN THIS CROWD OF PEOPLE, THROW FIRECRACKERS AT ME!"

There's nothing wrong with it, but I don't get why everyone seems to choose 'The Village' in competitive matches in Uncharted 2 every single time it appears. I mean just why?
I usually find people skip it, which annoys me because I really like it. Good for elimination games. Same with Foundry in AVP, but I guess people just got sick of that one after the demo, even though it's the best map for Aliens.

Maps I hate though include Attacama Desert (oh god, the sunlight!!!) and Laguna Presa (shit, where's the cover??!!)in BC2 and Hill 137 (for the Veitcong) in Veitnam, Blood Gracht (for the Helgans) in Killzone 2, The Plaza in Uncharted 2 (too much debris) and Northern Bridge, Eucadia in Warhawk, because of the base raping.
