Zangief.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Seriously, if he uses that freaking ignore-all-defenses spinning pile driver EVER again, I will set Capcom on fire. Multiple times.
Zangief is a horrible little character all those wake up grabs and body hairs. HAVE YOU SEEN how much damage his super does? Whenever I know I'm facing him I go Ken so I can counter him with some scummy wake up Shoryukens.
You should try approaching him as Adon. Your main tools to get in are a fast walk speed, which is obviously risky against 'Gief, and Jaguar Kick. Which is -1 on block.

I'm going to also say M. Bison (Dictator). I just... don't get him. I have no idea how to fight him at all! Even the worst players stomp me! >.<

Edit: My grammar is terrible.
I refuse to go Adon.

He revolts me.

He looks terrible and he is stressful to play. That and if your opponent is Ryu or Ken you may as well give up due to the hideous amount of Shoryukens you are about to take.

M.Bison YES another hideous little man. The move where he jumps on your head especially stresses me out.

Nidalee. Especially in ARAM.
The PPSH spam cannon was also the bane of my existence in RO:Ostfront, while I preferred the more finessed PPD or PPS43

Generally, any character in League of Legends that "scales well" (IE becomes ridiculously powerful after a few item upgrades) or are "good in early game" (IE is ridiculously powerful until you yourself get a few item upgrades).

There's quite a long list of them, like Akali, Jax, Katarina, and Kayle in the former camp, and Xin Zhao, Nunu and Lee Sin in the latter - just to name a few.

Gotta love how teemo can do anything but tank
He's often considered one of the best tanks in the game, because EVERYONE HATES HIM and will try to kill him on sight, meaning he's great at baiting and distracting people in team fights, and combined with his Move Quick and Blinding Dart he can stay alive deceptively long.

I'll admit, i'm not a strong fighting game player, so the vast majority of my losses are deserved, but anyone picking Jin is just going to spam that one attack over and over and over again.

Oddjob from Goldeneye. I don't think I need to go into too much detail here. You can't shoot that short little fuck!
I had someone throw his hat at me from one side of the snow lodge to the other in Nightfire. Like, down an entire mountainside. FUCK.
Funny story about that, the same thing happened to me and my friend while playing that game. I was Oddjob, he, well, wasn't. We were on opposite sides of the map taking potshots at each other, and I threw the hat when I ran out of ammo right before I went to get more. Few seconds later, my friend is like 'What the hell is that black thin-*killed* WHAT THE F***!!!'

I was laughing my ass off and prostrating my sudden 1337 skills, but then I did it again...and again...we were both confused, because I know for a fact that one of those times, my cursor was considerably off from where he was, but the hat still hit him. We tried once more, with him staying still, and my cursor clearly not exactly on him, and it hit him.

Oddjob's hat homes in over long distances in Nightfire. It doesn't at short range, but over long range, it starts to have homing capabilities.

OT: I still don't like fighting Pit in SSBB. While the debate over who is broken and who isn't is something that changes over time as fans start finding different methods of dealing things, I still think Pit is a n00b character that takes no skill to use. Yeah, he can be fun to play as, but I hardly think you ever need to try with him.

SHAO KAHN (MK9 specifically)

How do I even begin? He has an unblockable hammer throw that takes away about 20% of your health, he is armoured on EVERY SINGLE ATTACK, takes only half damage, deals double damage, has a super move that does about 65% damage, and taunts you roughly every five seconds. (In one game he also heals from taunting too). I have to fight him in tag matches with nooB saiboT for fear of going insane from rage.
That's the one thing that's the worst. How they can randomly shrug off attacks and keep going with theirs. So TERRIBLE. Who thought that was a good idea? WHO?

Presumably the evil spawn of satan, who ever thought cassowaries should be a thing and an EA exec.

OP: yoshi from ssbb. A friend of mine used to always pick him and then and turn us into eggs then dive off a cliff so when we hatched he would escape while we fell to our deaths.

I was thinking the other day in competitive games there are always characters or sides that you hate to face more than any other either because they are your bane or you just hate them for some reason so what are yours?

My one is probably Mitsurugi in the Soul Calibur series I can beat him with my main but otherwise he gives me so much trouble the dude just seems to have it all strength speed and technique and it gives me more headaches than any other character.
The Star Wars characters in Soul Calibur IV. When playing offline (never played online). Seriously, that overpowered Apprentice literally means I never want to play the game now. You HAVE to fight him on arcade mode (the only mode I ever care about in a fighting game), and he's always waaay too hard, and he's got NOTHING to do with the series.

Whoever chose to have those characters in SCIV deserves to have a sledgehammer to their face.
Oh dear god I forgot about him and also Yoda who is frikkin unthrowable and I cant help doing throw on reaction sometimes, oh and my horizontal moves go above his head hes annoying as hell to face with Astaroth.

I hate guest characters in Soul Calibur ever since 2 onwards they havent all been awful but I wish they would get rid of them although the original created characters like they had in 4 from various artists was fun.

If they continue improving the create a soul mode then guest characters will be unneeded anyway. I just wish they would show the series some love instead of giving it all to Tekken. I think its mainly because SC is more popular overseas rather than Japan. Still the last one did pretty good despite them rushing its development and slashing its budget so hopefully SC6 will be released and get some love.

Ive been on a Moba streak for the last couple of weeks and two I can think of include Loki in smite (who can 3 shot anything even if you build high protection) and the Veteran (whos a grapple master) in Super monday night combat. Back when I played LoL it was the dark angel, Morgana I think was her name? She just seemed a bit OP to me

From fighting games, Injustice is really the only game I played recently and Deathstrokes one I often have to be cautious of. I personally play bane in that game because everyone calls him useless and I like to be an underdog

Voldo. Like...seriously, fuck him and anyone who uses him. I just can't even. He might take a slight bit of work to learn his ins and outs, but quickly becomes the most insufferable wriggling leech. He's fast as shit, has weird combos, he can block from his back, at least half of his combo attacks take place on the ground, making half of other character's combos basically ineffectual, top that all off with the oddness and disgust of a hissing, wrinkled old contortionist with a BDSM fetish, and you have Voldo.

I hate him. And anyone who is good with him. Because the majority of the time I've run into Voldo players, they never use anybody else.

haven't read the whole thread, but generally Eddie Gordo or Julia from Tekken, you know why, except in Tekken Revolution where, mercifully, he's not playable, in that it's either Lars or Kazuya

I really hate Shang tsung, from mk9, especially the guy I just fought, who just spammed fireballs and some cheap combo that full screened me.

There is also quan chi, but he gets a free ride because his one of his moves (his grab I think) makes him lean you over and explode a skull in your sensitive area, which I find funny for some reason.

Something of a strange example I have is Kirby from Melee. A decade ago me and my two brothers played that game to death and either because I wasn't that great or my brothers were actually that great, i'd mostly place second or third. However whenever my eldest brother picked Kirby I knew I would be dead much faster than usual. While Kirby is apparently a bad character in melee he still had his strengths. That mainly being sucking and opponent up, jumping off of a ledge, spitting them out and floating back up again and again.

Captcha: Look before crossing - in the vid, the Romans did not!
Wow. I never played vanilla or BI long enough to see berserkers, always just skipped to EB.

Do you remember the Kensai from Shogun? Those guys were fucking ridiculous.
I once played campaign where I didn't expand at all from my initial holdings until I built a full stack of those guys. Easiest campaign I've ever played.

Also, Legendary Geisha. Fuck, those were OP. Could wipe out every single clan all on their own.

Several people in Awesomenauts make me cringe or do other various noises. Here they are in ascending order.

Froggy G - Hideous, can run away while being totally invisible, and the people playing him tend to be the usual "Cowards unless they have a gaurenteed victory and even then they can screw it up" type.

Coco - Has debilitiating thunder trails, is fast, and her massive heavy hitter Thunderball attack is way, WAY stronger than it needs to be. When I went into a cheering and laughing fit when I SUCCESSFULLY KILLED HER, after 20 hours of accumulated time, that's not a good sign.

But by far the worst is Raelynn - anyone who has played Awesomenauts will know exactly what I'm on about, but if not...Every 6-8 seconds or so she can bust out a massive Sniper shot.

Well, I say Sniper Shot theoreticly. It's closer to a goddamn Ion Cannon. It has a massive red line telegraph, but there's one significant problem - People can press the fire button again to fire it early. So, unpredictable, horrificly powerful, usable very often, and can blast you into peices before you even see her.

I know she's basically meant to be a cryo-frozen, female Sniper from TF2, but dear god, why.

Politoed in competitive Pokemon.

90% of teams that run Politoed just go ahead and spam the biggest attackers in the game. Which then leads to everyone else picking out 6 counters to those guys and calling it a day. And the next thing you know, everyone has one of two freaking teams, and every match is exactly the same as one of the two before it.

I hate Politoed.
Politioed? Is there some awsome politoed strategy i am unaware of?
I'm not sure how much you know about Pokemon, but Politoed got the Drizzle Ability, which lets you bring in rain. Since Rain boosts the damage from water attacks and Thunder and Hurricane never miss, people end up spamming stuff like Keldeo, Dragonite, Toxicroak etc. Basically, every team these days either has these guys or is purpose built to beat them, which means that everyone ends up using the same few pokemon.

Didn't know SCV was rushed in development, but that would explain a few things. Not played that game, but I've gotten word it's a lot more balanced than SCIV.

Indeed, I too don't like the guest starts. Kratos in Broken Destiny was ok though, and that character from Assassin's Creed looks to fit the roster quite well, but still...

Yeah they just seem to treat the series like shit for some reason SC5 was supposed to be Soul Blade 2 originally but then that idea was changed by the higher ups who just wanted a new game out as soon as possible hence its ridiculously rushed development leading to its lack of modes in comparison to previous entries and its confused and recycled character roster.

Still at least they concentrated on the gameplay, online and create a soul modes and they did good there. Balance wise its a lot better than 4 and 3 I also like the fighting better than 2 but SC1 still takes it for me overall fighting wise. Some complain about the stripped back moveset but I welcomed a lot of it as it took it back to its roots more and got rid of a load of unneeded fat imo.

As for the budget a lot of what was originally designated to the project was apparently taken and given to Tekken instead which would further explain its disappointing single player and smaller roster.

Hopefully the new characters will be ripped out next game and be replaced with their superior incarnations from the series, or they actually make a Soul Edge 2 and have a brand new cast for the most part thats well designed and liked i.e none of the new ones from SCV.
