OK, who NEVER found Dogmeat in Fallout 3?

I found him with my second character by accident.

He then died when a giant mutant bear ate him.

I havnt found him by myself, but when my brother was helping me find the alien blaster when I bought it for my ps3 he gave me the wrong directions and I came to the junkyard, then he told me to go in for dogmeat while I was already there.

I found him and he ran into a missile I shot at an Outcast. To hell with Dogmeat.

Initially dog meat is in the scrapyard by default, if by chance you pass by the scrapyard and manage to miss dog meat he will become a random encounter.

I found him, and then he died, kept him for quite a while though... a group of Super Mutants, about 5 of them, including a master. One had a rocket launcher, one had a minigun, two had hammers, and one had a hunting rifle. I was next to a couple of cars, there was a few explosions...

found him when I was lookin for that guy who buys ears....I think.....then he died and I dont get the whole puppies perk deal.

I was so protective of Dogmeat. Then he was killed by a raider. A RAIDER! I lost all respect for Dogmeat. And all I have to remeber him by is . . . some dogmeat.

I found him, we were companions for many a day. Then I went into a dark dangerous place and sent him back to vault 101 where he would be safe. On my return journey to the vault I got the dreaded message "Dogmeat has died". I turned around and saw his corpse beside that of a giant radscorpion.

So yeah, I found him and spent a long while trying to keep the darned dog safe, and then he mysteriously reappeared only to die. T'was a sad day.

He is waiting in my house until I get teh puppies perk, I didn't want him to die

I found him in Minefield, where he proceeded to attack me. I knocked him unconscious and ran away. Never saw him again.

Fallout is full of bugs, but I never heard of this one.

Nope, but it is really worth the effort? Is Dogmeat particularly good?

It's not really the combat, it's the Mad Max-esque "I'm a loner with my dog" feeling, the companionship, the little furry friend who occasionally surprises you with his usefulness...As mentioned before, he searches for ammo and weaponry and such, but he's just...

He's a dog, why wouldn't you want a dog? ._.

I have yet to find Dogmeat, and I'm pretty sure I've found most everything else in the damn game. Been walking around with Charon for quite a bit, and I have a crazy collection of Power Armors in various flavors.

I'm not continuing to Broken Steel material until I've found the damn dog. >_>

Nope, but it is really worth the effort? Is Dogmeat particularly good?

He can take weapons from locked containers, and he's useful if you're trying to get the firelance.(firelance is a unique, stronger alien blaster that randomly drops from the sky)

I never found him. I knew where he was, just didn't bother to go over and get him. Did have Fawkes though.

Although he's rather useless as a follower, it's quite nice to talk to him and his ammo finding abilities are quite useful.

Also, once you max out your stats every monster becomes target practice. But with Dogmeat around, you actually have someone to protect.

I didn't until late in the game, I just killed him.. Worthless companion
