I played and am looking for a browser-based sci-fi multiplayer (MMO ?) that you leveled up Mechs (Robots/Ships ?). You can buy multiple mechs and you would train them and could fight other players. Time frame from when I, could have, played is 2004-2009 from what I can recall.
The game had its own website, meaning that's where you played it. It was all text and pictures, no animations. And, what I like the best, an active stock market. The game had some sort of limit on turns you can play, I believe, but you can still buy and sell from the in-game stock market. I am not sure if the in-game stocks were based on real stocks, but this is why I want to find this game (or what happened to it).
The core game to level up the mech (or whatever) was fun but it was very interesting to have an active stock market that you could invest in, with all those ups and downs. It had Starcraft 1 like graphics, as best as I can remember and describe, not cartoony. The layout when you logged in was typical, the left panel was your character and stats, top bar(s) place to go and links to commonplace, the middle had the main text and pictures for your current location/action result, the right side was chat and news.
It was made, assumingly, for teens and older, not a simple kids game. Funny thing about this game, I forgot about it twice. the last time I did remember and was able to login to my old account, to find out I made a bunch on the in-game stock market.
