Well, I didn't say that it is just a strategy game. It is a TURN-BASED strategy game. Here's an example: Space Empires IV.Roman78 said:There are lot's of those kind of games, like: Caesar, Age of Empires, Settlers and more. I would say we need a little more information.OldGamingPlayer said:No, sorry, The game i played was waaaay different from Sid Meier's Civilizations.Roman78 said:May be Sid Meier's CivilizationsOldGamingPlayer said:Hello all, i am new to Escapist. Here's the game i played, but can't remember the name of: It was a turn-based strategy game. I also know that it contained some words about "settlers" or "civilization"(i don't remember exactly). I don't know if it was realy old. That's all i remember about it. I hope someone can help.
Sorry for bad english.
But anyway, thanks for help.
Sound like Agapito's Crazy Adventure a.k.a. Island Adventurefocusd said:Okay, so. First time posting here, so let's start this off with a game that has been bugging me for awhile. It's a classic point-and-click adventure game on the PC from the late 90s-early 2000s. I've only played a single level that was included in the demo, and you're on a plane going on some sort of vacation. You start in some cargo-looking area of the plane with a gorilla in a giant cage. I remember one key specific scene where you crumble up a piece of paper and throw it at the gorilla to provoke it for some reason or another. The last bit I remember is at the end of the demo, you manage to jump out of the plane and go through some dialogue while skydiving, and you have the option of pulling the cord for the parachute or ignoring it while the main character screams "PULL THE DAMN CORD!" before eventually ending up on some random, remote island.
I believe the name of the game has to do with the name of the main character, but I'm not for sure.
userasda said:Hey, I'm trying to remember a game i played during the world cup of Korea/Japan in 2002. I had a demo version of it. It was a 2D game and it had quite nice cartoon/anime-like graphics. It was something like space impact. You could be a red demon(and other characters I can't remember) and you could play multiplayer on the same pc. You were shooting monsters, you could take upgrades and have more powerful bullets and things like that. I remember it was "promoting" or sponsoring/sponsored by the world cup because it said something about Korea/Japan World Cup.
userasda said:I have another one. A game on NES or SNES, i was playing it around 1995-96. You looked like megaman but i looked and couldn't find it. In one level. there were some fountains you could jump there and could step on the water. As the water was rising and falling, you were too. There was a boss that was throwing some black bombs or tires from his mouth(?) not sure. The stage was moving like you were running along the boss. You were on the left and the boss on the right. You were shooting something at him, megaman style, but not sure exactly. Help please![]()
BUMPuserasda said:Another game on ps1 or pc. You were a soldier, killing other soldier. There was a flamethrower with 3 levels of it? Red Green and Blue as the strongest fire?
Can't remember much.
My first thought on this one was Alien 3 on the SNES - but this wasn't ported to the PSX or the PC. Emulators, perhaps?userasda said:BUMPuserasda said:Another game on ps1 or pc. any thoughts? it's driving me crazy!!
If the player select was in a pub then it sounds like Light Bringer to me but I could be wrong. Did the Knight use a freaky chain weapon? If so then it may be an earlier game I have on my Mame setup.Jester Sneizer said:I remember playing this game in arcade.
-the playable classes are knight, archer, (a woman and a wizard.. not sure with these two).
-the camera angle is like whats on "Sonic 3D" but changes sometimes to side. (3rd person view aka Musashi)
-dungeon crawler/platformer type of game.
-i remember fighting skeletons on 1st stage (J-turn like path, and i fight a witch at the end, not sure though)
-after that mini boss^ , i fight a dragon at the castle walls (the dragon will stay on right or left side and breath fire then tries to catch you to the other side)
-the next stage is a snowy mountain, there are 2 paths. (1st path will take you to fight another dragon, the 2nd path is a long way where you will fight a one-eyed green monster like a tree trunk with tentacles and shoots acid upwards and tries to ram you)
-i also remember a lava stage and another dragon boss.
-i remember a knight boss in a room with mirrors (i think this boss is hard, it teleports behind you then attacks you)
please post a picture or link with your answer. thank you xD
Could be Powerslide ( http://www.giantbomb.com/powerslide/3030-16728/images/ )Sansha said:Hey guys,
I'm looking for a 90's PC game. It was about a post-apocalyptic world where racing buggies was hugely popular, and some post-world government made it illegal for some reason, but people still race in secret clubs. The graphics were relatively solid, for the time, and the physics was pretty good too. I remember the demo track being a dried up dam.
I cannot for the life of me think of this game's title. Can anyone help?
The game I described above is Savage, but there is a new one out now. Savage 2. Excited to try it out!Viatch said:Hi everyone. I have been searching this thread and found a similar post to a game I am looking for, but the answer given by another person was "Populous" which is not the game I am looking for. Does anyone know what I am looking for here:
- Online Multiplayer Game
- Was available as a free to play online demo but purchase to include more features.
- Had to be within the last 4-9 years since graphics were pretty decent.
- The free demo came with one race which resembled Indians. Pay version had some sort of beasts and maybe a 3rd race.
- Each round started off with both teams controlling units in 3rd person.
- I believe I remember having to attack (hit) either a gold mine or something to gain money/gold for our team. The money was then used to upgrade the units (armor/attack) and unlock new ones. I believe there was some ranged unit and a tank unit.
- Each time you die, you had to wait a limited amount of time before you can spawn again with a new unit.
- There were defensive structures you can either buy or build.
- It was a WASD game with mouse clicking to attack.
The image that keeps popping into my head is seeing my Indian unit swinging his axe at either structures or other players to gain resources and then being upgraded as the round went on. Its even possible that I had to return to base to drop off these resources. If I died, I had to respawn but could pick a different unit if they were available. Each round was a good 30minutes to an hour and your name was displayed with score (I believe)
Thank you much!
I haven't played the game myself, but one "Electric Skateboard" game i know of is Airblade (PS2) ( http://cdn4.spong.com/screen-shot/a/i/airblade52399/_-AirBlade-PS2-_.jpg )iPlayNL said:I think it was a PS2 game (might be PS1), not sure if exclusive. You had some kind of electric skateboard (i think) and you could take down helicopters with it and stuff. It had some kind of mission with a black car. Sounds really vague, but this is all i know.
Ah no way, awesome, it IS Powerslide! Thank you!Doomgriever said:Could be Powerslide ( http://www.giantbomb.com/powerslide/3030-16728/images/ )Sansha said:Hey guys,

I think in the US Lightbringer went by the name Dungeon Magic or Dungeon Quest.....something like that.
EDIT: Dungeon Magic was the US name. Images here:
