Ratty, you're the best! My wife and i had a good laugh about this. I think about it every now and again, and have failed to figure it out for about 5 years now. I told her I found this forum and had an answer in the first day
Hey glad I could help. If you want to get the game running on a modern computer you're going to need to use a free program called DOSbox which you can get here http://www.dosbox.com/ to simulate the old MS-Dos operating system. It can be a little tricky to set up at first but once you get used to it it's no problem.

Most of the time if you see an 80s to mid-90s game for sale on places like Steam or GoG it comes with a copy of Dosbox already set up to run it. I don't think ShadowCaster is on gog/steam etc. but there is a CD version you can probably get pretty cheap on ebay or thereabouts, and I think the CD version has a few extra levels.

I'm trying to remember two PC games that I had when I was a kid, probably around 1998.

One was based in a newspaper/magazine office, you played a girl and all I remember is you had to go around the office and collect information/gossip.

The other was a Disney Princess game, I think Rapunzel, mostly it was about dressing up your character.

Sorry I can't be more specific, if I could I probably would have found them on google!

Please anyone help me find this old game that I played around '89 - '93 been bugging me for years that I don't remember the name. So basically, it's a two players game where you have a black vehicle driving around and rescuing as many people as you can then drop them off to safety. Please anyone, thanks!!!

I'm trying to figure out the title of a game which I played on my Win95/98 which involved Wizards and other heroes which you had to "train" so that they would gain levels and become stronger (I remeber wizard towers, places where your wizards could join tournaments in order to level up faster, and fog of war)...

The title should be something like "Magic II" but I've tried quite hard to find something on google but I haven't had any luck so far... can someone help me? Thank you
Majesty games come to my mind, but that's about it. You have given very little clues.

hi i'm searching for a game i played as a kid on PC.

It was pacman-esque, where you saw a maze type thing and moved around using the arrow buttons and you collected little balls or something, I remember there being a christmas level, and i think the beginning of the game you woke up in a house thing and took a bus somewhere. I'm fuzzy on that part. The character might have been a spaceship thing. It had a yellow disk. it would be from the 90's i believe

Hi, Im trying again for the language learning game. I know it'll be way harder to find people who know it but anyway. I found out the name 2 years ago after painstaking hours of trying different buzz word combinations and luckily finding it on google images but I just do not remember what I searched.

1) It's a roleplay learning game, my sisters version was French but I believe it came in Spanish too
2) You start briefly in the airport and take taxi into this town which is the name of the game!!! how annoying
3) You can go to the bank, your B&B and the restaurant. I never got further than that because I always failed by food poisoning.
4) The graphics are mixed with real life actors and cartoon backgrounds.

The second game was a children's game similar to putt putt but more adventurous so for ages 7-12 I'd say. It was a demo so I don't know if it's the beginning but you go into a house and you realise that place has been ransacked. You must pick up several things which leads you to find the key that release one of the characters (maybe two) from the chest they have been locked in. That's where the demo ends.

Hey @ll,

Noob here. Did anyone else ever play any of those Facebook war games several years ago? I can't remember what it's called, but it involved kingdoms, being part of a family/clan, invading enemy clan's (individual player's) kingdoms; very little frills in the way of graphics...Like, you'd log into it in the Games section, and you'd get "away' msgs in light green paragraphs from when you weren't logged in, saying things like "Your Kingdom has been invaded by ___; you lost 100,000 coins, 80,000 acres, and 50,000 soldiers", and there'd be a button to counter-invade them, etc.

I want to say the name had either "warrior" or "kingdom" or "knight" in it, but I just can't remember (I think the name was 2 words).

Does anyone know what I'm talking about????? ;-(

Thanks in advance!

I have a game I am trying to remember, I wanna say it was a DOS game, it was a action platformer similar to megaman, I believe the plot of the game is you find your father had been kidnapped, and he speaks to you through his astral form or something, and your job is to run through the levels until you get to the end of the game and rescue him, I remember finding it on an OLD cdrom called something like 300 arcade games or something like that, the name of the actual game was a name like "the adventures of (insert main character's name here)" I remember the first level was your house trying to shoot your way though ninjas to find the back door, and I remember the victory sequence of the first level was him blowing the smoke from his blaster while the megaman victory theme played, the second level was the back yard that had been run over by man eating plants

hey guys,

so my english isnt that good but i will try to explain,

im searching for an old game i played in my childhood, or more like i watched.
i guess its a dos game, it was clearly pixelated, at the beginning u saw somekind of a town in the background and you had a menu in the middle of the screen to choose and do stuff, but dont remember what stuff because it was in english, but the only reason a friend played that game was that there was a arena where diffrent types of monster like ogres, orcs, fairys, centaures and so on battled each other, like 5-10 monsters at the same time until 1 was left. i dont know what this game actually was because we only watched them fighting and nothing more.
my mother told me at that time that this was called doom or dune and now cant remember anymore that games name, its like about ~15years ago, but i know doom is a shooter and dune a strategy, so i dont know that games name sound like that or its totally wrong^^

the arena itself was simple, you watched from the side in a simple 2d view
can anyone help me?

Hello guys I need help with 4 games:

1. There was an old RTS game that I played, nowadays it kinda reminds me of Starcraft but it isn't Starcraft. Only thing that I remember is that you had robots that gathered resources from the trees, I think that those robots drilled the trees so they collected probably wood resource. I also remember that some robot troops looked like spiders (If I remember correctly)

2. Second game that I don't remember very good aswell Is a game that I can't quite put in to a genre. It was kinda like a strategy or RTS game (you led your soldiers from the bird's perspective). I probably played demo. There was one map with many entrances. You led an army that looked like an army of chinese or japanese soldiers. There were soldiers that had japanese(deformed 8 shaped like) flasks around their belt and I think that those soldiers attacked with fire. I think that the game looked more like a 16 bit game and had a brownish tint to a whole game. That is all I remember :/

3. There is a RTS game that was made around 2003 I think. I only played demo. It was a strategy game placed in arena where human soldiers fought against alien soldiers (It was an arena with seats, the public were aliens that were cheering). There was an alien (I think) host that commented the whole game, and the human general and alien general insulted each other through levels all the time. Human general looked kinda like Guile from Street Fighter, except he had gray hair I think. It was all placed in a fight arena.

4. There is another demo game that I played. It is a very old first person 3D game. Demo started with you falling through a hole of something that looks like a Mayan pyramid collecting crystals. Then you moved through the pyramid and collected more crystals and met some different enemies. I think that the enemies that you fought had mayan masks on their face.

Guys, thanks for your time and help.
After a bit of Googling I found out that the first game is Total Annihilation :) Robot actually sucks the energy from the trees and sprays energy to build stuff. Now the other 3 games? Still need help :)
Found another one with help from Reddit. The third game is The Gladiators: Galactic Circus Games.
The fourth game is something similair to Montezuma's return, but it's not that game, it's similair and a bit older I think, also a bit more blocky.

Medieval Conquest?
Well, at this point I'm just guessing, because I don't know those games. What worked for me when looking for old games I had played was using Google image search a lot with keywords such as "XYZ similiar game" and "XYZ clone".
