looking for a game I played in the early 90's on a Mac Classic. the charter was a girl and it took place in a dungeon or labyrinth. I remember you started with nothing and would have to kill Troglodytes and various creatures. you started with nothing but would pick up rocks and sticks and eventually upgrade to guns. you could collect coins which you could spend in vending machines. I remember Kevlar armer being one. there were also slimes that would multiply. It was a top down game. I think it might have had something to do with apocalypse or nuclear plant but not sure.

It's been driving me crazy for years. Anyone remember this?

OK I think it was called Mission Thunderbolt

does anyone know where I could get a copy to run on a Mac os 10.7.5?

HI, Looking for a playstation 1 game, it was a versus fighting game with different charecters like the grimreaper, gunman, swordsman etc. The charecters could be uppgraded after you defeated the other charecters with one charecter for exampel, the grimreaper defeats all and in the end it fight the character it will become after deafeating it.

It could have been Gauntlet Legends or Gauntlet: Dark Legacy.

I am looking back at my childhood and I currently found two games:
List of Found Classic Games:
-Captain Claw (Found)
-Chaos Engine (Found)

I still have other games that I am looking for and here is a brief description of them. Over-time I may recall more details as I answer possible questions. But all support will be needed. The main purpose is to find the title of the games.

List of Unfound classic games:
1. A jumping game (platform=2-D Mario-like jumping games), (around the 1990s maybe even 2000s)
in which a male protagonist (main character) is going through different areas. The first of which is a forest-like area with different enemies (possibly spiders/wolfs). This game had blood-clump effects, if you would be killed or if you killed you?re enemies. You were able to jump on the trees of the first level and go up to find different items. One of which was possibly a gun (maybe a shot-gun). After you journey on a bit more through the forest in which you possibly find a house you go into.
Graphics:
The graphics were very similar to this to old school-pixel like platform games.

2. The robot game 3rd person shooter; (around 1990 to 2000)
The beginning theme video (as you try to access a possible main menu), a robot is being constructed (this robot is in the shape of a human but with pure metallic parts). The first level is the robot going through some pixelated grass (this game did not have great graphics), and to your right you would see poor-quality water in which you could go in and find an item (or maybe no item ? I am recalling this from years back). Beside the river is a wall with a gate. Far behind the gate there was a building and maybe two other robots moving around and able to kill you from afar. The graphics were similar to the game Doom. The protagonist robot was silver in color, if you would move the camera to see the front of him: he appeared all dark and only his red eyes and body silloute could be seen.

3. The drunken box game; (High 1990s to early 2000s)
This was a game similar to Playing With Fire/candy crush/breaking boxes and getting points. But this game was unique in a way that you were a creature (maybe a monster) And you had to collect specific items for yourself, the graphics were not that bad, and I remember you were offered a trail version of the game.

4. The spaceship game;
In this game the protagonist was an aircraft. The first level was in a subway station (or so it appeared like), you had to fight other aircrafts in this subway station, I remember your aircraft had different weapons and that the subway appeared maze like. The graphics were similar to around 2000s.

Look for any of these games, and just ask questions and I will be more than happy to reply!

Hey guys! Glad to stumble upon this site. The game I'm looking for came on one of those multi-game CDs you used to be able to buy for peanuts. Anyway, this particular game was a Turn-based Galactic Conquest game in that there were 3 units: Stealth Ships, Warships, and Transports. On each turn you could decide to create any of the ships, or do something to 'upgrade' the planet. The planets were all leveled. In certain game modes you would start on a Level 10, or on harder ones I think you could start on a level 1. The one difference that this game had is you could take control of a planet, and then lose it to a revolt if you didn't appease/scare the population enough. I also remember being able to destroy planets, although it severely lowered your popularity on other planets.

If anyone can throw me a name, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Alright bear with me here.. The name of this game is escaping me and it's driving me nuts! It's a PC game that I played when I was little (mid-late 90's). I know it's gonna be difficult to remember with so little detail but I remember it was geared toward children and *may* have been educational. The main screen of the game was a boy's room and depending on what you clicked in his room, a different adventure would load. I remember having to end the game by returning to the boys room. I seem to remember something about a group of sheep singing Bah Bah Blacksheep...Also there may have been talking mice....?? But I'm not sure that that's all that helpful. It know it's a long shot but would be amazing if anyone could help..

Okay so there was this game, it was like an action shooter arcade thing but on an isometric grid. It was on our old PPC Mac (and it was really hard xD). The bad guys where all just colored 4-sided pyramids and the different colors had different behaviors; The player was just another pyramid but turned on its side and you move around on the grid and shoot the bad pyramids.

EDIT: Holy crap I think I just found it it's called Icebreaker. :L

Hey everyone. I usually can remember some of the old school games that I used to play, but I've had a recent "urge" to play an old game, and I cannot remember it for the life of me!

There were a series of games within this brand. It was released either in the mid-to-late 90's or the early 2000's. I remember only playing it on PC. I can't remember if there was a trial version, but I remember having limited features without paying for it. It was kind of like Might of Magic when it came to the quests and stuff, but the actual game was 2D from the aerial view. The actual combat was more like turn based, and if I remember correctly... you might've even fought out on the world map. It was in a medieval type setting, and there were your normal medieval classes with magic etc. I remember the "lizard people" monsters being quite popular. I believe the enemies had villages as well that you could raid. The game was really long and almost impossible to beat... I remember having to grind a ton, and it was hard to come across items.

The aerial view was not diagonal. All of the turn-based rpg games from around that timeframe that I am looking at either look really decent for that time period, or the camera was set diagonally. This game was set with your normal horizontal/vertical scheme, and the graphics totally sucked... which is why I am getting so mad at Google etc. when I look up "epic games" or "old pc games" and I get back snapshots of stuff from the mid-90s........... I even saw an article talking about "old games" from as far back as 2012..... wow - that was a really long time ago. (jk) If you aren't in you're 30's then you probably aren't old enough to have ever had played this game. I can't even remember how I got the game - it might've been on Kazaa, but it was around the time when I was playing MUDs like Gemstone III. (went back to that game recently... it still exists!)

---- Additional Info: the game used a straight north/south/east/west grid. So there wasn't a lot of deviation in how you moved. The turn-based element was only during combat. On the world map I think it would jump you to a temporary fighting map, and in the villages you would fight within the village - sort of like Final Fantasy Tactics or Ogre Tactics etc. The graphics looked only slightly better than some of the originals: Dragon Slayer etc. I've manually gone through pages upon pages of games listed on various sites (probably got a few viruses doing at as well looking at everything my AV blocked and all of the pop-ups that were bypassing my protections...), but to no avail! Alas! I cannot find one image that looks even remotely close to the game. I remember there was a series, but this may have been an underground game that was never really advertised well. I think I remember having to download this straight from the maker's website back in the day.

---- Additional Info 2: I think I just remembered that the first episode or two of the game, you are in a world that is entirely underground. I think during the third episode of the game - you manage to make your way to the surface, where you find that there is a whole other world. Lol... I know my descriptions are so generic, and I will be so amazed if someone gets this. I believe the game might have been a 16-bit genre, but it is possible that it could have been an 8-bit. I only played the game on PC, and so it wasn't a console game.

---- Close Match: The graphics look kind of more than Ultima V and less than Ultima VI. Perhaps that can narrow time the time frame. I don't think it had colored borders etc.

---- AWESOME RESOURCE(s): I was hoping that a name would jump out to me... but nothing seems familiar, and when it hits the year 2000 the games are too modern. I definitely played this game well before 2000.
&&&&&&&&&& http://www.mobygames.com <----- great resource a DB of video games!

---------- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Western_role-playing_video_games
---------- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tactical_role-playing_game

I can't find this game anywhere, and all I can remember is what it looked like. I thought it was a spin off of Might & Magic, but now I think that it may have been something more generic that some epic geek cooked up in their mom's basement. Well nevertheless, I would love to get my epicness on, and so if you remember this game please... please... please...!!! don't leave a brother in the dark.

If you think you have an answer to this - please mail me at my email so that I can get a notification ASAP to my phone!

************** ANSWERED ******************

I found the answer myself. It was bugging me so badly that this was all I could concentrate on for weeks! So the final resource that helped me was Mobygames.com. I was able to filter down to Windows --> RPG and then I selected all games and then just went down middle clicking (scroll button click - creates a new tab in the web browser) on any names that looked familiar. When I saw the images of a particular game then I knew I hit a jackpot! The series was called Exile!!!!!! It was created by Spiderweb Software, and they were a series of four games created between 1995 and 1997.... truly epic.

---------- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exile_(video_game_series)

The series of games was re-released under the title of Avernum (various games), but I still prefer the top-down games verses the diagonal ones. The old games are available on the producer's website, and they are free to download since they are so old! Thank you www.spiderwebsoftware.com !!! =D

Hello all, first post so i'm hoping for success right out of the gate. I played this game 12 or fewer years ago, should be on PC. First person shooter with some distinct characteristics. It was half maze, sharp lines to the graphics unlike Doom style. Mostly black and white, white walls with black lines though you could hit portions with color. You had a pistol at one point, limited ammo possibly with a shotgun also. Smiley's everywhere to scare the hell out of you, things popped up and chased you. At one point along a passage the world inverted up and down. Frustrating and sketchy game. I believe it was arrow key controlled. Thanks for your help and hopefully eclectic knowledge of this pesky game.

Hi all hopefully someone can help me out.

Ok it was a PC game I'm not sure when it came out but I played it around 2000-2006. I have looked for ages for the game but couldn't find it, it is a rts game with dated graphics, similar to Warcraft 3 but less 3D if that makes sense. It was real-time no turn based.

From looking through images some of the buildings from Warcraft 3 look similar but that may just be me mixing some things up.

Ok so basically you had a level set out with chests and loads of different monsters, one thing that stood out was that there was a level editor and you could put down different tiers of the same monster, they would be different in colour to show tier.

It was an rts and you were able to build mages who could cast spells and build units with different abilities. The goblin could get a flying unit i think and the goblin mages put down clouds of poison as one of their spells.

The game is similiar to how warcraft games run, with the individual spells on units.

One other thing I think i remember is that in one of the first few levels you start out as just a knight in the middle of a forest.

Thanks in advance for your help :D

[EDIT]:I just realised the buildings in the game warlord battlecry 3 are so incredibly familiar, but its not that game.

Can't believe this thread is still alive! i'd appreciate help if possible...

The game I'm looking for was out in the UK roughly between '99 - '05 (doesn't help much!) It may be a FF game but I'm not so sure.

It was an RPG with turn based combat, fighting monsters and armies. The main protagonist (you) would walk around the world on his own, but would have a few people fight alongside him in combat.

The main bit of the story that i remember is that i was walking around the main city and could buy stuff from shops, then I was sent on a quest to collect something from another town. when i came back, the whole city was in flames and sombre music played. I believe I can remember a back story of someone and his army trying to rule the land, pretty sure I remember seeing soliders with large banners in the open world.

I also remember getting into a castle and fight off monsters (specifically a large, chain like monster?) and also spirits/ghosts. I seem to remember forests as well.

The graphics were 2D, top down, and very similar to how old Pokemon games looked (albeit this was in colour). The combat looked very similar to this: http://www.technobuffalo.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/ffivadvance_2.jpg
(I'm not convinced its that game though?)

Oh my god, I need help... I've wasted more than 10 hours in total to try to find the game that I used to play when I was a kid.

I start describing it:

So the game was about using a aircraft to save villagers from giant spiders and I think more other monsters, I think it is from the age of 1998-2004 (PC), it was a 3D game and u could fly around with ur aircraft and pick up villagers, the aircraft was something like this http://www.pcsimstore.com/images/detailed/0/sa-2-samson-avatar-fsx-1.jpg .

Please help, thank you.

I could really need some help! ^^ I´ve looked along time for this game, like years. Im sure it´s not Doom, Quake, Hexxen or Heretic... almost 100% sure.

I played it between 1994-1997 I think. It was a fps- which u controlled with your arrow keyes, so no visual of you, just a hand holding a wep. You could have a blue weapon like a gun, and an upgraded blue weapon with abit of orange on it I think. You could also hold a white wand with a star on top of it. Im sure there were more weapons. You shot different kind of monsters, but I remember two. One was a normal witch with a white dress and with black hair and then there was a tougher version that had a red dress I think and black hair.
You were supposed to find keys (blue, red, green or yellow) and each key could open a corresponding door. So you find a blue key, open the blue door, kill mobs, find a red door and try to find a red key.

I also remember a level (I think it was lvl 13) where the corridor or maze was shaped like a plus, with four dead end corners. I was stuck there until I figured out you could press the space key and open a secret door that lead to a key and another door.

That´s all I remember. Does anyone remeber this game? Please help! Ty =)

Hello everyone! I'm not sure if someone already looked for that game. Anyway i'll try.

There is a some kind of action adventure game. I guess it about future. Game taking place on something like big station on planet. First game video starts when guy in face shield mask cutting you up.
Then when games begins you are cyborg in broken prison camera. I guess after crash the laser door become broken. You can walk out in corridor where you can see another prisoner big green guy. You walk further and there is a door, and to open it you need a 5 finger hand, but after surgery you got only 3. You comin' back beat that green guy and cut his hand off with laser camera door, i don't remember how exactly. And that hand fits to door panel.
Also i remember that you can find a some kind of plasma gun and you can shot things.

Game is pretty old, i played it in 90s.

Well check out Tzar: Burden of the Crown and Total Annihilation: Kingdoms, maybe it is some of them.
