There are two games I'm having trouble remembering...

The first I remember playing on commodore 64 featured a very bland, mostly black rendering of a forest with some trees. Scattered around were potions, mostly red, and shaped like beakers (triangle shaped). There were also keys you had to pick up and I remember most of them were either yellow or blue, at least on the first level they were.

The second game is another early 90s game. I think you were a mad scientist of some sort and you mixed these different chemicals together to play monsters. It also had simple graphics: a black background with the monsters taking up most of the screen. The monsters also looked a bit mix-and-match with the potions giving predictable results.

Thanks in advance!

I believe the first game you are talking about is Gauntlet: Dark Legacy.
Thanks for answering. I looked it up, and no, and it's not Gauntlet. This game was even more primitive looking than that. If it helps, some of the scenery looked like it was made up of asterisks and other symbols.

This may have been answered before.

It's a browser game (probably pre-2006) and there were I think three installments. It was essentially a point and click puzzle some elements you had to be really quick with others you didn't and you had to do the right things in the right order :S not very descriptive. In my mind it fits with the Grow Cube games from eyezmaze and also recently Tiny King.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

As a kid, I used to play what I think was a puzzle game on the PC, it had multiple mini games like matching pictures together. The main thing I remember is performing simple tasks like adding sprinkles and other toppings to an ice cream and serving it to different types of animals.(Sounds really odd I know)

I think the main character that guided you through the puzzles and mini games was a monkey? I'm pretty sure the entire town in the game was just filled with different animals all with different tasks, the graphics were pretty good at the time too. I know that's extremely vague but does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? I've had no such luck finding any info online.

Thanks!

I'm trying to identify an old PC game i played in probably the either the late 80's or early nineties.
Hoping that my description can jog someone's memory.

It was on a floppy disk. The game was a 2d top-down spaceship combat arcade game. Each player got to select from several different space ships each with their own characteristics. The goal was to fly around the gamefield and kill your opponent. Kinda like a fancier version of Atari's Combat.

I only recall 3 of the ships in detail. The first was the small circle. It could move very fast and it's weapon was an auto-targeting short-range laser. The ship had a secondary ability that allowed it to warp to a random part of the gamefield.

The 2nd kinda looked like a Klingon bird of prey. It was purple and it's weapon was a short range flame thrower. The secondary ability was a cloaking device.

The last ship i remember acted like the carrier from starcraft. instead of direct fire, this ship would fire out interceptors that targeted the enemy.

There were several other ships, but i don't remember what they were like. When i played this, it could do 2 players (each on a side of the keyboard). I think it was a DOS game.

If this is familiar to anyone, let me know. I'd love to be able to track down this game.

Thanks.

Could you be referring to the original 1984 Elite release? Sounds vaguely like what you're talking about.

No, it's not Elite. The game i'm thinking of is not a simulator or very deep. There was no trading and i don't remember if there was a single player. Think Atari's combat, but with better graphics, colours, select-able space ships and a big playing field.

There's a game I remember playing at my grandma's house in the 90's. From what I remember about it, it was a first-person adventure/mystery game. It wasn't cartoony; the graphics were more realistic (for the quality of games at the time.) I think your character starts out on a big ship out at sea. You have to collect items to get further in the game. Eventually you end up at a lighthouse and I think you have to look around for a key to the gate to get in. I remember having to find a gas can and some matches to light up the lighthouse. I've been googling for the past 4 hours, looking at nearly every 90's first-person adventure games and I cannot, for the life of me, find it. I am going nuts trying to figure out what it was called. Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, I have one too :)

Arcade game, sometime 1980-1990, jump and run with a lot of monsters and boxes in various forms to splash
your family is abducted (I think by plant like aliens). You start out with a little girl in red. Over time and levels you free your family. First is a girl (I think in green) that is a bit stronger, then a fat boy who is a LOT stronger, a very tall boy who can jump extremely high and finally grandfather, whose stick hits like a truck but he moves veeeeeeeery slowly. You can walk into a telephone booth to change between characters. Anyone and idea?

thanks

Hi, all. There's a game the name of which I cannot remember, and my dad can't remember it either.

It's a Snake-type game, only it was a little train engine that would leave a track behind it as you moved it around the screen to pick up stuff and you had to avoid running into the track. It's not Vlak, but it's similar to it. It was in either the late 80s or very early 90s. My dad says the computer we had at that time was an x286 CPU with a 30mb disk on it. The monitor was just green on black, so the game was very simplistic in its graphics; one color only.

I have done SO much Googling and looking at the Internet Archive and MobyGames and other old computer game websites, and I just cannot find the exact game that I'm remembering.

Thanks in advance for any info you can give!

I have a game I am trying to get the name to. It was on PS1, and in it, you play as a cop/detective in the city, where a terrorist attack occurs. I never got to beat the game, the cd was so scratched up. I always had to turn it off at a cut-scene where your character is running up the street somewhere. If anyone can help me with the name, I will feel better.

Ooh I have one. I used to own an old Windows 98 Desktop back in the early 2000s. I used to always beg my mom and dad for cheap bargain bin PC games which were usually not very good. One I remember vividly had an industrial theme to it. Each of the levels involved factories, smokestacks, power plants, just industrial areas. And it had a real gloomy look to it; red skies, not the best graphics but it was in 3D. The problem is I can't remember if it was a platformer or a driving game. You weren't racing against anyone, you were trying to collect things. I think I just had a demo version of it, because it was part of a cheapie bargain bin game I bought that tried to get you to pay more money and buy the full versions of these games online.
My best guess on this would be Quarantine [http://www.mobygames.com/game/quarantine]
Definitely not; it was newer than that. It was also a tame E-rated game, despite the gloomy graphics. I think the game was made between 2000 and 2003, it may have been an early Windows XP game. I know it was a demo version as part of a cheapie "5,000 games!" bargain PC game I got when I was a little kid. All I can remember is the gloomy red sky, the industrial scenery, and that it was a 3D driving game, possibly a motorcycle game.

Looking for a game from the mid 90's. It's a single player (I think) RPG where you toggle between a few characters. I remember a scene where the character was on some kind of movie set (maybe a western?) and he had to eat a grain of salt to enter the building, otherwise it was just a storefront prop. In another scene, there's a princess in a long green or blue dress that has to walk along a path - the animation was slow and it took forever for her to get there. I played it on our apple computer as a kid. Ideas?

Hello everybody! I am looking for a game that I don`t really know if is it famous or not... I tried to find it in all the ways I could possibly try. Anyway, here it goes:

I used to play this game in the early 90s in my PC. It is an arcade in which the main character runs right and left only. This main character was a man with mustache holding a machine gun and the starts in a destroyed city where cars are in flames, people are dead and there are lots of creatures to kill. One of the creature I remember pretty well was a pinky one that crawls slowly and try to bite you. In tghe first level you enter in a corporative building filled with creatures and dead bodies. The second level (I am not so sure) everything hapens in a jungle and you can clib all the trees there.

That`s all I remember about it. Hope someone knows!

Thanks
Still looking for it

The game is: "Bio Menace" on PC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnR5zxbNgIk

Alright, so this has been bugging me for a while, so if anyone here could help that'd be stellar. Here's what I posted over on /r/tipofmyjoystick:

Platform(s): I played this on the Playstation 2

Genre: War, Third/First Person Shooter (can't remember)

Estimated year of release: 2000's, possibly and most likely post-2005

Graphics/art style: Realistic

Notable gameplay mechanics: The ability to switch between characters within a single mission. From what I can vaguely remember, you could see a character in the distance, say on a watchtower, and a prompt would appear. Upon pressing X or whatever the prompt was, you'd then play the game from that soldier's perspective. You could switch between soldiers on the map at will.

Other details: The levels I remember playing were set exclusively in the snow. I remember some sort of abandoned factory, also a bridge and preventing a helicopter from doing....something.

Hey, I´ve been looking for this game for a while.. I don´t remember much about the game, but I know I loved it so much when I was a kid.

On the start screen were two characters, two thiefs probably. I don´t know if I had to choose between them or if they were both part of the story at some point of the game. All I can remember is that the gameplay was super fun and the environment was interesting. I would characterize it as something between The Jazz Jackrabbit and Dangerous Dave, but maybe that isn´t a good example I don´t know.

I don´t remember for what OS exactly this game was, all I can remember is that I played it in the mid 90´s. I´m pretty sure that our PC ran on Windows and I think that my dad had to boot into DOS to run the game. But I´m not 100% sure.

I really hope that somebody can help me, because the game made a huge impression on me...

Thanks in advance guys
