Hello everybody!
I've been trying to remember/find a very nostalgic game I used to play with my friends in early 90s. I believe it was a DOS game where you play as a red bouncing ball with a smiley face. The major mode of game play was puzzle solving, each level was a giant jumping puzzle where you needed to carefully plan out your route with meticulous timing. The ultimate goal of a level was to navigate you from the starting point to the exit (which is a platform that opens like an inner tube when close). Each stage had different themes with it, for example the first set of stages were based on candies, chocolates, and toffees. These themes extended to the collectables and the enemies as well. The second set of stages were based on circus and toys. I distinctively remember an accordion, cymbal, and drum enemy in these levels. The game required a lot of trial and error to complete a level, memorizing the pattern of jumps and matching the timing of each was the most challenging component of the game play. There were disappearing green platforms if the ball bounces too much, some tilted according to the direction you've bounced to (and will not change back, you could technically lock yourself in between a leaning platform and the wall), some were like trampolines which the ball would bounce much higher than normal, spiked platforms... It was a good looking game, the backgrounds were dark to emphasize the platforms, the ball, collectables, and the enemies. To clarify it was a 2D platform/puzzle game with relatively small sprites but with great details to make them look 3D.
I've been trying to search for this game for years now, but I can't remember the name and internet search did not yield any results. If this game rings bell to any of you, please let me know. Thank you!
