Old Games you remember playing but can't remember the name of.

There was a PC game my brother got for his birthday some time in the mid 90s.

It was a space combat sim with a lot of FMVs in it. One feature that I remember was that you could play as either the human, or a pilot of the alien race the humans were fighting against. Another thing that I remember was that the main human character was supposed to be humanities champion (it even mentioned it on the box), and that the game used a lot of orange/red in both the game (as in, your ship was orange, and the HUD was really orange) and the box.

This late 80's early 90's DOS game was primarily about animals and I think had a series of mini games. I remember a ginger cat that meowed on the main page of the game. There was also a frog that you had to guide through a maze to get the fly. There was also a forest scene with various forest animals, but I can't remember what you had to do with the animals. It was a simple game targeted at young kids. Does anyone remember? It's driving me nuts!

Any ideas? The forest/wood had a deer and a raccoon in it. And I remember the 'froggy went a courtin' song played while you did the maze. It was point and click / arrows game

Hi guys I was wondering if you could help me remember that name of a game that has been driving me CRAZY. I normally would just say Oh well to something this trivial, but the fact is the memory of this game is now vital to the approach in our game design. But I remember so little.

All I remember about this game is that it had something to do with a war between two factions, I can't remember if they were apes, pigs, or something, but what i do remember is that the plot was hilarious as it was basically a series of rip offs of famous movies. The only scene I vaguely recall was a parody of the carbonite han solo scene in star wars from one of the characters/factions. Any ideas?

Nope. But thx for trying. Now that I've had some time to think about it the vague cutscene I recall was a deliberate rip off story of Halo and somehow transitioned to Star Wars where one of the characters was being taken away in carbonite or something.

Any other ideas?

BUMP... Please i need help to remmeber the name of 2 games ... i played as a demo when i was a kid and i want to enjoy that games again...

1st game is a guy like a pharaoh who need to solve some mazes and it can fire with the staff... to break some walls and attack some enemies and the objective of the game is solve the level without dieing and go to a portal i think...

2nd game is a guy who is like on a maze where u move 1 step by step and the mosnters move like him ... on the map it have giat spiders and i need to collect some things but all levels you need to kill the spiders u have some rocks u can move and traps u need to know how to avoid them ... is like indiana jones but the 2 games are in 2D ... u only see the map and u walking on that image =) not scrolling like supermario but is like that type of 2D ^^

Not too sure but sounds a bit like 'Binary Land' for the 2nd.

tyvm =D anyway its not that game for the second ... its like u are a human dressed like indiana jones and u kill monsters using some traps that u evaded and ur obejective is get the GEM i think ...

The first u is a human too and u have a staff that u use to fire some kind of blue magic flame to kill spiders and some sand walls ... is like a puzzle ...

I Repat you start up on lavel with red and blue bal and he need go down and go in right plase red need go in one plase blue in ather plase. have many diferent lavels with flowers waterfalls have.. in every level have ather bals who need you to cut the chain and bal hit red and blue to start rolling

Hi,

Trying to find out a PS1 game. I'm like 99% sure it was a PS1 game. It was sort of anime-ish, with the characters and all being asian. It was sort of a hack and slash game with the camera angle being looking down from above etc. Can't really say mutch about it but maybe there were different characters and there were a few boss fights etc. Sorry don't remember much used to play it as a kid.

Yea it was sort of like Gauntlet legends but the camera a bit more up and further away, and not totally top down.

I'm looking for a game that I remember. It's RTS released between 1995-2000. Demo version that I played had 4 missions (at least I think so). It was about war in our century and realm so there were tanks and buildings - no aliens or things like in Dark Colony/KKND. I remember that when you wanted to build something you had to select a bulldozer/stripper and choose part of a ground. Then some flags appeared and your bulldozer/stripper circled around this plant with flags. What is more whenever you choosed this machine you heard something like "ai ai Sir!".

Do you know this game?

I remember Earth 2150 but that's not what I'm looking for. Earth 2150 was 3D, I'm looking for a 2D RTS game. It looked more like "Mayday" (PC game) but that's not the one anyway.

This is a really weird one.
I played it when I was really young in the late 90's but it's probably older than that, I think my grandfather gave it to my family when he gave us his old Mac. It was a black and white, point and click, flash game. I remember that it had really minimal sound design and was really trippy. It was POV as a person wandering around this maze-like series of rooms. At one point you encountered a rabbit in a waste coat and you may have played chess(?) at one point. A very solid memory I have is of getting onto a gondola and going the wrong way, ending up in a bathtub, and going down the dragon of the bath tub. As a kid I was perpetually confused about what I was supposed to do but I kept going back. All of the animation had a Victorian feel, it may have been Alice in Wonderland themed but if it was it was definitely based on the novels not the movies. I think there was a walrus. This has been bugging me all day, I've even had my little brother (who doesn't remember it at all) looking it up. If you guess this, you're a superstar. Help?

That's super close but not it! I'm sure it wasn't quite that old, it was definitely on CD-ROM. And if it was Alice in Wonderland themed it was more subtle. Thank you for the wild guess though!

Hi there! I've been searching this game everywhere, and after googling and looking at lots and lots of longplays and reviews in youtube, I've decided to ask for help here.
This is a game I played a long time ago, on a Commodore 64.
It's a side scroller/platformer. It's a little bit like Ghosts 'n Goblins.
The only things I remember are that the final boss is some sort of flying creature called "Wicked". I also remember that there were some big enemies, like flying giant Phaun-like creatures that would fly by throwing shitloads of fireballs or bullets.
Mmm... what else? The predominant color of the game is black. Black background. It has platforms, and I'm not sure about the main character, the hero, no matter how I try I just can't remember what it is, how it looks like.
Well there it is. I'll appreciate enormously any help or hints I can get! Feel free to ask me about the game, maybe one question can trigger more memories.

The main character is a boy from a small village who lives with his grandparents and he also plays the flute (he has orange air and wears blue) One day he comes home to see a girl with black hair and a pink dress with a pet pig at his house. She says she travels or something and your grandparents let her stay for a while. Later on some knights come over to your house and take her away then you find out she's actually a princess. Before they take her though she makes you promise to find her and rescue her. So you go to the castle and try to convince the king and queen to let her be free but no matter what you say they throw you into the dungeon and from there you have to fight monsters to get out. that's pretty much the opening fight. You also meet what I think is a fair and she has blue hair. And you also talk to this gigantic head statue that kinda looks like Medusa and that's your saving point. Also you can change into different characters like you can change unto this powerful knight with long blonde hair and also this creature that can phase through the floor. Oh and I remember the main characters name: Will. The princess is Kari the fairy is lily and there's also some more side characters too. Please help meeeee I loved that game when I was a child!

Really difficult to describe the game that is really bothering me right now.

I don't remember the platform...either C64 or PC. Very old game. There was an astronaut / agent with a bubble helmet (I think) or a (green?) spacesuit the wearing of which made the character avoid or deceive enemies. I think there was some weird vegetation or eggs or something like that...I am not even sure what the purpose of the game was. I have forgotten. I think one needed to open some kind of hatches or valves. I think the setting was underground, perhaps a mine or it could have been a factory / spaceship. The atmosphere of the game was intimidating.

Quite confusing. I hope I have not been dreaming.

Edit: The graphics were quite good (for the time at least)

Edit: Ah, now that I really started to think about it I found the solution: Dan Dare, of course.

I'm looking for an old PC game where you played an ant, probably from early 2000s, it was 3D and looked kind of like the first Toy Story game in terms of scope. All I can remember about it is trying to save other ants who had been captured or something, I think there was a giant slug enemy that patrolled around the first area of the game and you also had to fight red ants. My most vivid memory of the game was a giant leaking tap in the first garden area.

Hi guys, and gals! After searching for an hour with random strings of my memory and stumbling across this thread multiple times, I've decided to register and try my luck here.

I'm looking for an old DOS or Windows 95 RPG game. I can't remember if the combat was turn based or real time. The only vague things i do remember is that it was a top down or slightly isometric in perspective, no 3d scenes (something simmilar to old DOS LOTR games). I think you had the character portraits displayed on screen at all times.
Upon start you get only one character, a fighter/warrior/knight class. I don't think you could choose your own class. He had blue armor on him, had blond hair and looked cartoony and masculine in appearance. The game probably was somewhat comedic in nature. You begin in some kind of a village (I could be mistaken about this). Later on you meet another character on a bridge. He was colored green, or rather his cloak, and I think he was some kind of a ranger or rogue class. He had a bow or crossbow for a weapon. After a bit of more adventuring, you get a mage class character. This one was colored red or purple. I remember that I got stuck in some kind of castle or dungeon, where I could not cross a lava (or water) pool.

If this strikes anyone as something they might have played, please don't be shy in replying.

You can deploy a wise cracking AI rover that you could control to enter various buildings
Time Travel plot twist
Air to air combat is involved.
Has a name similar to "Terminal Velocity". Don't count on that though....
you can accidentally rollover the rover, to which the AI berates you.
