I forgot to put this at the top but a Shadow of the Colossus HD remake would be beautiful.
You're in luck.
And it's being paired with ICO as well. [http://ps3.ign.com/objects/075/075635.html]

I'm not certain if it's fully being remade or not, but I really hope they polish the textures and frame-rate.

As for myself, Simcopter would be amazing.
You've made my day thankyou :)

The REmake wasn't bad, and I never played the MGS one but I'm inclined to condemn remakes anyway.

1. Developers need to get new material.
2. If the original was good, don't water it down with a remake.

It doesn't 'honor the original', it just creates an inane cycle where we can keep harvesting money every 5 years or whatever arbitrary timeline the producers decide on. How often is the general consensus that a remake is better than the original?

The game I always come back to when I think of this is SH1. When I played it a month or so after release the graphics were crispy clean, cutting edge stuff. Now people claim they can't be frightened due to the inferior visuals. Elitist bast... (mutter mutter). Anyway, I still think it's better off as a one of. With a remake you have to specify every time which one you're talking about, and the developers usually decide to take little liberties with the material or add bonus content to skew your opinions.

Lords of Magic. One of the best RTS/Empire games I've played to date.
wow, i thought i was the only person on the planet who even know that games exists... and hell fucking yes.

I'll add the this list the game Strife. it was an extremely underrated game that used a modified (to the max) version of Doom's game engine and was one of the first open world (almost-ish) games ever.

Yeh FF-IX. Cept the only thing they can do to it is improve the graphics and speed. Everything else must be kept as is. Anyone tinkers elsewhere they get their fingers cut off.
I agree, but they should re-balance the characters somewhat. Freya and Amarant are pretty much useless as long as you can have Steiner and Zidane in your party. Freya's Dragon abilities in particular are all but useless except for Reis' Wind and Dragon Crest (Provided you spend the time to kill 100 dragons). Steiner himself has so much going for him in terms of raw power, survivability AND versatility that there's pretty much no reason (Purely in terms of comparison) not to have him in your party whenever possible.
Not to mention how Trances between the characters range from borderline overpowered (Zidane, Steiner) to almost useless (Quina, Freya).

Resident Evil 1, the Remake...
Yes, remake the remake.
RE4 style controls, better writing, more emphasis on story.
I'd take it from being a survival horror game, to being a well written action thriller with continuity and zombies in, just like it always should have been.
My version of the story:
Alpha and Bravo are dispatched at the same time, taking different paths into the Mansion grounds. Billy's (no longer a wanted criminal, but rather a free man who just got done testifying) train has already crashed, and he's been hiding out in the mansion for a few days now.
Albert is less like Fuhrer Bradly in the original FMA anime, and more like Bradley in Brotherhood, betraying the team from the first scene out and being the clear antagonist.
I'd make the mansion bigger, too.
Oh, and before we'd even get to the mansion there'd be a "day in the life" portion of the game that shows what life at the RPD station was like. Get to know and love the characters, see the build up in tensions as the incidents mount.
It'd be a very involving game

It's not dead yet, and I've seen one of the leaders say (somewhere) that it would be out early 2012 at the latest.
I want to believe this, truly, were it not for the fact that their recent updates are listed on twitter as Jan '10. We can hope, maybe it'll tie in with episode 3?
They decided to stop doing Twitter updates and official media releases because every time they did, some jackasses would use some sort of magic formula to figure out 'when are balck meas gonna be released?'

They are still posting regularly on the forums, and Raminator recently promised to Paypal some guy 50 bucks if it wasn't released before 2013.

off-topic: How do you expect me to type superscript, reCaptcha?
Awesome, thanks for the heads up dude

At this moment in gaming history i would say go for it, and let the companys also spend money experiment with new project while people remake some good old games!
