People right now are raging.

People in a few weeks? They won't give a damn.

I asked at my local trade in place today. PS3 trade ins are normal. 360 purchases are normal.

People talk alot, yet they hardly ever act on it.

While the breach is certainly cause for concern, I'm sticking with Sony. I'm one of those weird people who actually likes JRPGs and that sort of thing. Good excuse to switch to the 360 if you enjoy FPS multiplayer, though.

I didn't know that this was so "catastrophic". Frankly I couldn't care less, still loving the PS3.

I question this survey and its results...it seems just too small to count.

One in five PS3 owners won't sell their console and get another.
Right now I'm far too lazy to do proper math, but the survey included roughly 2132 people. 41% of these owned a PS3, that's 874.12 PS3 owners. About 21% of these said they were considering selling their system to get a 360...that's 183.5652 people.

Problem with small surveys is that a headline like this can be based on the feelings of less than 200 people.

I wouldn't dump all my Sony stock yet (assuming I had any).

As bad as this is for a lot of people, I'm not concerned, the credit card that I had attached to the account is no longer valid, so my only real problem at this point is being unable to access the PSN.

Well, I definitely am more wary of the PSN than before. I mean, it won't stop me from using the PSN once comes back up but there's definitely a loss of trust there.

I'll be curious to see what Sony does in response to this once the system is updated and the PSN back online. Knowing Sony it'll be nothing though... >_>

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but is this the biggest video-game related fuck-up catastrophe ever?
You're thinking of the 3DS.
So the 3DS has gotten thousands (millions?) of people's information stolen and has knocked people out of possibly multiple services that they may or may not have payed for? For over a week?

This is news to me.

Yeah, looking for a serious answer here, not a "I hate Nintendo lawls" answer. The 3DS is making them money. Your argument is invalid.
Well in that case you're looking for the original xbox.

Just further proof gamers can be idiots. I'll stick to both consoles happily, but then I've always known to never trust important information to any online account.
I concur. You always have to treat internet security with a grain of salt and I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that if you're using an important credit card for internet purchases of any kind rather than a visa debit card, you're bonkers. Case in point, sony.

Why not? Apart from different exclusives and a pay-for online service, the 360 is basically a similar console with the same games. Microsoft's doors are always open for converts.

No biggie. I own both so I have the freedom to switch back and forth as I please. I for one welcome all new 360 owners, the more the merrier.

I think that was the 1983 video game crash, but that was solely an American thing while the recent PSN debacle affects anyone who had a PSN account the world over.

So, I'd say it might be a close call.

Also;

What the hell is that character at the end!?
