The room shook, and some of the bookshelves shuddered, causing books to tumble down throughout the library. Armion grabbed the book and his notes with one hand, and his two umbrellas that he had set down next to him in his other hand, and ran through the stream of falling books until he reached the entrance of the library. Fortunately he had chosen to work, quite by chance, relatively near the entrance, so it didn't take very long.
He was still too late though. By the time Armion had reached the door and looked around, the trail of destroyed buildings reached beyond his line of sight. All he saw was people running either towards whatever was making that awful roaring sound, or away from it.
It had to be admitted, the group heading away was the source was a lot larger then the group heading towards it.
However, a closer look at whatever this was could be useful. After slipping the book and his notes into his robe pocket, Armion raised one of his umbrellas, and opened it, casting himself in a shadow much thicker then a bystander would expect. With the light decreased, movement for Armion became easier, and he ran off with surprising speed through the trashed streets, heading towards the creature.
