Its his house they didn't have a warrant. If you did nothing wrong the police are a nuisance and why should you have to cooperate with them? I'm talking about if youre just at your home and not out causing a nuisance. I understand the circumstances leading to the police procedure but the man had every right not to want to be bothered. Hopefully the case just gets dismissed.
I hope the officers are sent back to the acadamy to be taught how to deal with situations without escalating them, talk about being stupid :S

Wow, way to overreact. I don't think they should have sent him in for a psych test, but he shouldn't have slammed the door on the cops either.

He should have at least did what they said and shut up.

First things first, the police where called by a neighbor hearing screaming. The police (not the band) show up on the doorstep and the fellow slams the door in their face, possibly arming himself or barring the door. (extreme thought to some but come on, a kid shot his brother over a game... humanity is losing it's mind) That warrants a need for either more police or SWAT. Over all, that's textbook police work. On a less serious note, DON'T TAZE ME BRO.

Typical fucking cops. Don't use common sense, let's use the brute force approach that has always worked in the past (see: sarcasm). Of course he didn't want to let the cops in, he wasn't doing anything wrong.

Also, that woman should have just tried talking to him. Fucking fear and isolation making us paranoid and isolated. Sad story.

The only thing I can think of him being arrested for is disturbing the peace, but still.
A SWAT team is a little much. :p

Man the SWAT team were obviously bored. No need to call the whole department for one man.

actually, he WAS doing something wrong. Screaming so loud everyone on the street can hear you, that's disturbing the peace and with the way he was treating the cops he needed a lesson.

I think the police could of took care of it without the SWAT but if they had enough reason it should be fine.

Would be funny if the swat team just broke through his door just to yell
"Oi! Shut it will you?!"
and then walk away.

I hope he charges them with 'B & E'. A large amount of cops on the wrong side of the law would make my day.

I don't think its the fault of anyone. The police probably just asked nicely to come in and he angrily said no, giving them just cause to think somethings up then try to get in, he slams door. SWAT was not needed, and neither is the Psych test. But all of the people involved should get a spanking.

the cops are bothering him and all he did is yell at an inaminate object

the worst thing he did is making too much noise, oh and left his windows open

Reminds of the scene in Harold and Kumar with the guy "resisting arrest."

Why would the SWAT need to come in on the case? It just seems a bit over the top I think.

After the officers arrived, the man became increasingly irate, refused to let the officers into the house, threatened officers and then slammed the door, police said.
So, they arrived in his house, he got angry, THEN he didn't let them in, THEN he slammed the door.

Anyone else having problems with the timeline here?
Nah, it makes sense. They were probably talking to him at his front door, not inside his home. They probably wanted to go in after he started getting tetchy, he got madder and refused, then slammed the door.
