Yeah that's true, but they do really come to life when 'animated'... which is a little funny saying, because they're not really animated anymore. Strange.Woodsey said:Facial animations are great. The faces themselves are pretty ugly - I'm kind of at a loss as to why they've got all this mo-cap done, and then used some of the flattest, blandest textures on the characters' faces.
Anyway, I am slowly becoming more interested in this. I hope most of it has been written by Bondi though, because I don't know how much more of Rockstar's pacing I can take.
Anyway, the one thing that's always bothered me about Rockstar, is their incredibly stubborn track record with the PC. Why they don't cross-platform with any regularity, or any priority, is beyond me. Especially for something like this. They really should have done this technology Top-down with the PC. Man, it could be f-ing spectacular with PC hardware. Even average consumer PC's are more powerful than consoles. Even just a decent port would work, add in some options and DirectX 10/11, then bam it's incredible.
Shame, really. Either way, it still looks great. People can say what they want about Rockstar, but the truth is, they've been pushing boundaries in gaming for some time now, and now they're doing a genre that no one has touched on for several generations (tech). (There was Heavy Rain, but it was mostly an interactive movie. This looks to be much, much more involved.)
