What in the hell made DICE think that was a good idea!? Seriously, that's not even a bullshit marketing ploy, it's just insane.
...Maybe they forgot.
Actually, that would quite the awkward funny statement to come out.
DICE PR: Yeah... we were kind of overly focused on integrating Origin Subscriptions into our service that we kind of... forgot. Sorry, our bad.
Gamers: ...? Are you going to fix/patch it?
DICE PR: Hmmm... nah.
It confuses me on how they want to out sell MW3 while making these kind of miss steps. The "You'll buy it anyway" stance doesn't always work with gamers... only most of the time.

Could you please do some research before posting this sensationalist crap & causing people to react as above?
BF3 doesn't have a server browser because BF3 doesn't have a main menu.
Everything is controlled through the Battlelog website, VoIP, server browser, friends list, community forums, stats...everything.
Battlelog is fucking awesome. Seriously.
PS. You don't need to close the game and open it again to change server, simply alt+tab (which is super quick) to Battlelog & find a new one.
Quoting for second page, as said people need to be aware of this.
Was it really impossible to integrate a limited in-game browser that connects exclusively with Battlelog?
Are all normal options/settings(that would normally be in the main menu) be available in game or is there a separate application for that too. I'm not being sarcastic, it wouldn't be the first time I've heard of that. Many games I own have very limited in game graphics options, the advanced settings always needed to be done in the main menu.
