Ah, this reminds me of my friend who always tries to get me to buy PC games and is always saying how they have better graphics. My response was:

"If I really cared about graphics, I would own a PS3, a 360, a Wii or play top end PC games. I don't. I have a DS, a GameCube, an N64, Megadrive, Snes, Gameboy and ZX Spectrum and my most played PC games are The Sims and Age of Mythology."

He always goes on about how games are getting dumbed down too. I don't really see it. Games are supposed to be fun, aren't they? A lot of people don't find complex games fun. So what? It isn't like these games are sacred or anything.

He says they are finished too quickly. Well, I can say in total, the Gameboy version of Dennis the Menace took me over 30 hours to complete. Much longer than many of the popular games seem to last now. However, I would probably have completed DtM in about 3 hours except for one thing: No Continues. Every time you lost all your lives you had to start the game all over again and since it was on the last couple of levels I kept on dying, I had to play for over 2 hours of the easier levels each time just to get back to that point. That's no fun!

In conclusion, just play games you enjoy and if others don't like 'em, who cares?
I could not agree more.

That is an awesome picture. I haven't seen anything of GOW3 so I cannot possibly argue the merits of both.

However, I submit these:

Exhibit Awesome.

And exhibit Epic.

To each his own, but I'm a die-hard PC gamer. Why?

1. I can do a lot more with my PC than just playing games. I can do part of my work at home, write my reports and have no compatibility issues with uni/office computers.

2. Keyboard and a mouse. I know it's a matter of taste and what you're used to, but I find all console controllers extremely unwieldy.

3. I can update, modify or improve my computer easily in a variety of ways, keeping it's performance up during the years. PC games are not locked down to a certain level of performance or a certain hardware combination. This allows for a larger variety in making games as well as allowing them to use the latest advancements far easier. A console's performance level is locked down the day it's put to sale. A counterpoint is that larger cariety of systems results in buggier games for PC precisely because you need to make the game compatible to multiple configurations. But I feel this is a minor inconvenience most of the time.

4. Price. With the price of a single PS3 I could keep my current PC system up to date for over 6 years to come. I'm unsure if I'd still be playing a PS3 after six years. While a brand-new top-of-the-line computer system does cost a lot as well, It can easily be made to run games for ten years with minimal investments.

Your honour, I present exhibit only.

I rest, my case.

I'd prefer my PC to a console if it weren't for the sole fact that PCs for gaming cost thousands of dollars. With a PC there's so much room for modding and additional content. I just about lost it when I started playing around with all the mods for TES III and IV.

In use console and PC for different kinds of games.

PC: RTS, football manager, FPS, MMORPG, RPG

Console: Driving games, 3rd person shooter (MGS series, Splinter Cell, GTA.. you get my drift), Sport Games, JRPGs,

this is somewhat off topic but I'm on an I-phone and it's hard to use the search button..anybody hear of this new onlive thing? Where the games are played remotely on a server and video is streamed back? It sort of combines the best aspects of each platform. Might lag, though..

Arcade gaming is the only real way to game by the way.

So you fatasses enjoy sitting at home alone.
Arcade gaming is the only way to play retro games. Also, I hate trolls.
Pretty sure you can play "retro" games on your computer to man.
Not the same as the old arcade games like Pac-Man and Double Dragon.
Kinda confused, if you are arguing playing games like Double Dragon and Pac-Man are superior on the arcade machines they are made for, I would agree.

I actually don't play the classics as much as I used to though, most of my favorite arcade games came out in the last 2 years.
I see. I thought you meant old school arcade like Pac-Man and Mortal Kombat. What arcade did you mean?

It's not about graphics, controls, community, support, piracy or anything else.
The PC is better because it has MOAR Monkey Island. End of discussion.

OnLive is doomed to failure. There's just no way something like that could work, for a variety of reasons, the most important of them being the cost, followed by lag (how many computers can stream an HD youtube video without buffering for even one second?)

I'm a console gamer only because it's easier. When you get a console, that's it, you can start gaming and not worry about getting $500 graphic cards every couple years. But hey, what ever floats your boat. If I had the money I would just be both.

I will say PC's a superior for RTS's.

I play games on both consoles and PC and they both have their merits, and I can't see what all the fuss is about.
Same here, the differences are next to none for the game, the only differences are modability (PC) and mobility (consoles), generally thats it.

Quote train yay

I simply prefer playing a game on a dedicated arcade machine. I don't even like cabinets that have been swapped around, I like the game to be played exactly the way the creators intended.

I also need to bring up the often-touted "social" aspect of playing online. Its great being able to talk to people all around the world, but doesn't anybody want to go to an arcade, where you can engage in your favorite hobby, while "socializing" with people right next to you, who more than likely live nearby?

As far as arcade games go, I am currently playing the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 expansion a lot, as well as Razing Storm.

Not trolling, I just prefer arcades.
But you called everyone fatasses though. Whenever I play arcade games I usually keep to myself and play the game. I am not very social.
