I have both Xbox and PC.

I prefer the Xbox for the games it has, and the use of controllers, and the easy use of support.

What I mean is, you buy a game for Xbox and pop it in.

PC = Buying it, possibly waiting for it to download, waiting for it to install, attempting to play it, get angry that it doesn't work, read through online forums, try automatics patches, realize that the automatic patches didn't work, attempt to manually patch it, get angry that that doesn't solve the problem, try about 4 other methods described on forums, get it to kind of work, get sick of trying, and just be happy with a game that 80% works.
Wow, I have both and I must say your statement is incredibly incorrect. If you are at 80%, I am pretty sure that is user error. In the last 4 years I can only think of one game I had trouble getting to work correctly, and I have 40+ PC games. As for patches, yeah, PC has them. So does XBox.

As for buying a game, tell you what. You order a console game online and I will order a PC game. I bet I am playing the game about 3 days before you. If you go to a store you will probably pay more. I think I can wait the 1 hour (8 hours for a slow connection) to download a game in order to save money. Of course it takes time for people to get to a store, buy the game, and return (plus the cost of gas). On top of that, for new releases download services often have pre downloads. So there is almost no wait to play a game as soon as it launches. Way faster than having to wait in line for some midnight release.

As for installing a game, it makes load times twice as fast as a console and ten times faster if you have a SSD drive. The overall wait time in game while playing a console with be much, much longer than the time it takes to install. I laugh when I hear console players complain about load times in games when it only takes a few seconds for me.
Okay, maybe for you, they work, but I have horrible luck with everything ever. It took my well over 7 hours to get KOTOR to work, and even then, I couldn't move after combat sequences, but I just gave up and dealt with it.
When was that? Recently or 8 years ago when the game was released? I guess I can't speak on that one since it's been about 8 years since I played it. I don't recall having issues with it though. If it has Windows 7 compatibility issues that can be cleared up by upgrading to W7 Proffesional and running it in XP mode.

Heck, KOTOR has issues if played on the 360.
About a year or two ago. It was actually an issue between the OS AND the graphics card. Supposedly the combination of the two spells bad things for KOTOR and a lot of games surprisingly. Running KOTOR in XP mode made the game go from crashing every 5 minutes to crashing every 7 minutes. I ended up having to rewrite most of the config file.

It's already been acknowledged that KOTOR has issues with windows 7. There are a few fixes now http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1620666

Assuming you haven't already tried these.

I prefer my PC for some games like Oblivion and Battlefield.
And I prefer my 360 for some other games like Mass Effect and Bioshock.

It really just depends.

I don't see how having trouble with such an old game makes consoles any better. XBox games have all kind of issues on the XBox 360 (including KOTOR), and many are not even supported. Sure, if you have an original XBox it would work well, but the same thing could be said if you had an 8 year old computer.

The plus with PC's is you will have a community of fans that actually patch the game for free in order to work. You don't have that with XBox or PS3. You have to hope they do it. If not, you are out of luck.

Surround Sound > Monitor Speakers

I'll always play on console.
I play computer games on a big screen with surround sound. Heck, just get a good headset. If anything sound cards and even on board sound for PC's are far superior to consoles.

My biggest problem with PC's is that the mouse and keyboard just aren't as good as a console controller.
Then use a gamepad. 360 controllers work on a PC.

What PC does not come with atleast 5.1 surround sound support native today and usualy 7.1? So you buy the speakers. well thats cheaper than buying a surround sound system for the TV.

I'm a PC gamer and I personally think that consoles are a good thing. It allows people who don't have the money/interest/etc. to research and buy the best parts for PC and what-not. Yes, PCs are more powerful but that doesn't mean consoles are outdated garbage.

fyi PC has surround sound. That's what selecting "5.1" or higher in the menu of your game does.

Anyone else have another "Derp Consoles are superior Derp" statement? The surround sound one was a good one.

I honestly just prefer the consoles. Call me crazy, but I prefer the controllers. It just feels better in my hands, and I feel like I can do more stuff faster with controllers.

Plus, the modding scene is kind of a con for me for PC gaming. Sometimes I just want to play the game the way it was made, but all these mods and whatnot make that very hard to accomplish.

typically look as good, or almost as good as PC games, without the need to buy some new high performance parts every couple of years.
You do realize of course that if you don't need to upgrade your console to play that latest game at top graphics, neither does a PC for the same game? Your console does not actually upgrade its own parts magically. If you didn't have to upgrade neither do the PC players. Just saying.
