Zareth 30, 2

Stars were being made. Architecture was being experimented with. The blonde woman kept going on about being trapped in limbo and all the while more and more gods revealed themselves. This was all starting to get little too clustered for Zareth's tastes. He had to take a step back away from the main group, who all seemed content to argue and try to out do each other.

It seems they fight over who will be the king and queen of nothing.
Still he had to admit the idea of a place they could each call their own was a nice one. But he couldn't help but think it felt out of place in this expanse. Then he looked over at Roe and Nivix as they crafted their own celestial bodies. Now that's more like it.

He made his way over to the burgeoning solar system and saw Roe shaking his burnt hands. "You should be careful when handling fire." He said waving his hand over Roe's. As he did the ether around them rippled and Roe's hands healed as if they had never been touched.

"This is good work. The two of you should be proud." He called out so that Nivix could hear as well. "I wonder if I could do that?" He pondered turning over his own hands and watching as a pale white light pulsated from them. "Or perhaps I should focus on this meeting place that the others are so interested in?"

A feeling of hesitation ran through him. The others were all so certain of what they were, of why they were here but he still didn't know. What was his purpose in all of this? For now he would have to content himself with helping in whatever small way he could. At least until he had a firm grip on what his power was capable of. He looked across the space and watched as the forest goddess Eldarwen channelled her energy into her staff, and through that the beginnings of a garden.A garden would be a nice addition to this place.

So with that he stretched out his arm and let a piece of his own power flow out from his finger tips and into her staff. Hopefully it would add some fine detail to her creation.

Add +2 Crafting to Eldarwen's roll to create her forest. If I have to put what I intend for that to do then: I'd like to add some patterns and designs to the leaves, trees and flowers. The actual design is up to Wenseph.

Pentar AP30 MP2

Pentar chose to ignore the new being for now and let it squabble with Vantric. It's nonsense could wait. Right now, Pentar needed to contribute to this grand palace they were building. He thought for a moment of what he should make. Perhaps the central meeting room that Seith had proposed. No, that wouldn't be appropriate. Such a room should be forged by all the Gods in equal measure. What then? They would need a place to make laws and punish those that disobeyed them. That was it! Once Seith was finished with his observatory, Pentar spoke up. "I will make a Hall of Justice. Here we will create our laws." He then looked Vantric directly in the eyes. "And punish any who would dare defy them."

In his mind, Pentar imagined a great hall of furnished wood and smooth marble, with a massive podium before a row of lavish benches. Calling upon the same will that brought him into existence, Pentar set to make this vision a reality.

Roe 30, 2

"Thanks mister!" Roe replied to Zareth and danced off, his makeshift hands disappearing back into the glowing spark again. He came over to the group of gods who were building gardens and halls and briefly admired their handiwork, imagining how fun it would be to play in. Before he could try anything though he noticed the figure.

She was humanoid, tall and graceful with long flowing blond hair and dressed in silky red clothing. Roe almost gaped when her saw her, or at-least he would have if he'd had a mouth at that point: she was beautiful like the star he had reached into but not quite in the same way. Compared to the other beings he'd seen so far in the void, she was so... colourful. He approached her cautiously and tugged gently at her dress, keeping his distance this time in case his hands got burned again.

"Excuse me... miss," he asked hesitantly, "how do you look so pretty?"

"Hmm? Who's there? And no, you can't have a piece of my mind; it is my own, and no one else's!"

Maskelyne trembled. Something he understood had touched him, a voice with meaning. And when he cast himself through the infinite abyss to find its source, he saw light and fire and felt the noise of many minds. But it was only one whom had summoned him.

Maskelyne studied the creature with great awe. And a noise like twilight rang somber from Maskelyne's eternal disem-body as form akin function brought him akin in shape to the other gods. It could be said Maskelyne fell. He would have told you he'd plummetted, valiantly, into form.

It was different to see with eyes and stranger to hear with ears but all of Maskelyne's sense were transfixed by his audience of one, the first to pay him mind.

"Who?" Maskelyne said feeling the subtle tremors of spoken voice. He liked them. "Who is the form following the function of what and I doubt any in my fine audience could say with certainty what we are. But only a fool could suggest we aren't." Maskelyne spun dramatically to view the star. And though its vibrant iridescence warmed his spirits, he was disappointing of the noticing. The turn had been so mundane...

A cape fell from the space above Maskelyn, which he caught sprightly and donned with a swirl of vibrant, lace-y red. A top hat spun through the emptiness of the world at high velocity as though thrown by an Olympian seeking to pierce the heart of a foreign galaxy. It might have collided precisely with the left side of Maskelyne's head but for the god's single careful step closer to the shimmering ball of heat. And so instead the chapeau merely orbited a slow and patient circulation of it's master, always an arm's length away.

"Did you make this my industrious friend?" Maskelyne said, never turning. "Do we all of form possess such power? I look into your creation and I see destiny; was it you who put it there?"

Maskelyne turned now to face his audience of one, sillhouetted by the embers of a burnt red sun. He reached for his hat now, and placed it lightly on his head. "I am happier here. You have done me a great service friend. I have been miserable for ... always. But here I am with my greatest brother, the bringer of light. There can be no stage in darkness, afterall.... Thank you."

Maskelyne turned back to the star and gazed in expectation. He raised both arms and trembled lightly. "I must know what is kept in me. Whether it is more fire, a grander frost or death itself, I will not tolerate the question to haunt me. I have been inspired. And our world will know my inspiration."

"Abra-kadabra." Maskelyne whispered. "Alakazam."

Create a gigantic flock of doves. Enough to create a swarm that will block the view on certain planets of other planets. I imagine all the function of a fluidly-moving fog winding between the planets and the sun, but composed of doves.

Seith 30, 2

Seith was allowing the other gods to do what they wished at this moment, nothing of harm had come yet so there was no reason to react. Besides, he was busy. The observatory was almost complete now, weights and balances were adorned in places that wouldn't obscure the vision of Seith. He created another dome slightly above himself, connecting in the middle with a glass chair which Seith had destined to be part of the discussion chamber. The top had several mirrors covering each way that Seith could want.

Other objects began forming around Seith, obscuring his view, he fixed that by willing in other mirrors around the objects and once again, his vision could extend as far as needed. He could hear Pentar speak of hostilities with Vantric, which was less than ideal. He was wondering why they could not see he would be fair, that he would be balanced. It was then that something as great or even better than change came to his mind. Revelations. He thought that perhaps he could share one with the other gods. A seed that he would plant and it would quickly become their own. It was tailored to each of them individually and perfect.

"Seith would make a good leader...wouldn't he? He seems to wish for balance, fairness."

Seith has taken two actions now. He first made a large observatory with mirrors allowing him to see everything going on everywhere. If he can not see something he will create more mirrors to allow this. For this he used his +6 Change. He also put a thought in everyone's head, though it is tailored to each of you, the bolded idea is just a generalization. For example Vantric would think that while Seith isn't ideal, he is a lot better than Pentar and working with him could further himself. Something like that. For this he used his +6 Revelations and his +6 change for a change in thoughts. This adds to a +12.

Melanthios 30, 2

Melanthios listened to the other gods discussing a range of subjects. He eventually lost interest and began to look around, he began to study the void instead of joining the conversation. The other gods started talking about creating things.

"We are indeed real, it appears you have joined us and our purpose, there is always room for more. We were just discussing a home." There were planning to make a home? Interesting.

"No, I say that we all create it together. While I'm sure one god could create something amazing, having us all use our powers to create it should make it the greatest construction in all of existence."

"We should most certainly try. Perhaps we each make a portion and then combine on a meeting hall in the center. I could make a place to observe from...to bring light to our creations."

Melanthios also wanted to make something, he eventually decided to make a library. He would store all of his knowledge inside of it, and he would expand it with everything he would learn. "Creating such a impressive structure sounds like a good idea, I would like to help too. I will make a library which will serve as a place to store knowledge."

Melanthios stretched out his hand and magic began to gather around it. His magic would allow him to create a library. He wondered if he should name the library, it seemed appropriate for the first library to come into existence. He decided to name it the library of the gods, not very original but it would have to do for now. Melanthios closed his eyes and focused. Magic began to gather around him, as his spell began to create the library.

Nivix - 23, 2

"Who? Who is the form following the function of what and I doubt any in my fine audience could say with certainty what we are. But only a fool could suggest we aren't."

Nivix, having expected a fairly straightforward answer, found himself more than a little bemused by the newcomer's verbose reply. Nevertheless, he turned his attention to the form garbed in black and scarlet; if nothing else, the interloper should serve as quite the distraction.

"Did you make this my industrious friend? Do we all of form possess such power? I look into your creation and I see destiny; was it you who put it there?"

And now the newcomer was facing his creation, admiring it and praising him for it. A sense of pride surged through Nivix's thoughts, but still he remained quiet, eager to see where this was going.

"I am happier here. You have done me a great service friend. I have been miserable for ... always. But here I am with my greatest brother, the bringer of light. There can be no stage in darkness, afterall.... Thank you."

There was a small part of Nivix's mind that struggled for attention, that tried to point out that the newcomer was merely making false claims of flattery. He should not fall for this newcomer's ploy, he must be vigilant, cautious, and remain above such base trickery.

Said part was crushed into silence and ferociously ignored.

"I must know what is kept in me. Whether it is more fire, a grander frost or death itself, I will not tolerate the question to haunt me. I have been inspired. And our world will know my inspiration.

"Abra-kadabra. Alakazam."

"...Heh. Hahahahaha."

It was only after he started clapping that Nivix realized he now possessed arms. But there was nothing for it; he needed to express his amusement, and this motion seemed to fit it so perfectly! Building from a slow start to a rousing crescendo of claps, Nivix showered Maskelyne with his accolades, roaring with laughter all the while.

"Hahahahaha! Oh, brother, that was truly MAGNIFICENT! A performance worthy of the heavens and gods themselves!"

With a final burst of mirth, Nivix flung his new limbs wide apart, his voice dancing with manic energy. "Me?! A bringer of light?! I had never thought to imagine such absurdity; I thank you for showing me just how bizarre words and thoughts can be!"

Slowly, Nivix's form began to shift from its crude, undefined shape into a frame not unlike Maskelyne's. However, where his brother was clad in crimson and void, Nivix conjured a dress of colors he found more appealing. Reds, oranges, and yellows were splashed haphazardly across his new clothes, and silver, glimmering accessories with no clear design or purpose slung themselves around his arms and shoulders.

"Inspiration is a gift, willingly and intentionally given from one to another! So how can I have inspired you, brother, when I created only with selfish intent?! This creation is for me, and me alone! Any who claim to take inspiration from it, or who dare try and take it for themselves, will earn nothing but my absolute wrath!"

Nivix found himself unable to resist one last burst of laughter, and he hurled his head back in an attempt to express the full amount of his enjoyment. "Thank you, brother! My name is Nivix. Now tell me, what can I call you?"

Ailish ? 2, 30

"Excuse me... miss, how do you look so pretty?"

The dice in Ailish's head shook as a new soul had spoken, one that spoke more simply than the other. Especially with what he asked. Something about his question triggered something in the goddess? memories.

'Your beauty represents your fealty.'

"I... it has to do with something, but I dunno..." The memory made little sense, and she wondered just what context that was meant. But her mind snapped back to the cosmos.

"Who might you be?" she smiled, the others had faded away from her mind. Her gaze locked to the little one, but there was enough presence of mind to aid the plans for a garden. If the group could not help create a portal back to the Heavens, then the coming patch of green could.

Zareth 30,2

Zareth composed himself after adding his power to Eldarwen's. She seemed to have a fiery and fierce temperament but that wasn't a bad thing. It was the kind of attitude they would need if they were to get anything done in this place. The way she held herself and the vibrant colours of her form made her stand out in the void like a rose against the night. A rose... now there's an idea.

"Creating such a impressive structure sounds like a good idea, I would like to help too. I will make a library which will serve as a place to store knowledge." Said the shadowy figure that was Melanthios.

"And there's another one." Zareth laughed under his breath. He had just been thinking about libraries just an hour ago. Or was it a day? A second? Time was so strange in this place.

He may not have thought of a place to make for himself yet but Zareth was not about to let that stop him helping the others. And with a snap of his fingers and a flick of his wrist he sent a burst of energy in all direction. There for the other gods to harness in the crafting of their new homes. I hope that helps. Everyone should have a place to call their own.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw a flamboyant, caped figure swoop in from nowhere before he started rambling on about fire and life... and then there were birds.... that part was just confusing. Do I really want to know?

Then it was there.

"Seith would make a good leader...wouldn't he? He seems to wish for balance, fairness."

What was that? Was it his thought? It felt pleasant and yet so strange, barely more than an echo of a whisper. it felt almost, foreign. Something felt wrong. He searched the depths of his mind for the origin of the thought. If it was his then why did it feel so sudden. Almost out of place. He concentrated his power inwards. If there was something wrong here he would get to the bottom of it and purge any outside influence from himself.

Actions in need of resolution:
+2 Crafting added to Eldarwen's roll for garden
+2 Crafting added to Melanthios' roll for library.
+2 Crafting dded to any god who is making a structure and would like the assistance.

Vantric 30, 2

Seith seemed to ignore him, preoccupied with his construction. It was impressive, Vantric had to admit. He still couldn't quite understand its purpose, Seith had mentioned earlier that it was to keep watch over creation and what was to come. The how of it all still escaped him, but he didn't doubt that it was within Seith's domain. Definitely worth investigating, he made a note.

A sudden loud, new voice ripped through the air, signalling the arrival of yet another new entity. The new figure was busy talking, it seemed obsessed with the activity and focused its attention on one of the others. Nivix? Yes, that was it. Vantric hadn't taken note of the being, Seith had commanded the bulk of his attention, as had the delusional female. Those two would be worth speaking with. There had to be some potential in this lot, somewhere.

Vantric had his attention shaken again when Pentar spoke again.

"I will make a Hall of Justice. Here we will create our laws. And punish any who would dare defy them."

He could only sigh at this new development. Pentar seemed determined to make him his enemy. Not that he expected any different, but he at least expected that it would wait until after they had begun laying the foundations for the advancement of creation. "I will create my own territory then." It would be a great structure. The previous concept returned. Yes. A citadel, impregnable. The perfect place to begin his ascent through the ranks.

Seith would make a good leader...wouldn't he? He seems to wish for balance, fairness.

Wait...What? That didn't seem quite right. He set to work on his portion of the creation. Where had that thought come from, he wondered...

The Storyteller

The children crowded around the Storyteller as he spoke of the myths of the beginning

The Sun and the Beginning

"In the beginning, there was naught but gods. The first to speak was Zareth, the Ghost Father. He was shortly followed by the other gods, who spoke between themselves, learning who they were, for they were as new to this universe as a newborn babe is to the world. Eventually, Nivix broke off from the group, using fire and his inherent knowledge and destructive powers to create a massive ball of fire- lighting up the universe. A lone dot in the darkness, shining bright on nothing. Curious about the new object- the first object- Roe grabbed a handful of Niv, unknowing of it's heat. As he picked a piece of it up, it burned his hands, causing him to drop it. Removed from it's parent, the child-star cooled into a small ball, into what would become the First Planet- Roe. However, Roe's Mistake also slightly destabilized Niv, and at some point it will fail and destroy us all."

The Storyteller paused and looked up at the sky, watching the white line stream across the sky.

"Maskelyne, in her strange wisdom, decided to create a stream of doves, flying between Niv and Roe, and circling around. It was that action that gave us the Way of Doves, which defines our sky today."

(Success on all actions regarding the star. The fact that the sun will fail is known to all cultures despite the version of the myth their gods give them.)

The Creation of the Hallowed Court

"As the Queen of Nature looked onto the Void, she despaired. There were no trees, no life to flourish. Listening to the gods speak of making a place for themselves, she thought of a garden, weaving it into existance with the assistance of both Ailish and Zareth, the Tranquiline Gardens came into existance. The first place in what would be known as the Hallowed Court. It is said that those who sit under the branches of the trees in the garden feel true love as they marvel at the beauty in the leaves of the tree.

"Following the Treemother's way, the gods began to create their own homes in the Court. Vantric, with his impregnable fortress. Seith, with his Hall of Mirrors. Methanthos, with the great Library of the Gods. However, when Pentar attempted to create his domain, something went wrong. While the Court he attempted to build came up, the cosmere seemed to twist his intent in some way. For instead of a court of order and justice in the name of good, a kangaroo court of devils came into existance. Whether it was a random warping of the cosmere, or something more sinster, nobody today knows. All that is really known is that Hell's Court came into being at the Beginning."

(Almost all of you succeeded, except for Pentar- sorry mate. However, I will not be announcing who made which rolls until the storyteller post is up from now on. You fail your roll, you fail. No using metagame knowledge to attempt to avoid that.)

Also guys, please bold your character name at the top of your post. Also subtract all AP when you make your action, as well as announce how much the action is costing your, rather than just deducting them when the action resolves.

Eldarwen 22 AP, 2 MP

She was surprised to feel the powers of two other gods flowing through her staff and into her creation. At first it frightened her, as she had no way of knowing if they were helping her or twisting the garden.

Eldarwen unleashed the powers anyway and let them become a part of the garden. Hoping that no one had tried to hurt her already. When the garden sprang forth, it filled her with a strange emotion of completeness. One she couldn't remember feeling before, and it seemed to come from the trees and the flowers themselves. They were exceptionally beautiful, she noticed upon closer inspection.

She couldn't feel anything twisted or wrong. It was an odd realization that they had helped her.

"Thank you." Eldarwen said, happy to have made herself a home, even if that emotion lingered in the air. Strolling through the grass and field of flowers, she decided that she might actually like it. "What do you call this... feeling?"

Seith 23 AP, 2MP

It was done, it was perfect and...someone had helped. Teamwork and peace...yes of course they would be the key from now on! Seith had to find allies to ensure his purpose was fulfilled past the object of observation. The one who had aided him had also aided others and while the creature's purpose was surrounded in mystery, Seith felt that it could help him achieve balance...achieve purpose. Seith was beginning to like the others, but for now he had to marvel at his creation. The other god had helped, but most of this came from Seith and he was proud. With it, he could see everything happening everywhere without even concentrating. He could observe everything at once, nothing would hide from his light. Seith stepped out of his observatory and entered the garden. It felt serene and he could appreciate it. Ever changing in a fair environment...yes it would do nicely.

"What do you call this... feeling?"

Seith realized that he had no word for his current state of being. Was joy a good word to use? Something told him it was.

He turned his gaze to the planet and images rushed to his head. He stopped them for a moment and addressed the goddess.

"I would imagine we feel...joy towards our creations. Perhaps you could do what you did here to the planet? I feel we can do much more than just this and..."

Seith began thinking of other creatures, lesser than him but at the same time more...he could give them his gift...his gift of sentience.

"I think I have a greater purpose for us than a home...we are to make more creatures that are like us...but not the same. We need to try. Perhaps while our friend makes plants, we can work on creatures to inhabit the planet! Then I can finish the masterpiece...the masterpiece of...sentience."

Vantric: 23, 2

Vantric felt the creation take shape as he directed his will into forging the great structure his mind had conjured. It was surprising, though not unwelcome, that another energy flowed into his creation. He was shocked, he had not asked for help, nor had he sought it particularly, though someone had decided to aid him with his own creation. Vantric wasn't certain whether this was a good thing or a bad thing. Something to decide on later, he thought, and continued to forge his home.

It wasn't long before it was finished. The fortress was as he imagined it, a vast structure of dark grey stone, along it ran black metal, reinforcing the edifice and helping provide support. Overhead were many great towers reaching toward the infinite void on to the edge of sight, but what he really was proud of, he smiled, couldn't be seen. Below the base of the citadel were deep catacombs and tunnels, labyrinthine and hidden, far beyond the sight of others. They would serve well in the coming days. Hopefully whoever aided in his creation didn't know about them.

Vantric stood before the dark metal gates and turned toward his fellow creators. Nearby, it seemed that Eldarwen and Seith had finished the garden. He would need to look at it in a moment, but he had to make his announcement first.

With a sweep of his arm, Vantric gestured toward the great citadel. It was time to name his creation. "I would like to introduce you all to my great work. It shall be known as the Grand Ascension." He let the others marvel at his work as he turned toward the garden. Seith seemed to be talking about some new project, and Vantric was interested.

"I think I have a greater purpose for us than a home...we are to make more creatures that are like us...but not the same. We need to try. Perhaps while our friend makes plants, we can work on creatures to inhabit the planet! Then I can finish the masterpiece...the masterpiece of...sentience."

Sentience? It was a word Vantric thought about for a moment. Slowly a definition came to him. Sentience: the awareness of oneself and one's being, operating on a higher plane of thought. For some reason, the thought invigorated Vantric. Creating others who would aid them, who would populate their existence. Something about the thought of making these lesser creatures Seith was talking about resonated with him.

"Seith, I couldn't help but overhear your new project. I would help you with it."

Roe looked down and his spark form's glow unconsciously took on a slight reddish tinge. If he had had feet by this point he probably would have shuffled them.

"I'm called Roe, I'm new," he simply said, barely noticing that around the pair a multitude of new structures were being built as they spoke. "What's your name miss?" he asked, then quickly added "Do you need any help?" hoping he could be useful to her in some way.

M'endaxius - 27/30 AP, 2/2 MP

Ignored and alone, M'endar toyed with the mud in the new garden with its foot, as the greenery just wilted when its naked hand touched it. He had watched as the new sun and planet burst into view and now M'endar watched from the outskirts of talk of sentient beings. Surely it would not hurt to do some pratice of its own? M'endar sighed, not knowing what it would create, its imagination stuck on images of itself. However, M'endar wanted to be noticed, wanted to be seen as the shaper of living animals, not the plants of the tree woman. He focused on the mud.

It had just been shaped into a blob by the movements of its foot. Yes, it would be a black blob [http://lemontree.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/02/19/9125_dablob.jpg] that crawled along the floor. But what would its purpose be? As M'endar knew nothing except chaos and corruption, it decided upon a scavenger, a bottom-feeder. A creature that would absorb all the rotten things that would otherwise pile up in the world and spread it about. It would be a simple organism, able to adapt to any location. It would be viewed as both a blessing and a curse, getting rid the dead things, but spreading a pestilence of its own.

Disease and famine. But the job they would do would be worth it. But a name, a name. M'endar hissed and listened to the sound he made, aaaaaask. Yes, that would be their name, the Aask, and they would be first to inhabit the newly created planet. He imagined a multitude of the little blobs, picked up a handful of mud and willed them into creation.

Melanthios 23, 2

Melanthios felt power focusing around him. But not all of it was his, the god named Zareth was helping him. He was surprised by this action, he wondered why he had helped him. The library came into existence, It took the shape of a small room. But once the doors were opened they would show bookcases going on for miles. There were 2 large doors wooden doors on the front, Melanthios held the only key to the library. And suddenly it hit him, Zareth had shown him kindness. Melanthios was unsure why, but he had helped him. "What do you call this... feeling?" Melanthios felt good inside. "I would imagine we feel...joy towards our creations." Joy? It seemed to fit the feeling he had.

"I think I have a greater purpose for us than a home...we are to make more creatures that are like us...but not the same. We need to try. Perhaps while our friend makes plants, we can work on creatures to inhabit the planet! Then I can finish the masterpiece...the masterpiece of...sentience." Creating such creatures would be a legendary feat. Melanthios decided he would make his own creature. A race who would know magic, and who would value knowledge.

Melanthios looked at Zareth. He then spotted M'endar who had been all alone up until now. He got an idea, about how he could show kindness to someone else. He flew over to Zareth, he stopped when he was close to him. "Greetings Zareth, I want to thank you for helping me. You have helped me even though you had no reason too, I believe this is called kindness. I want to give you something for helping me. I would like to invite you to be one of the first to see the inside of my library." Melanthios tried to smile to show his appreciation for his help. It felt strange smiling at Zareth, but not in a bad way.

Melanthios looked at M'endar who was still alone. "And as you have shown me kindness, I want to show kindness to others. If you are interested in a tour of the inside of the library, I would like to ask for you to fly over to the library. There is one more person I have to convince to join the tour." Melanthios smiled once more and then turned around. He began to fly towards M'endar. As soon as he reached him/her/it he looked at M'endar. He saw that he was busy with creating something, he still decided to talk to him. "Greetings M'endar. I would like to offer you a tour inside the library of the gods. If you are interested that is." Melanthios once again smiled, showing that he wasn't planning anything bad. It was just an invitation.

Maskelyne. 30 - 2

Maskelyne marveled at the sight of his own creation. The field of endless winged creatures clothed in purest white twirled and soared between Niv and Roe, and Maskelyne knew then the wonders of creation. The greatest spectacle of being, this was what he lived for; it was the kindest function of his birth.

"Hahahahaha! Oh, brother, that was truly MAGNIFICENT! A performance worthy of the heavens and gods themselves! Me?! A bringer of light?! I had never thought to imagine such absurdity; I thank you for showing me just how bizarre words and thoughts can be!"

Maskelyne turned on the ball of his foot as a his cape delicately whisked in a breeze that was not real. His summoner, the audience, his brother of creation, clapped great bursts of sound between his hands. The cacophony rewarded Maskelyne more than there were words to name. It was instinct that brought the young god low, his form bent in theatrical humility. Maskelyne wondered for a moment if this was some strength of his brother, but the praise was too strong to resist and the joy of the bow warmed Maskelyne like the embrace of a lover delicately pressed against his heart. Maskelyne laughed once, never departing from the bow.

"Thank you, brother! My name is Nivix. Now tell me, what can I call you?"

Maskelyne ascended from his bow with a smile painted on his lips. "My name is both heavy and vast." He told the light-bringer, displaying one palm raised to the infinite heavens. "It will not reliably bring you fortune, and yet may carry many burdens. To you I give it freely, brother. Maskelyne, this form has been, and always shall remain."

The god reached his hand forward, never parting its focus from the ascended absence. "You may take it, if you wish. But tell me, Nivix my brilliant audience, if I may not take inspiration from your child Niv, where must it be found? Your creations excites me. My creation bewilders and enchants. I wonder what we may accomplish in tandem, your genius and mine united for a common goal. Perhaps from thence inspiration may flow? After all, it would be neither mine nor yours, but ours. And we might share it with creation."

Maskelyne stepped forward resolutely, as poltergeists of premonitions flew from his outstretched palm. "Won't you take my hand brother? I cannot steal your cooperation. nor your friendship. It must be volunteered."

Pentar 22AP 2MP
Pentar looked in horror at the new hall. The masonry was not made of the white marble of his vision, but of pitch black obsidian. The wood, as well, was a bastardization of his intention. Instead of the smooth, tan surfaces of Pentar?s imagination, the benches and podium was rough and dark. Something?s gone wrong. Pentar thought. Someone must have disrupted its creation, mangled it in their own image. But even as the thought entered his mind, Pentar knew it wasn't so. The Hall before him, this Hell Court, was of his own creation.

There were creatures milling about as well. Their hooved feet, horns, and red skin inspired disgust in Pentar, and he expected them to start jumping about and causing destruction. But they did no such thing. In fact, they seemed to be communicating with each other in some primitive way, sharing ideas in an orderly fashion. Pentar reached into their minds, trying to decipher how they think, if they even did. What he found was a kind of mimic of his own and the other Gods, but much simpler and more primitive. Pentar figured that he mine as well try communicating with his creations. He manifested himself in a form they could see; similar to his god-form but standing at their height and with a pair of horns jutting out of his forehead. He approached one who seemed to hold some influence with the others. Each one looked at his form in awe and wonder, clearly curious of what he might be but fully aware that they were in the presence of a being of power. The individual Pentar chose to approach seemed almost surprised when he stopped before him. ?What are you, creature?? Pentar proclaimed, his booming voice echoing throughout the Court for all of its inhabitants to hear.

Zareth 30,2

"Greetings Zareth, I want to thank you for helping me. You have helped me even though you had no reason too, I believe this is called kindness. I want to give you something for helping me. I would like to invite you to be one of the first to see the inside of my library. And as you have shown me kindness, I want to show kindness to others. If you are interested in a tour of the inside of the library, I would like to ask for you to fly over to the library. There is one more person I have to convince to join the tour."

Zareth had to admit, he was taken aback by the invitation but no less pleased by it. "It would be my honour." He said to Melanthios before the dark figure darted away in the direction of Eldarwen's garden.

It had turned out nicely. Each of his fellows seemed very pleased by the outcome of their labours. And they were right to be each of their creations said something about them, each one sang out with its own unique beauty. He took a moment to let the sights sink in. I wonder if Eldarwen will allow me to visit her garden? It looked like a soothing place, somewhere nice to sit and relax. He wasn't sure about Pentar's hall though. Did he mean for it to come out that way? I didn't expect him to be into that kind of thing.

He couldn't help but be impressed by the library interior. It seemed both endless and homely at the same time. He walked through the rows of shelves in silence. occasionally stopping to take a book off of the shelves. They were all blank. It made sense, there was nothing in existence to be written about yet. Good to know we'll have plenty of paper when there is.

After wandering for some time Zareth found a space where the rows met like a crossroads. In its centre was a small fire pit giving off a warm glow that seamlessly merged with the ambient light that existed within the library walls. Around it were a set of grand leather chairs, each one with a small book table at its right hand. "Hmm." This intrigued him.

Zareth flew through the ongoing halls of the library like a grey shadow before finding his way
back to the entrance. There reading places were everywhere, scattered at regular positions throughout the structure. Places to read in peace or to sit and talk with friends. Friends...

That settled it. Zareth did not know about things like politics, alliances or forces. But he knew that right now the people assembled here were all each other had. And if they were to be anything, then they would be friends. They were off to a strange start. Perhaps he could help.

light ebbed forth from his hand and out of the ether formed a table, on top of it was a collection of books, identical in shape, size and design. Where they did differ was that emblazoned in gold leaf on each of their fronts was the name of one of the gods outside. And their colours were altered so that they might better suit the god they were named for. Other than that each of them was blank, waiting to be filled. They would be a good start for the library.

Then with gentle care he conjured a piece of card, written on it was a simple message.

A gift

- Zareth

He smiled at the collection. It was simple but nice. He hoped each of the gods liked them. Then a thought struck him. Perhaps I should have waited for Melanthios to actually give me the tour before wandering about like this. "Aaaah." He he groaned, a little embarrassed.

Conjure up a small quantity of books = Effortless
