To me, PETA are a group who still havent grasped the fact that life is cruel, and no matter how hard you try you cannot manipulate that. Animal rights are a luxury. If the world turned to shit tomorrow, and you start bitchslapping people because they are eating rabbits because there is absolutely nothing else you have severely misunderstood survival of the fittest.

Hell, this comes from a religious person

I love animals.Their cute and furry and make good friends. But if you dont eat meat youll be weak from lack of protein.Did you see what happened to Rolf on Ed Edd and Eddy when he cut meat from his diet?Plus PETA (Or Dipshits United) act like a Narwhal could be the freaking President.Lets face it.SOME animals are smart.Just because SOME animals are smart dosen't meen all of em can be kept off a platter. And why is PETA acting like class pets are in the Hamster Holocaust?Animals fuck each other up in the wild EVERDAY.Are lions supposed to be eating tofu?In a way were animals like too.We need food, water, and shelter.By the way isn't it weird that PETA is always defending "cute" animals.

In short PETA.Shut the fuck up and get your info together.
Now in their defense, they do got a point. If you ever bother to look into what goes into the slaughtering of a cow, it all sounds pretty horrific. It doesn't get me to the point were I stop eating meat but it does make me appreciate and look at my hamburger a little bit differently.

That being said, they're dicks with their message. so fuck 'em.

It really amazes me just how blind PETA followers can be. Do they not even know the goals of the group that they are giving their hard earned dollars?

I know several pet owners who donate to PETA and will not listen when I say that PETA is against the idea of owning pets. Even that children's site blatantly states this. Also, it is a special type of jerk who wants to take away a seeing-eye dog away from a blind man. Yet, that is another goal of the group.

I'm at least glad that I'm not the only one that was going to Youtube to hunt down a link to the Bullshit episode. Very informative and a great watch.

God I hate PETA, I hate them for their methods, I can't even stand the thing they stand for. They basically stand for treating animals better than other human beings. Maddox brings up a decent point too. However take the video with a grain of salt, it's satire after all, but do keep in mind that nothing is ever "just satire".

RANT ALERT BELOW!!!:

"...Of course not! Animals, like cows, sheep, and raccoons, are so cute that when you see them, you can?t help but smile from ear to ear ? admit it. But when factory farmers, fur farmers and trappers, and some designers look at animals, all they see is future clothing, accessories, and dollar signs..." Quoted: PETA for kids website

So let me get this straight...business people and workers who have to feed their families...see animals in their trade of work as profit...WOW...I COULD'VE NEVER GUESSED! The way this site is talking to kids is the same as Propaganda, trying to convince kids that corporations and businesses are evil and that PETA is the good guys.

Also I noticed on their site how they bash the use of animal clothing/products?...WELL WTF! Animal products like leather aren't made from animals specifically killed for it, leather comes from the hide of cows/other animals that are being killed for meat, it's basically recycling parts of animals that most people won't eat. Usually a slaugtherhouse will have a contract with a tanning company to supply hides from animals so that new products can be made, which is also enviromentally friendly in the fact that it takes less pollution to treat leather than it does to chemically create a whole new product from scratch. Or wool is still used because it is one of the best NATURAL insulators in clothing. Unless you live in South America or other Southern Continents, I'm pretty sure you'll be wanting some nice warm wool clothing in the middle of winter. Plus wool is like human hair, IT GROWS BACK! Sheering a sheep in the summer is GREAT for them since it allows them to not die of heat stroke, plus it grows back by winter and then THEY can stay warm.

The SHEER ignorance of these blind cultist PETA members who try and brainwash people with Propaganda is disgusting! They know they can't brainwash the majority of adults so now they target the children! I eat meat, I love meat, and I'll always eat meat, so leave me alone and let me live my life! I don't care if you eat meat or not, it's something that we do naturally because we are Omnivores our bodies naturally cannot survive of Meat or Plants alone, so eat what you want and I'll eat what I want.

Do you know what they are used for?
CUTTING THROUGH MEAT.
Not a tough salad.

What is with me lately? I'm doubting all these 'lovely' organisations?
Like the 'indisputable word of god'?

This comment is why this site needs an up voting system.
To the contrary!
This is why the site doesn't need a voting system. If we had one, people would just spend threads reciting the oldest puns ever made, hoping that some people who haven't seen it will vote it up.
(What I'm trying to say is that noslensalkcin didn't come up with that one.)

OT: Well, PETA aren't sane people, what did you expect from them?

I'm happy that someone brought up the ALF here, because It's 3AM, just got home from a "close friend's" and I'm royally pissed at my roommate.

I believe that Penn Jillette and Teller [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penn_%26_Teller#Penn_.26_Teller:_Bullshit.21] took note that PETA had funneled money to groups like the ALF (Including them) as well as provide a hefty bonus to a kind man who regularly builds and uses "Crude Incendiary Devices." It's not exactly a secret where he uses them, but there's a video of him in a collage telling people how to make one.

Oh, did I mention that the President, Ingrid of PETA rely on animal insulin to stay alive? Diabetes, man. I honestly don't know what I'd do if I got it, but according to PETA, everyone who needs insulin shouldn't get it, because animals may be harmed to produce it.

Also, Cid is right, PETA also euthanize's roughly 85% of the animals they save as of 2007. Although, PETA itself won't "blow up a pet store." No, death threats and vandalism, from them.

WTF PETA? Don't mess with the kids... seriously...

Now, on to why I quoted this.

It's a good reasoning, and sound, but I'd like to point out that diabetes can be cured by a high intake of magnesium and potassium if its the type where you just don't produce enough insulin.

Example: My grandmother was diabetic for most of her life before she started taking potassium supplements.

More fuel to the fire...

And more quotes that show the impression on young children is ethically wrong:
Meet with the instructor right away [On animal DIssection]and tell him or her that you can not participate in the dissection because of your "sincerely held religious and moral beliefs about the sanctity of all life," and ask for a non-animal alternative. These words provide the basis for a possible legal case. (You do not have to support any formal religion; the courts have interpreted a belief that animals should not be killed for classroom dissection to be a religious belief, which schools can not violate.)"

According to that webste animals in zoos are forced to walk around on their hind legs, which is something they never do in the wild....

Er What you mean elephants don't sometimes raise up on their hind legs, tigers don't do it as they prepare to jump or pounce ? Horses rear up all the damn time especially when scared.

PETA are stupid. The people who lump all animal rights advocates into the same boat as PETA are stupider.

I've also noticed that some people like comparing animal rights advocates to religious people, who try to "push their ideals" on others. That's just ridiculous. If anything, people who believe that, as humans, we have an inexplicable right to do whatever the fuck we want to other creatures simply by virtue of us being human, rings far more of "well, we're God's favourites and this earth belongs to us" than anything a vegetarian has ever said. I like to think that one day in the very distant future (because, well, let's be realistic) slaughtering animals will be phased out in favour of less fucked up and more efficient methods of production. The eating of meat will be looked back upon in horror and disgust by our space brethren, the same way we look back on the days of genuine racism and sexism.

I would like to point out that on the PetaKids site, you know the topic, that PETA heavily endorses claiming religious reasons as a way to present your arguments on things like dissection due to legal presedence.

So On the one hand, you have a point.

THe only problem is that PETA already heavily considered how to best screw it over with the least ethical way possible.

My class pet isn't caged up, the bird (this is high school and the teacher is awesome) sits on its stand and goes to someone whenever it wants attention, it gets regular food and gets to bite whoever it wants without punishment.
That sounds awsome, and I like the idea of it thinking 'Fuck im bored, lets go peck someones eyes out!'
Seriously though I wish I had a class bird.

ANd just to stay on topic PETA is shit on a plate.
