How is it PETA is the only organization to recognize Video Games a legitimate medium? I mean really? PETA?
I know, right? Next it'll be scientologists.
PETA are an independent, liberally minded group with a generally younger-than-average membership and a passion for a cause - they are effectively the only group likely to catch on at this point.
Yes, but, like scientologists, they are also pants-on-head retarded.
And you would go about showing people how these animals are treated how? They tried peaceful solutions and they just got called hippies and written off. Now they try to be a bit more in your face.
Yeah there's a difference between being in your face and being a nazi. They are the latter.

The headline that PeTA likes video games makes me want to put my consoles in a sack and hurl the sack into a river and hurl the river into space. (ten points to whoever gets the reference)

I wouldn't mind them being "in [my] face" so much if they didn't lie so much. Telling primary-school kids that drinking milk will make your face break out in zits... or that they're "rescuing" animals only to kill them...

If you have to lie to get your point across, your point's not worth making.

Sure, their meat will be stringy and probably poisonous, but we'll be making a point.
I dunno, as long as you tenderise it first and marinate it well, could be quite succulent.

Can anyone else see this backfiring massively on PETA? Whilst they have a valid point to be putting across sooner or later they are going to step on someone's toes. Someone without the same level of humour as Majesco and an army of Lawyers.
Or they'll come up with something so horrific it only gains them negative publicity.

PETA needs to calm down this is the third or four thing i have head from them in two months. They started off on some baseball player for saying his favorite food was Spam and now this thing with Cooking Mama. oh and when did two games make "so many" does that mean i can claim i have made a lot because i did some crappy C++ games.

Mama Kills Animals wasn't meant as an attack on either the Cooking Mama series or publisher Majesco [http://www.majescoentertainment.com/], the group claimed...
I love how PETA said that in a press release when there's a blood-stained Majesco logo in the picture of the opening post. Did anyone else see that after reading their statement and think that was kinda odd?

They're claiming it was tongue in cheek because they don't want to get Sued. Personally I think Majesco made a mistake by not hammering these pricks legally.

Funnily enough, I didn't know anything about gutting a Turkey before playing this game, now my Christmas dinner list shall include a Turkey... I think I'm going to make a PETA cookery program, with some seriously fucked off presenter angrily showing everyone how to a chicken dinner from scratch or something; "And you pull the f*king giblets out like THIS you f*king animals..."

Considering that herbivore animals tend to taste better, I wonder if human vegetarians/vegans taste better than human meat eaters?

Anyone know some primitive Melanesian tribesmen we could get together for a tasting panel?

...overlooking the fact that most people do not care.

The last time I checked, meat is dead; why should I or anyone give a damn if it had 'a happy life'? It's dead and I just cooked and ate it. It's irrelevant. It's only purpose is to be killed, cooked and eaten.
Thank you for giving me the perfect example of why PETA keep doing this.

For the record, I am not a member of PETA. What I am is a person who doesn't believe that animals should be born into a living hell and then slaughtered just cause you guys prefer the taste slightly over tofu.
Well that and humans are omnivores thanks to evolution and meat (and meat byproducts such as milk) carries essential nutrients the body needs to work properly, but why let facts get in the way of outright lying, right?

And i'm sure all animals are born into a living hell, like having a free-range pasture to roam in like the farm in the town over from my hometown, oh wait.

did anyone click on the mama kills it name at the begining of article it takes you to this "game" which is the most graphic and a little creepy thing i have ever played. i cant believe that someone could program something like that. the programer should be taken away from the stream of humanity and kept from reproducing or socializing because thats where killers come from. Whats with the blood stained logo?

Actually, I prefer the taste VASTLY over tofu, but that's beside the point. I have no problem with vegetarians and vegans... they can eat what they want to eat, no skin off my nose. PETA on the other hand tries to dictate what I should be eating, wearing, caring for, using, etc. They'd like me to stop eating meat (my ancestors did NOT claw their way to the top of the food chain so I could eat lettuce), they demand I stop wearing leather (find me another natural material that works, wears and protects as well and we'll talk), they don't even want me keeping my beloved pets! If they had their way, I wouldn't even be allowed to take the gelatin capsules I take for my joints.

So, no problem with vegetarian types. I think the way they choose to eat is a bit unnatural, but it isn't my body, so it's none of my business. PETA tries to ram their morality down other people's throats, and that doesn't sit well with me.

I'm wondering whether or not PETA had any involvement with the creation of DEHTA (Druids for the Ethical and Humane Treatment of Animals) in the new WoW expansion. For those of you that don't play, they are a small group in the game that sends you on quests to kill poachers and rescue trapped animals.

While it's likely that Blizzard simply inserted them into the game as a reference to PETA, with all this "video game" related press PETA is creating I can't help but wonder if they, perhaps, had something to do with it.
