PETA, I can understand you want to help animals. But defecating on my hobby doing that is not the way to do it.

That said, PISS OFF.

But I'm ignoring the reason why we're looking at this post to begin with, the game. SealSlalom is a lot like SkiFree, but with no yetis that come along and eat you. Also, the seal hunters never spawn anywhere other than along the right edge of the screen, and seeing how the object is to avoid them, the difficulty falls somewhere between easy and insultingly easy.

PETA leaves poor information about the seal hunt and greatly misrepresents it. The footage they use is nearly 20 years old they don't club seals anymore they use rifles, the seals are overpopulated and destroying their own food source, and very few baby seals are killed if at all. PETA has no idea what they talking about and has to resort to shock campaigns to get any support.

I just played it, and at first I was scared that if I ran into a person I would see some seal blood all around. And it was on PETA for kids. >.<
But it seems as if you can't die in that game, even if the hunter is covered in blood

I honestly didn't think Canada would be the kind of country to have a freaking annual Seal Hunt. I'm actually pretty disappointed about that.
It's not as bad as, say, American slaughterhouses.

I am SICK and TIRED of people freaking out about the seal hunt, considering that calves have eyes <link=http://x59.xanga.com/3d1c976b37733208128098/w162040574.jpg>nearly as cute as seals but are constantly killed by gun blasts to the temple. For your delicious burger.

Leave the seal hunt alone until you fix your OWN animal treatment problems.
I agree, more or less. All that needs to be said really.

As a Canadian I can safely say "those seals had it coming!"

PETA just needs to crawl in a pit, everything they do just ends up making themselves look bad...

Alright the seal hunt is fine. There are way worse things these people could be worrying about

Why? There's nothing wrong with hunting seals. I kind of wish that they'd sell the seal meat. I'd like to try some.

OT: Too bad the game sucked. Now that the development of bad games has been added to PETA's list of activities, it now has no redeeming qualities (at least in my opinion).
Yeah but I like seals, all animals actually, especially the cute ones so it doesn't really sit right with me to hunt them. I know there's worse things to worry about but that doesn't mean I can't be pretty disappointed about this too.

Besides I guess I had Canada painted out as some paradise, which is pretty stupid actually, where nothing goes wrong ever, I guess it has its faults too.
I'm a "Newfie", and damn proud of it. PETA needs to get some sense. They're ruining thousands of lives because of they exaggerations and outright lies. I wish they'd realise that their tactics betray their 'cause far more then helping it.

The Seal Hunt is heavily, heavily, HEAVILY, monitored. The use guns now, and have for quite some time. Sealers do not kill white coats anymore. It's illegal, and no one would buy it anyway, 'cause if they're caught they're way up shit creek without a boat, let alone a paddle.

The Seal Hunt is important to our province. It' brings in money for families they don't live near the city who really need the income.

Not only that, since Newfoundland, Canada, and certain other countries have fished the Cod stocks to near oblivion, the Seal Hunt helps towards the conservation efforts to bring back the Cod stocks. Seal eat Cod. Lots of it. While we sell and eat practically every bit of the fish, the seal usually just eats the tender bits and leaves the rest to waste.

I will say, Flipper Pie is really damn delicious.
Well I can't really argue with it helping poor families and things like that but it still won't sit well with me, even if its now (after being enlightened) more like a cat sitting on me as opposed to a really fat woman, with spikes growing out of her body.

And I agree about PETA, they are going crazy and doing a lot more harm than good. At the minute they're ramaging along like self righteous bastards that think they can save the world by nagging at it. There fundamental belief of animal protection is solid but the way they're going about it is incredibly wrong, especially with all the scare tactics and lies they're telling to exaggerate problems and try and gain support. They need to calm down and actually do something productive instead of just spinning tales.

I want to play the game where you get to destroy little seals with blunt force, not whatever these guys are making.

Oh, I do love PETA for it's antics.

They're hilarious. The cooking Mama parody angered me, though, because I found that the turkey itself was made improperly, anyway.

*Sigh*
What do you expect, they are all veggieheads. You are lucky they even knew a turkey gets cooked in an oven.

Anyway I live in Canada and i'm still not quite sure what the seal hunt is. Seems like it either doesn't get a lot of publicity or we don't hear about it in the west unless someones complaining about it.

Sorry one more thing- MY GOD THAT CALF HAS HUGE EYES!!! ITS SO CUTE KINDA LIKE SOMETHING FROM ANIME I DUB THEE CALF ANIMECOW!

as long as the species isn't going to go extinct, then who cares? (Wiggles his toes in his comfy baby seal slippers and wrapes himself in a baby seal blanket) Hmmmm yes, I do believe thats nature's way.

No more defiantly needs to be said. Does Canada have burger trees they are not telling anyone about? When did Canada magically discover some means of not killing animals to get meat? Cause I got news for you guys, buy it or produce it you're at the same level of fault for the animals death. There is no way to get meat without killing animals, and it doesn't matter what twisted logic you throw at people it won't change the fact that animals eating animals is just a part of nature, I have no qualms about it - I also don't care if you do and only want to eat veggies.

As far as the slaughter house's in America being worse. There is no real comparison between killing an animal instantly with a spike to the head and bludgeoning one to death with a stick. You two should stop trying to shove your disguised biases on other people. The PETA videos they produce documenting the horrors of the industry are the exception to the rule. Most facilities are not like those at all. I have family that ranches, doing what PETA shows in their videos is more or less illegal in most cases.

Oh PETA, you used to be respectable, now you're a joke to most people instead of just to people that laugh at animal killing.
