I need to know if there is still hope in this world, if there are still people out there questioning truth, i want you to put up your favorite Philosophical idea, that you thought up yourself, here is mine to get started

"Love, or what we call Love, is not something that just one word can encompass, it is what we live, it is ourselves, our neighbors and the very air we breath, Love is more than just what we feel when we like a girl or a boy, it is everything." -Eric Lambert (2010)

"A witty saying is only witty in the fact that it confuses the credulous into thinking it subtly explains the inconceivably complex nature of the world."- Michael Price.

Imagine my disappointment coming into this thread thinking it was going to be about philosophy, when it's really about failed submissions to the Hallmark Card Corporation and witty credos. Questioning truth without establishing a set definition for knowledge is sorta silly. I haven't really come across any definition of knowledge that I don't find troubling in some way.

what really? one person has one? thats it, faith in humanity terminated
Ha ha. Give it some time. I'm sure most people on here haven't ever come up with a succinct, single line punch that explains a significant portion of what they believe. Oh and this is a gaming website, not exactly the home of deep thought. Others will come out of the woodworks, give it time.

Why would I question the Universe? I only have limited time and anything that we came up with would be more or less useless. But if there was anything that ever hit home with me on a philosophical level it would be Deathworld 2.

Thought it was a fairly well established conundrum that you dont know if the kittens actually dead tillyou open the box so the kitten could still be alive up until when you open it.
never heard it till repo men

Let me see if I've got this straight. We're quoting ourselves in this thread? Really?

That's not quite how Schrodinger's Cat works. The idea is that the cat exists as dead and alive simultaneously, until it is observed to be either one.

Back to the topic haha, not my quote but thought it was awesome!"Happiness is not the absence of problems, but the willingness to deal with them joyfully."-By Jonathan Lockwood Huie.

Philosophy is a very interesting thing, but extended periods of philosophical thinking has tired my brain and lead me towards cognitive psychology.

In any case one of my favorite quotes(yes, I realize you asked for something original) from someone I never knew the name of is "The truth, you'll find, is often relative to opinion.". It really makes you think about the nature of the concept of truth.

Perspective is very important.

if a kitten is mauled by a bear in the forest and nobody is around, does it make a sound?
