Time travel... the things we could do...
i'd only use it to collect samples, but i wouldn't stop any of the events that happened that would've interfered with my daily life.

the world would be too different if things didn't happen, say... if hitler were never born, sure, we could've never had a WWII or a Holocaust, but the world wouldn't know how absolutely terrifying one person can be when he broaches his fellow countrymen at a time of vulnerability.

these things happen so that we can stop them from happening again.

Maybe that's what happened to our timeline! Some timetravelers from a reality that has no wars or strife and needed some entertainment. So they came back, and started fucking with our timeline, rejecting Hitler's application to Vienna art school. Shooting Archduke Ferdinand. Then they just broadcast it in their own time as Reality television...

how does anybody know that people haven't travelled back in time ?? how does anyone know if Hitler wasn't assassinated ?? if people had gone back from the future then they would bounce about saying hey i just came back! it would be like those episodes of Star Trek when they want to observe a civilisation in its making! using futuristic technology's to hide themselves and their plans while watching and maybe intercepting in some major points in history!
i dont know the science of time travel at all! just arguing that 1 point made!

Actually, he's not ruled out time travel into the future, which is sort-of possible. The faster you're moving, the slower time goes for you. Here's an example

You have 2 (theoretically) identical clocks. One stays in the exact same spot in on the planet, moving at the speed of the earth's orbit, whilst one is sent round the earth at such a speed that it returns to to its starting position (next to the other clock) in exactly one hour. The clock that orbited the earth in an hour would be slightly behind the other one, as it travelled faster.

You can time travel into the future (Technically, everyone is doing it as we speak), but not into the past. Because the closer you get to the speed of light, the slower time goes for you.

For example; Alpha Centauri is 4 light years away. If you were to take a ship and travel there near the speed of light, it would take you 4 years to get there, but for everyone on the ship, it would only seem like a few hours. You essentially travel 4 years into the future.

Going into the past would require exceeding the local speed of light, which would require more than an infinite amount of energy to do. It would also destroy causality, which opens up a whole new can of worms, physics-wise.

Well, that's the theory, anyway.

If we can travel back in time in an alternative universe via travel from Uni A (ours) to Uni B then shouldn't it theoretically be possible the other way round? Travel from Uni A to a point in time in Uni B then travel back again to Uni A to a different time period. Problem solved, Time Travel is now possible in our Universe, that guy didn't think his theory all the way through.
