None of them look especially good, so I'll be going for one of the retail versions, probably Play.com, since it'll be at least a fiver less than on Steam.

What about those not in the USA? What do we get? I'm ordering mine from GAME, not flying over the sea.
Hopefully (like with Just Cause 2) you guys will get all the stuff instead of having to choose a retailer.

I never used to pre-order but this will probably be the second game I do that with this year. I'm glad they started offering these kinds of premiums. It sure beats the "give us a portion of the price months ahead of time... just for the hell of it." plan that had been going there for years.

I never go to (99% of) gamestops because most of them require you to pre-order a new game if you want it at launch.

Thankfully I'm diggin the Caravan & Merc packs. I'm sure my wife will help me decide which one. After all, it will probably be her birthday present.

Hmmm anything from the likes of play.com or UK retailers? I hope for something from GAME at least...
I hope for that too, since it's waaaay cheaper than ordering from the U.S.
Also, new games costs the equivalent of 120 dollars here in Norway, therefore I always order from Play.com :)

Pre-order bonus equipment is generally pretty crap so from a practical perspective, not much is lost. The bonus armor for Mass Effect 2, for instance, was nice, but once I tried it on and admired myself for a minute, I stuck it back in my closet and never looked at it again.

But then there's that completionist thing...

As for you Euros, it looks like Bethsoft will make an announcement about non-North American markets soon. Keep an eye on your local retailer to find out what's what.

In case anyone wants to see what the other packs look like. The Tribal one doesn't look all that impressive, but the caravan pack looks pretty bad ass.

Thanks muchly for posting about this! I had been wondering if any bonuses would be released for my most eagerly-anticipated video game release... Little did I know retailers were also eager to jump onboard the property and Bethesda decided more exclusivity contracts is better.

Can't we just get one standard edition instead of all this useless pre-order crap?
Or a special edition with all of the items.

I don't want to buy the game 4 times.
Or how about they just release games with all the content there for everyone anyway.

It really annoys me all this. It used to be you could just buy a game, and there was the content, and that was it.

This is just rediculous

Thank you very much for the- Wait... *twitches* Did you just refer to us as "Euros"?

On a more serious note, I am pleased to find out that they have not abandoned us, so thanks for mentioning this as otherwise I may have pre-ordered from somewhere before knowing about it.

With the PC version these might be modded in, BUT one also has to consider that they might take actions to prevent this (due to the retailers sponsoring it)
Most popular PC titles with in-game pre-order bonuses end up with a small crack or work around to include them. No different to making DLC cracks, really.

and that doesn't help the guys buying the game for their console...
Limitation of their chosen platform.

"I have an treasured collection of the stuff?"

Eh? Are the 't' and 'r' in treasured now silent, and no one told me? Because that's the only way using 'an' could make sense...

On topic: I'm still not sure whether Fallout would be my cup of tea. No preorder, for now...

Wait...are these real -wearable- armor costumes or in game armor? If the former I'd spring for the Vault 13 suit in a flash! Course, doubt that's the case xD
From Best Buy: The Mercenary Pack, with lightweight metal armor, a fast-loading mercenary grenade rifle, three "super stimpacks" and three doctors' bags.
Oh yeah, all of it is real, you buy the Mercenary pack and you get wearable metal armor, and a GRENADE LAUNCHER in real life!

Great value when you consider the fact that it's FREE to preorder games.
While preording is free it's not always the best financial decision. If you preoder from Best Buy, you have to buy it from them at full price. Now if Target offers a ten dollar gift card when you buy it, you have effectively lost ten dollars in exchange for the preorder pack. I know it's a gift card, but with it you can buy some batteries for your controllers, canned air to dust your keyboard, or just some deodorant for your smells.

And what about non-North American, non-European people?
SCREW YOU GUYS!

I mean, the actual wording is that the pre-order packs will be available through retailers "worldwide" soon. Sorry, didn't mean to make it sound so Eurocentric.

Hands up if you think that the Marketing department has managed to ring out 4 times as much money from the fanboys and obsessives.
