I'm betting any European publishers will be too lazy to sort out separate packs and either just release the vanilla version, or stick all the bonus material in the same pack. If any, I'd put money on the former.

Can't we just get one standard edition instead of all this useless pre-order crap?

I hate this pre-order sh*t...i was happy when it went on steam but of course with every good thing must come a bad thing.
I couldn't agree more; this pre-order crap is getting very, very annoying. What happened to being able to simply buy a normal game - you know... the one that's the same for everyone else?

Anyway, I'll get it either on Steam or at EBGames.

Woot! The one I'd want is Classic, and I was preordering through Gamestop anyway. WIN! Go V13 Canteen! Old school, baby! Now, if I can just find a water chip... any of you seen one around here?

It annoys me that this happens. We don't need different bonuses from each retailer. I'd like one pre-order bonus from all retailers, but it seems unfair that people such as "hyper anal completionists" can't get everything without pre-ordering many copies. I just pre-order from gamestop and get whatever they offer. If I get New Vegas it looks like my bonus will be stimpacks, a pistol, and a suit, all of which will run out/become useless very quickly in a Fallout game.

If this was real you'd obviously get the classic pack

"Oh my god, he's been shot! Is there a gamer in the house?"

"Step aside I'll handle this!"

Use stimpack, bullet hole immediately closes up and excess lead ejected.

"What a hero!"

4? really? You're making me choose?! That's just mean. Sad thing is some people will be buying all of them :p
But what about the other one that was announced? the one that came in a battered case with a book and other stuff?

I do dearly want that Caravan pack, but Walmart is not a fun place. Steam I would gladly pay for, but I need to scrounge more.

What about those not in the USA? What do we get? I'm ordering mine from GAME, not flying over the sea.
Agreed. What would people in the UK or France get?

to all those non USA types, I've just checked my UK version of Steam and it says you'll get the Caravan pack for preordering, so you're not getting screwed, hell no-one is.

Instead of coomplaining that you're not getting all 4 packs, or the one you wanted, remember it's just some bonus stuff, which you'd have liked if it had been that or nothing :D

So....trying to figure out what these packs actually ADD to the game... It seems like each offers a few slightly modified items that will be available anyhow. Only the classic offers anything that looks to be genuinely unique. These are personal ratings obviously.

CLASSIC
Perhaps the canteen's healing properties distinguish it from other canteens? If not, then it and the armor have solely nostalgic value. The pistol is a little more powerful than the standard.
Gameplay value: C+ (and that's IF the canteen's difference is more than cosmetic)
Rare Item value: A

TRIBAL
Armor with a reduced mobility penalty, a machete with extra limb damage and high fire rate.
Gameplay value: D (unless you focus on melee, which I don't)
Rare Item value: D

CARAVAN
Light-than-normal leather armor, a shotgun that needs less repair. I assume binoculars will be available elsewhere.
Gameplay value: B- (shotguns are practically disposable in F3)
Rare Item value: D

MERCENARY
Heavy armor made lighter than normal, a grenade rifle with improved reload speed.
Gameplay value: B (addresses the drawbacks of both heavy armor and grenade launchers)
Rare Item value: D

All things considered, it comes down to your style of play versus your retro urges. I'm leaning toward caravan, for the durable shotgun and the chance to have binoculars right away.
