Pirate Metal

Meh, I'm not really a fan of this kind of novelty music. If it wasn't for the Pirates v Ninjas meme I swear this band would never have seen the light of day.

I like it, though I like most metal. Try Running Wild if you are looking for piratey metal recomendations. The Ballad of William Kidd is a great song of theirs.


That song is on an awesome album all must listen and get it wherever possible. They are great in their own right and would be great still even if they didn't bother with a theme.

Also if people are talking about more themed stuff you could try Tyr. Viking Metal if it insists on having a genre.

Best band ever. I don't listen to a whole lot of music, but Running Wild is really good.

i'm not a huge fan of Pirate Metal, but i guarantee you this, if i make an exercise DVD, it will definitely have Pirate Metal as the Backing music. it's got a good beat for exercising to.

Well, there's a thing called Space Metal, which is somewhat of a fusion between space rock and stoner metal. Main proponent is a band called UFOmammut.

That was great. Pretty damn trippy.
I'll need to get more of this.

Ensiferum is awesome beyond recognition.

I enjoy Ninja Metal more, i.e. silent, mute - but deadly.

It plays in a subtle bass tone that makes virgin ears shit themselves.

OT: Korpiklanni(?) is by far the best in norse folk metal. any of their drinking songs are just awsomesauce, Vodka, Beer Beer, Lets Drink.
