I'll DL it when it's released on TV because it's more convenient for me that way rather then recording it from the TV (at best a week later, at worst a year or never). I do buy it on DVD or BR when its released on them however. So they are still getting their money in the end.

HBO and other providers need to get these shows through rating boards earlier, and have better options for viewing both online and on TV, globally. That and make DVD/BR options available a hell of a lot faster then a year later (should be a month or two imo).

side note: Ads on TV, I never actually sit through them. I usually either go to the toilet, or get something to eat, change the channel, or fast forward through them (if it's recorded). I've never actually purchased something because of an ad, so to me they are just a waste of time.

Nothing spectacular knowing that it is the most popular show on air and the 3rd most popular show ever made (first two being Planet Earth and The Wire, both of which are no longer running). Most popular = most popular everywhere, among tv watches, amonth dvd buyers and among pirates. this is nothing newsworthy at all.
as for the list: http://www.imdb.com/search/title?num_votes=5000,&sort=user_rating,desc&start=1&title_type=tv_series

Maybe they should consider a career change. Piracy just isn't profitable anymore, they could settle down on the mainland as mercenaries for the great houses.

I download all my Game of Thrones to stay up to date, and I buy them on blue-ray when they're released. I want to support the show because it is AMAZING (and box sets are just awesome), but pirating it is the only legitimate way for me to watch it on time in Sydney.
And thus introducing the interesting grey area that the "problem" of piracy faces.

I pirate because I'm poor. Simply put.
