There's a mod to get rid of the gates at the strip.
I'm on 360, and the gates aren't the problem, it's the lack of a fast-travel point inside the area.

Well, I started playing Amnesia, and I now hate going anywhere that's dark or underground. I cringe every time I see a staircase going down. It's the strangest game, I am loving it, but it makes me want to cry when I play it.

I found a place that to me makes the fade feel like Paradise.

That being the secret dungeon of Eternal Sonata. Everything looked the same and the place was just a huge never ending maze. It felt like it was tacked on at the last minute to inflate the game's play time. I was literally in there for nearly 10 hours.

Hoo boy, there's a lot to agree with here.
The dungeons and oblivion gates felt, for the most part, empty, dull and lifeless.
The Fade was a brave attempt at doing something cool, just too bad it was tedious. The Deep roads were also a chore to do too.
Sewer levels are enough to make me rage, as is watertemples and other bad levels with swimming.
After a while, the environments in DA2 were enough to make me cringe with just how boring, linear and samey they were.
Also, while it may be logical, a lot of the tunnels in metro2033 were really repetitive.
EDIT: Forgot to mention Taris and Irenicus' dungeon.

Darkwood in Fable 1, i just hate escort quests so and when your running through a werewolf infested place as a ranged character and have to kill a troll at the end it's a pain, especially so when you have 2 (or 3) stupid traders running alongside you.

The Spiderlair in Brutal Legend is quite frustrating as well as is any level with the Drowning Doom in it. The only way to win those is to Zurg rush i swear.

Finally the level Cortana in Halo 3. Everywhere looks the same and the bleedin' flood are EVERYWHERE i never want to fight those things again, thank god they wern't in reach. To make it worse i still need the Skull in there.

You don't have to go to these places twice but i love the games so much i kind of have to

In terms of places you must return to, i again look to Fable's Bargate Prison if only because of the Nypmhs and the Kraken on the second run through.

Dungeons in general, Oblivion especially due to how ridiculously dark they are.

Also the Fade from DA:O came close to ruining the game for me, partly due to a serious lack of plot or even context: a big thing makes you sleepy?!

That's literally the watered down reason as to why the Fade section took place.

Sewer levels in general.
The Fade in Dragon Age: Origins.
Water Temple in Zelda: Ocarina of Time (despite ho much I love the atmosphere of the place).
Roaming around 500 planets in the Mako in Mass Effect.
Even though it's not a place but planet scanning in Mass Effect 2. This and the Mako fucking KILLED any notions of replayability for me with Mass Effect games.
Any "treasure hunting" levels in Sonic Adventure games, with Knuckles and Rouge.
Nunvice "the only low level, buggy, disconnect every 5 seconds and kicks you out" instance dungeon in Dekaron.
Could probably think of more but I'm tired.

I truly cannot stand the fade in either dragon age game. It was better in the second because they didn't make you fight completely on your own, but forcing you to take on enemies without a complete party is annoying in a group based combat game. Not to mention that it looks fucking ugly. Dreams do not always have a washed out look with the exact same color palette.

World 3 and 5 in Demon's Souls.
The industrial area in inFamous 2.
I'm inclined to agree with both of these. World 3 in demon's souls was tense at first, and then just an exercise in tediousness. World 5 I have been able to mostly get past with ease by just equipping the regenerator's ring and adjudicator's shield (and a blessed weapon if I'm playing a faith build), but the leechmonger, giant depraved ones, and the fact that the swamp only inhibits your movement turn me off of the level completely. Not to mention that world 3 and 5 are absolutely boring to look at.

The industrial area of inFamous 2 earned my hatred because it looks boring. Other than that, I thought it was fine, and the giant vertical launchers were a nice touch.

I feel a bit bad for the people saying The Fade in DA:O as they obviously didn't realise that you were supposed to use the different completely overpowered forms to beat it. :|

I agree with Oblivion I hated those freaking portals they completely put me off playing the game. The world is just so cliche and fugly. I hate it.

I really REALLY hate Ravenholm. Headcrabs scare me and I'm reluctant to ask for someone to sit with me as my incredibly bratty and annoying sister always asks me for help and I want to set an example. I played through half of Ravenholm by having the game in Windowed Mode with Guile's Theme playing in the background, but when I caught my first glimpse of a Poison Zombie, I was 'screw that' and I turned off the game.
HURR HURR.

I know ignorant post is ignorant, but what Ravenholm really that scary?

Once you found the sawblades or got the shotgun, the whole thing was trivial.....
It was the atmosphere, considering it wasn't trying to be a horror FPS, but ended up feeling like the Silent Zombie Apocalypse Hill, it did fucking well.
