My heart keeps telling me that one day, There will be a final Pokemon game with every single Pokemon within it and the franchise will end. But my head knows that Gamefreak still have a lot of teats left on this cashcow.

Vanillite is one of my favourite Pokémon designs of all time, No idea why it's copping the hate for 'terrible character design'.

I have no idea either. An ice cream cone is no worse than, say, a bunch of eggs with faces, or a blob of slime with eyes. The Vanillite family is actually pretty adorable, in my opinion.

I never understood all the rage about generation V. Every generation has had some really stupid looking ones. Really just comes off as a "Well back in my day! *cane waggle*" thing.

I'm sorry, but did Nintendo just decide not to bother completely reinventing their francise every time, and now they just want to put out a sequel to the latest in their francise. Great.

Yes cause the previous pokemon games have been such unique and varied experience. Honestly I couldn't even tell they were pokemon games will all the shooting and action/platform sections. Mix that in with the high-speed mech fights we had in that one generation and the ultra-detail sim sections we had in the one after that it becomes almost impossible to tell that the pokemon games are still pokemon games.

Yeah... they just poured some glue on Reshiram and Zekrom and called it a day i guess. Talk about lazy. Maybe this one will have proper level and move scaling, as opposed to B&W where you could kill everything in one hit all the way up to the elite four, then you had no chance without grinding like crazy. Or maybe that's just because I chose Tepig.

Yea, the canes are waggling hard in many of those debates. I loved a lot of the designs from Gen V- Cofagrigus, Haxorus, and Garvantula, among others, remain some of my favorite Pokemon of all time. And, as previously stated, I have played every generation of Pokemon, and Pokemon Blue even happened to be my very first video game.

It's a direct sequel and no fusion of the first two games, it's for the DS instead of the NDS and the american version will be released relatively shortly after the japanese version. Seems like they really want to break the pattern with this one. Maybe they chose Black and White for that because they had the most interesting story out of all the pokemon games.
I'd really like to know, what they exactly mean with a direct sequel in a pokemon game. Will it be a completely new story? Will Ghetsis and/or N appear again? Will we play as the same trainers again? Will we again only meet the pokemon from Unova at first? I can't wait until they'll reveal more about the game.
On a side note, I'm quite pleased and a bit surprised that they'll release it on the DS. Pokemon was the main reason why I bought it.

Pokemon has never done direct sequels like this before. I haven't played a Pokemon game since the original blue (which I got stuck by some fat guy stand by a fence I never figured out how to get passed him and lost the game long ago) but I know that the game barely changes from one game to the next besides adding another 100 or so of Pokemon. Considering how little innovation is present in the game ALREADY, what are you really expecting from a sequel two years in a series that takes about four between releases? Nintendo I think is desperate to get ANYTHING they can onto the 3DS.

They haven't designed a good looking Pokemon since Silver/Gold/Crystal (maybe Sapphire/Ruby/Emerald), and nothing about the stories since that same series has done naything of interest to me, so I couldn't care less.

Though i'm not a big fan of the new kyurem forms set to be in the new two games I am looking forward to these games eagerly. I have played and replayed black and white over and over since last years release.
I know they'll add some great new features, or even re use some old, tried and tested to work features that we love. Good old nintendo, even if its a bit repetitive and not the 'Pokemon grey' we were hoping (or not in some peoples cases) theyll be great games.

Only thing i dont look forward to is the day all new releases are 3DS only, i dont want to buy a headache enducer and tonnes of asprin.

This is... surprising. I would of thought that they would have released it on 3ds to boost sales. Oh well, maybe there will be an option to allow the 3ds to scale it up without draining color or making it blurry.

Jokes aside, Fire and ice type? kinda brakes the mold, maybe both ice dragon, but one can learn a few electric moves and the other a few fire? might work.

OT: Am I the only fan of the series that didn't care for GenV and looks at this direct sequeling as a lack of good ideas on Nintendo's part? The 2 implies that this will likely be the continuation of the story from the previous game, which I felt the game relied too much on. I'm not against the story, but it was the driving force of the GenV games when what made the earlier ones so special was just the open-world exploring and making the story yourself. It was simpler, didn't bog you down with loads of pointless dialogue, and just got you to the gameplay.

I probably won't buy these games unless they announce something revolutionary, but even then these are still GenV games and I am still under the impression not enough changed from GenIV to justify making a whole new set of games for them, especially when I still hold GenIV up as the best one yet in terms of game mechanics.

No, I generally didn't care for Gen V either, I bought the games, I completed it's story and I transferred my Pokémon over from my previous title (which for me was Soul Silver).
But beyond that there was nothing there to really grab me and keep me playing.

Something that Soul Silver managed to do, sure it was a re-tread of a previous (and vastly superior) generation, but for me Soul Silver was the closest they've come to a flawless execution for Pokémon title.

I don't think I'm the only one who thinks this direct sequel stuff is just plain nonsense...

I mean black Kyurem and white Kyurem? Really? We're genuinely defining them as separate species because they're different colour?

Guess they should start making more space in the pokédex now, since all the Shinies are going to be their own pokémon now...

Beyond that though, the way they've released their games previously has been nothing short of consistent winning... Why change it now and risk making your demographic realise you really have run out of ideas?

They are different forms of Kyurem, not a different species, kinda like Shaymin and it's Skyform, however for Kyrum it's justt he colour that's different.
