As for the guy who stole the consoles in the first place? I hope they throw the book at him. And by book, I mean the Law Book of Ankh-Morpork. And that the guy throwing it is big and strong...
Vimes would sort him out. Sometimes, just sometimes, police brutality is a good thing.

this brings back memories of a friend who recently passed from Leukemia (or however you spell that)

for those who dont know, Leukemia causes people to lower their deffenses, to the point that what kills them is more often than not a flu, than the Leukemia itself

like a month before she was diagnosed, i showed her Little Big Planet, and she enjoyed it, she had never played a single game before, that was the first game she ever touched, and she loved it to bits

she was diagnosed, and we all were bummed, when she stopped to go out because of the dangers of infection, i went to her house, installed a Plasma tv (mind you, they didnt had that much money, so they just had old TV´s) and placed the PS3 right in her room

we played for a little while and i left, of course i left the PS3 in her room with the TV

i still remember the day she passed after a year of struggle with the desease, i went to her house to pick up my stuff, the most sad immage i could see, a puff chair with her slim shape still imprinted in it and the controller left lying next to it, the disc still inside the PS3, i started crying, how many days she spent sitting there playing to pass the time??, to forget she was sick?, to find some joy in the prision that had become her home??

anywhay, i picked up my stuff and left, i didnt dared to touch the PS3 for halve a year, (this happened 2 years ago), when i did, i decided to finish her Little Big Planet game, to get all the stuff she missed, i didnt knew why, i just wanted to.

i finished the game, and immediatelly i felt better... how weird, when i played i felt as if she was right next to me telling me "JUMP OVER THAT!!!, WHAT IS THAT??" so on so forth, i never changed the sack boy appearance (tutu with a tv on its head and stuff like that, she found it funny and cute), I will never delete her save files...

damn...

really out of topic aint it?? well, i just remembered and wanted to share.

also, harsh punishments and over the top torture practices for that man are to be put, just to stay on topic.

I hope they shot him in the face with an exploding bullet but so he wouldn't die but he would be unconscious for a week or so, when he wakes up the should remove his testicles with a monkey wrench that spins around at over 100 kilometers a second... then they should hang him, give him the electric chair and give him the lethal injection all at the same time... this asshole is going to die 3 times.

Seriously though, it is just sad that someone would even consider stealing from sick kids, it would be understandable stealing from some rich snobby family that could easily afford a new one...but sick kids? really?

Wow, inspirational...I hope the thief gets hit by a sock with half a cinder block inside of it...but the charity of those two people is certainly refreshing and lovely.

It's a sad loss, but a suitable story worth telling, and an experience that should be remembered

Huzzah! Justice!

I still think Santa, Jesus and the Grinch should have whooped the guy's ass, though.

They hyperbole here is kind of stunning, but it's good they caught the guy. Given his record, though, it doesn't look like he's going to change anytime soon unless the court system tries something different.

And for those cracking wise about "OMG those guyz gave 'em Xboxes that system sux lol," it's thankfully a hospital wing for sick kids and not sick game critics. I'd rather see old systems in limbo go to people who can enjoy them than just sit on some shelf collecting dust or taking up space in a landfill.

thieves of all sorts make me sick. people work hard to buy the things they want, and then someone just comes into your house, takes it and leaves?

ive had plenty of things stolen from me, and here's what i wish would happen:
i want them to have their hands cut off at vital arteries and then *****-slapped with their own hands until they die.

there. that makes me feel better

I whole heartedly agree. I hope that the person throwing it is a Dwarf by adoption and has very big arms.

I also hope this jerkwad gets a suitable tongue lashing from whatever Vimes like policemen they can find.

Justice is served and the jerk off is caught.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

If this guy is smart he will stay inside and not get bailed out until after the holidays. If he is as hard on his luck as his act hopefully states, then being in a nice warm cell will be a benefit. There be a lot of people out there who aren't feeling very forgiving, and though I wish they were otherwise, I don't blame them.

And God Bless Anthony Calandra and Matt Shor. And I have a feeling it doesn't even stop with their acts.

First, it's good to see a fellow Pratchett fan.

Second, I agree that this man should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Stealing from termally ill kids is probably one of the lowest things I can think of.
I agree, on both counts. Well, there could be lower things, but that is pretty fucking low. Particularly him doing this during the holiday season.

Seriously, I wouldn't have minded if he just stole the consoles, but consoles for kids who have freaking cancer is really damn low. That's like if Shaquille O'Neal challenged Tattoo the midget to a jumping contest. There is no good possible reason for it, and it just makes you look stupid.

No matter what, if it's against children in any way, prisoners will be pissed. This dude's gonna have a tough stretch.

I just finished reading that book a couple days ago... ("Guards! Guards!", not the Law Book...)

The question is, will he be standing on a very high ledge at the time?

If someone's going to post "We don't know the full story..." comment, I swear to God.....

Lets all hope he drops the soap......
If they do, I give you permission to flame the crap out of them. There is NO "full story" that could justify this.

This reminds me of a movie I saw a few years ago, but I can't remember the title... hmmmm...

OT: Sheesh. How low can you sink? Good thing they caught him, maybe his sentence will be just long enough for him to read up on the definition of 'heartless scum' in the prison library.

THANK YOU! This certainly helps restore my faith in humanity a bit, especially the guys who donated XBoxes for the kids.

Especially at this time of the year...makes ya feel all warm inside, don't it?
