i preferred 28 weeks. though Days was good, it watched it again recently and it was really slow and i got a bit bored. saw Weeks in the cinema, haven't seen it since but it was better.

Weird, i was just listening to the sound track from Weeks. I have only seen Weeks so i will have to go with that one, and it was pretty good. Though I hated the "She can cure Rage virus!" part. Shes the last person on earth with rage, kill her and theres no need for the cure.

28 months later.

wait what? XD they havent made that one yet?

okok, 28 Days later, mainly because when i was watching 28 weeks later i kept yelling FULL MONTY! whenever he appeared, so it ruined the horror....

my bad?

For all my slagging on it, there's one thing that weeks did wonderfully.

The guy with Serena in Days just recounted the carnage and hysteria that went on. And it was hard to wrap my head around. I thought it was good that they just left it to our imaginations because they just couldn't film a scene like that and do it justice.

Then one turned into most of the entire population in a matter of minutes. It was frightening and humbling to behold

I agree with the majority - 28 Days is much better. The parts with Christopher Eccleston are well harsh.

Well, what's the difference? Don't they both start and end the same way? One person becomes infected and bites people left and right and then the army purges the city with napalm or whatever. What are the plot differences between the two?

Related note: Ya know, the next one will be called 28 months later...mark my words.

You can't really compare the two. Despite being from the same series, they are drastically different films. 28 Days Later is a tale of survival in a world where morality is dead and is a profound social commentary. 28 Weeks Later is also a resounding social commentary, but the focus doesn't fall so much upon survival as desperate times leading to desperate measures, and while I hate to beat a dead horse, it is the same sort of issue that Ozymandias in Watchmen speaks of, being the death of few to save many.

The rage virus zombies in the films serve mainly to set the scene for such a situation.

I desperately want to know how long they'll continue this series. 28 Months Later, 28 Years, 28 Decades, 28 Centuries, 28 Millennia?
It would be pretty cool to chart a zompocalypse down through history, watching it shape the world though generations.

28 days later isn't a horror film. psychological thriller with some horror elements, is more apt. its a brilliant film with a great plot and characters.

They're both awesome, but for different reasons. Days gives you a more emotional connection to the characters, and feels more personal. Weeks shows you how the virus got so bad in the first place, and has loads of action.

28 Months has supposedly been confirmed, but the only viable extension from that would have to be 28 Seasons later. Probably with all that time, the virus mutating and we'll get some Resident Evil chicanery going.

hopefully, Months will be the last outing. Love Zombie/Infected Death, hate beating a dead horse.

... Unless it's a Zombie Horse.

Days had a much better atmosphere. Weeks seemed a little too Americanised to work as a horror film.

Weeks was however the film that convinced one of my friends that while the rest of his crew had "zombie plans", he'd need to work on an "American-led taskforce plan".
I completely agree; Days was low budget. Atmospheric, placing emphasis on the eeriness of waking from a coma to a deserted (?) city that once bustled with life.

Weeks was the usual generic testosteronic American macho bullshit. Thank God they never got their hands on Dog Soldiers.
Amen to that!
The humor and atmosphere of DogSoldiers just wouldn't have worked if it got Americanised.

Its really a question of:

Physcological drama

Or

Zombie film with explosions and shit.

Drama hands down

The best thing about Days is from the mansion forward!
Screw that, I think the opening is creepy as hell and the bit with the wheel change(afraid I dont know how to use spoiler tags) had me wanting to shake my TV with tension...

I honestly liked 28 Weeks later. It was more interesting for me to see how the rest of the world would have handled something like that. And being an American I assumed the first thing we would do is try and help

While watching 28 Weeks Later, I spent too much time wishing that a zombie would come and bite into the brother and sister and end the movie, so I only kept watching the movie hoping the movie would end. I have never hated main characters more.

28 Days Later however, was awesome from beginning to end.

They were both fucking epic, but in entirely different ways.

Days had the whole, low budget feel, but still managed to be really dramatic and scary and all that good shit. Plus the mansion part at the ending was one of the most harrowing things Ive seen, with the Army wanting to do their bit for "re-population"

Then Weeks went all Hollywood on us, but it still kept the British feel, and Hollywood actually managed to be a positive force for once, as I felt the 2nd film dealt with the subject in a very believable way, and benefited from some of the things a big budget brings.

Like that firebombing scene. That was pure awesome, right there.
