I still like Cartoon Network no matter what everyone else says. Flapjack, Chowder, Regular Show, Batman, 16, and ESPECIALLY Adventure Time are all fantastic shows.

Yes, Invader Zim, Gargoyles, Avatar: the Last Airbender, all great stuff. Of course there's also the meriad of Japanese cartoons I watch, but I'm not sure if you count those.

Maybe this is just me being logical and crap but it takes adults to make cartoons. Now doesn't that mean that they'd sign up for the job if they ...you know LIKED cartoons?

Me being an artist and a cartoonist I say yes there's a variety of cartoons to be watched, some of them having subtle adult humor.

Cartoons (either western or not) have the ability to create much more original settings than regular TV. For that reason, I tend to find them more interesting. Not always better mind you, but interesting. I mean, while underwater isn't the most unique location, you won't see a sitcom down there due to budget. Meanwhile, Spongebob's been chillin' down there for years. CG helps, but animation can simply "do" more. At least while remaining cost effective.

Still, I dislike the abundant use of flash in cartoons these days. At least those that are really obviously flash.

Does Family Guy count?

I don't really watch cartoons aimed at kids. The obvious exceptions are things like Looney Toons and Tom & Jerry. I could probably be amused by cartoons I watched as a kid, but only for the nostalgia.

Well, I'm a big fan of surrealism. Surrealism--that is, being surreal-- is just something that can't often be done by live action TV. However, a box full of pencils and a jug of liquidized LSD can do that easily; cases in point being Chowder, regular Show, and Adventure Time.

So yes, I do.

Sure. King of the Hill has a special place in my heart because I know people like Hank and Dale. The Simpsons was a favorite since I was little. Futurama is... well, Futurama. Then there's Family Guy.

Edit: This is assuming that we're not including anime and anime-esk shows like Avatar.

I like watching cartoons from the 90's, because they often have jokes that can be understood when you become older.

Cartoons are not a children's medium. It's as simple as that. I enjoy my occasional cartoon from when I was younger, but I mainly love the more mature animated shows and films, like a lot of anime and the very, very rare work of western animation that actually takes the medium seriously (in other words, Pixar and Avatar: The Last Airbender).

Animation is perfectly capable of telling good and dramatic stories. I can't stand it when people don't understand that ("Wait, Up is really emotional? But isn't it a cartoon?"). It's such a closed-minded and artistically ignorant way of looking at film in general to think that animation is somehow inherently incapable of serious and good storytelling.

As for favorites, Avatar: The Last Airbender is not only my favorite cartoon, it's my favorite show ever. Impressive considering it's technically a kids show and I'm 21, but then most of that show's fanbase is high school and college age...
