AK47 I heard a kid can maintain it with just a shoe string
I read in the zombie survival guide the M16 is a terrible weapon, cant be used as a emergency club (the stock will shatter), hard to maintain and has a tendency to jam
but if its a shooter not a RP
I would still go for the AK47 it looks cool
the original m16 was like that but the updated version is much more useful/reliable and has a much longer affective range than the AK47 as well as accuracy

really it depends
close range/new gun user - AK47
long range/trained - M16

Neither, get me a Galil!
Also I'm not sure but is their anyone who might know because an Irish army soldier told me that the steer Aug was designed to be non/less lethal.
Anyone know?
...only as much as any 5.56NATO rifle is designed as a wounding, rather than killing, weapon. The AUG is pretty much the same thing as any other 5.56 battle rifle, just in a bullpup configuration.

AK-47. Beacuse it is a classic, uses more powerful rounds and is less prone to jamming.

Of course, a game environment tends to eliminate most of the fundamental differences between the rifles, so it mostly comes down to personal preference.

I'm sorry, I can't here you over how much better than reality this is.
*Laughs at t.....ninja* "What are you laughing at?"
"Just that on my gun, it says Desert Eagle .50 calibur. And on your gun, it says REPLICA."

Funny. The Desert Eagle isn't a particularly good gun.

That was more about the Snatch reference really. But I have always found the Desert eagle to be reliable, accurate and Exceedingly deadly. At least in every game I have ever played. And I got to shoot a real one at a range, no problems hitting targets at 50 ft. I do concede that it is not a good multi-round weapon due to recoil.
However the solution is calm, precise aiming.
One shot in the head or chest is worth 5 in the wall.

i want to point out a few things about these guns in real life situations.

The Ak-47- not a bad gun at all, but in all honesty, i has MAJOR flaws,(i also want to note that ACTUAL ak-47s are rare and most are actually another version, you can tell by some sort of symbol on the weapon somewhere) besides accuracy, which can be a big thing in ammo conservation, the ak has a distinct sound and opens the user to possible friendly fire, ask any military man and they'll tell you that useing a gun that sounds exactly like what the enemy uses is a bad idea.

the m16 (and other ar-15 variants)- when they started out they were incredibly bad, this was because politics put it into action before it was truly ready. Now most if not nearly all ar-15s have solved this problem and they are very reliable weapons for the most part, the best part about ar-15s is that they don't have to use 5.56 mm ammo, thats the most common. If you ever take a trip in a gun store, you can find similar weapons in many different calibers and sizes.

So even though an ar-15 may still be fairly high maintenance, the accuracy and variety it produces makes it probably the superior weapon. (this does of course depend on how you use it.)

The question was IN A VIDEO GAME

ak positives=stopping power, big ass bullets, reliability, negatives=shit accuracy, bad iron sights, awful recoil. m16 positives=low recoil, hydrostatic shock, fast round, long range, great sights, negatives= breaks down and jams often, flimsy polymer construction, and if you are referring to the m16a4, no full auto function. id still go for m16

everything from the bullets to the butt-stock are heavy, and will cause loads of damage

Well, the AK-47 has been known to be a much more reliable gun than the M16. It is much easier to use, and a hell of a lot more durable. It can be shot in virtually any condition, as opposed to having to clean your M16 ever two firefights, and it is much simpler to use and disassemble than the M16. Why do you think you always see kids in the Middle East carrying AK's? Oh, and that wasn't a racist joke, I'm being serious, this gun is so easy it is idiot proof/kid proof. Finally point, wood hand holder so you don't burn yourself while firing it.

Good luck ever finding a working one that hasn't been updated to an A2 or A4 due to parts failure... There might be one in an Air Force museum somewhere...
