I don't RP at all unless its just a pathetic attempt to ruin the "immersion" of the RPers (primarily since their RPing is hilariously bad). My take on the whole "RPers in WoW" is that Blizzard has already set up a world, plot, and gameplay mechanic that really doesn't allow for people to RP any further than that. The point of my "RP as a Thrall Loyalist" comment was a lame attempt at a joke.
Both thank you very much. However, even though I played Alliance (stopped playing WoW half a year ago) I hated their Battleground mentality.
My BG group is horrible for that, especially with the new Isle of Conquest. Its like "Hey everyone, lets not adjust to new tactics by taking the Airfield! Instead, lets focus on the workshop like we have for every PvP battleground since siege weapons were introduced!"
Anyone who played wow since the original will like horde more.
Back then, horde was mostly chosen by players who know the lore, and not by "zombiez R bad, ima be paladin" kind of players. Horde used to win all the battlegrounds simply because most of the players were much more mature and allways fighted in teams. I remember taking all of the flags in warsong guilch without any deaths simply because we allways worked as a team.
Most of the newbies have spoted that the horde is much more powerful, and switched. Or maybe it was the introduction of blood elves? i dont know.
But shortlly affter the release of TBC horde lost its charm. instead of getting free buffs or water from priests and mages, you are more likelly to be ninja'd in an instance. Instead of working as a team in battlegrounds, everyone just goes around killing random players for honor points.
I dont know, maybe some veteran alliance players will dissagree, but thats what I remember.

I'm normally Alliance, simply because their areas are easier to traverse, but I've recently become fond of the Tauren, and I've always loved the Trolls.

I don't play WoW that much and I only really have one character I play with. So I'll have to say Horde considering she's a Blood Elf. Though I am going to give the Worgen's a try when the new expansion comes out.
I say Horde, even though I play as the Alliance, most Ally players I come across act very childish, but if I see a passing Horde they will often wave at me, so I wave back hehehe

For me the thought was always there, but the overall culminating moment was a quest chain that ends in Dragonblight and has to do with the Taunka's inclusion into the Horde. It just kind of summed up everything I think is superior about the Horde, given the circumstances of the Taunka's inclusion. From a lore standpoint, the Alliance (with the exception of the dwarves) just seems to me to have the mindset of "We're only going to be friends for now because you have something we need. Once that goal is accomplished, you're out the damn door." Whereas the Horde mentality (again, strictly lore-wise) is more along the lines of "So your society and people were nearly wiped out, right? Join us and we'll help you rebuild to your former glory. And even after the goals are accomplished we can still hang out and go fishing or something."
Horde's battlecry: "For the Horde!"
Alliance's quasi-battlecry: "Grab your sword and fight the Horde!"
The latter only has the former on the mind, and the former has the whole world on the "to do" list. Ergo, Horde wins.
And yes I know I used a joke line from Warcraft III, it's the closest thing I could find to a battlecry. And it works.
