Back when I played (I quit over 2 years ago), Allys outnumbered Horde 3 to 1 on the Suramar server. I played Horde initially, because my buddy played Horde. I tried playing Ally, but couldn't get past level 10 on any character. The reason: player quality. The Horde side had nicer people who were always willing to help. Ask where something is in general chat and you'd get directions, coords, and sometimes if someone wasn't busy they'd party up with you and show you exactly where to go. But while playing Ally....nothing. I also found out that the stereotype of Allys being nothing but immature 12 years olds to be true on Suramar. I'm not sure if its changed there, but that was my experience.
