People are a bunch of pissy assholes when it comes to games. Movies, books, music, who gives a fuck? Movies that have hours of hours of brutal torture, books that are about how the author is going to kill everyone, music about how a guy is going to beat/rape/torture/etc. to death some lady, it's nothing compared to one second of half a bare ass cheek! Dear god, that's interactive sin on my tv screen!

In light of the whole thing:

Lots of people are stupid. I can see (kind of) how people can get offended by these things...but if it's in quite a few games. Those people should just buy games that are rated E and play it safe rather than attempt to be mature and fail.

people are overly sensitive because human nature decrees that people think there is always something wrong with the world even if there isn't. Actual racist, sexist etc discrimination is wrong i agree but people get far too offended if you even brush the issue with a 10 ft bargepole. saying someone is black is not racist. saying that they are shit as a result of being black is racist. learn the difference people. As to oversensitivity about games i am 15 and have played through Bioshock, GTA 4 and several other 18 games but i'm not a violent mass murderer or a racist/sexist crazy.

They're not over-sensitive, they're just trying to gain attention by acting like it. 'Cause face it, we all get to hear about yet another guy who speaks badly about games, religion, racism or stuff like that. It's just attention they're after. That or money. They go hand in hand most of times.

Everyone should watch that.
Should watch 'em while you can. Last time I found all 3 parts, they got deleted a few days after I found them.

I don't have any problem with everyone chirping about violence in video games leading to teenagers slaughtering their high schools. At least there's basis for such arguments. It's completely ridiculous, but I can accept the argument as somewhat valid. When idiots start whining about racism, however, it's almost always unfounded and moronic. The L4D2 racism claims are moronic. RE5 claims were moronic (less so, once the game came out, with the tribals and what-not... but the claims started at the very first trailer, where you saw like one black zombie). And it's always white people doing the whining, which pisses me off even more.

In order for racism to occur, there has to be some underlying cause of hatred and some party to be offended. If you aren't the race presumably being hated, you have no right to call out racism. It's like when men tell women they have no right to have an abortion. Shut the hell up. It isn't your place to discuss it.

Dude, that ending hit me pretty hard, I really felt for the little guy.

That was weird, thing had me smiling the whole time then bam. Hits you.
I know, it was pretty hard to watch. I guess it kinda proves that something in fantasy that is fun can still be fundamentally disturbing in its real life form.

I fired a rifle at a tin can once... I didn't cry but it didn't really appeal to me either. I prefer to kill little computer men :)

I'm just going to throw in my two cents here. I DON'T think people are oversensitive, and I'll tell you why. When you were growing up and the mean kid in school called you a dork, you went home and cried to mom and she told you to ignore it. Sticks and stones. The same things apply today as did then. HOWEVER, in the Politicly Correct(PC) world we live in, now all those people that cried home to mommy have a laywer they can cry to. They have emotional distress and discrimination legislation that they can turn on people. So rather than exercising self control, restraint, and God forbit common sense and reasoning, they can use the legal system to hit all those people back where it hurts and usually without repurcusions(sp?). It's not over-sensitivity so much as a free shot back at those they feel picked on them.

NOW, to expand. I see a lot of people talking about the parents and poltical figures that are getting angry over games like Resident Evil...5? The one with the black people throwing spears. Spear Chucker was and is a derogatory term for a long time, but they've taken it out of context BECAUSE THEY CAN. It's their way at getting back at every purrson they feel insulted them in their lives. They can use legislation that was enacted to preside over a very small number of cases and bend the meaning to throw a cheap shot at someone like they feel was done to them. And they do it because they can without worry, because in todays PC world, no one would dare act against them out of fear of being the next target.

(side note: This is like the third post like this I've written tonight. I'm on a ROLL!)

Well, you have to think, the content of said games may go against ones religion or beliefs or such. Personally, I don't care but many people just take things to far.

People are not so much over-sensitive as distracted by the shiny. They tend to get fixated on the latest outrage while major country-wide problems are manifesting. There's a reason I hate "human interest" stories. I'd read a newspaper that kept track of the number of major crimes committed, the level of government debt, the number of people in poverty, and that kind of thing, along with large, significant events. That tells me something about the state of the country or my area. I don't want to see the news cluttered up with events which may have sentimental value but ultimately don't leave anyone the wiser as to what is actually going on.
