I used to be a geek but now I'm just normal. I still get along with geeks though. So I guess I'm still a geek at heart

I'm not a nerd cause I'm not smart like Bill Gates or Albert Einstein, and I'm not a geek cause I don't wear pointy ears to sci-fi conventions (never been to one).

I guess I'm, uhm, a gamer? No idea, never tried to "class" myself before.
Do you play video games more than casually?
Can you tell the difference between a CPU and a GPU?
Do you read/watch anime/manga?
Do you have extensive knowledge of anything technical?

If the answer is yes to any of those then you're probably a geek.

I think that geeks are the 'cool nerds' while nerds are dorky pimpled boys with no social skills.

I'd like to think I'm in the former, obviously.
While geeks are considered to be the "cool nerds" they are also the dumb nerds.

I'd say I'm about 70% geek 30% nerd. I don't like conforming to society and I do strive to get skills. I also have an above-average IQ (compared to other people my age anyway), and somewhat of a lack of social skills. It's not so bad that I can't start a conversation, but it's a challenge to do so.

More of a gamer who has plenty of "options" with the opposite sex but finds them ridiculously stupid.

I'm not fully sure what i am, given that everyone has their own idea of what constitutes people as a nerd or geek. so instead of naming myself, i will give a brief idea of what i like that tends to follow those titles. and you guys can be the judge.

i love fantasy,sci-fi movies and games...but not enough to be a know-it-all or be obsessive over them. I consider myself moderately tech savvy with computer hardware, but I don't have the skills or know-how to build a pc nor do i/would i constantly talk about computer stuff or the fantasy stuff either to anyone to the point of bleeding ears. i have never been to a convention, however i have always wanted to go to Blizzcon.

I am philosophically and culturally intelligent, I am also an artist and a raver. but at the heart of it all, im a passionate gamer. so...verdict?

While I certainly geek out over things I'm interested in, that's only when nobody's looking.

When I interact with the world, I'm a jock and a raconteur, but NEVER a geek or nerd.

Ok, I'm a geek then^^. Oh well, I hear people think geeky girls are hot anyway, so I'm good with it.

Not sure what I'd call myself.

If you checked the contents of my room you'd call me a nerd, but if you listened to me speak you'd call me either (seriously, every third thing that comes out of my mouth is usually some sort of obscure trivia, sheer pedantry, an internet meme or an argument over why the original Pokemon shall always prevail over all the others or somesuch rot - but they always will by the way).

Wow, I'd love that present.

I don't consider myself to be a geek or a nerd. I go to parties, do some sports. I just think of it as a gamer who really enjoys it.

To me, a nerd implies obsessiveness, and a geek implies intelligence and social ignorance. Geek is more negative imo. I don't fit into any category really, it's kind of sad to be floating aimlessly around
You consider obsessiveness as positive, but not intelligence?
