I have glasses for driving, films and watching TV - but I choose to live with slightly out of focus vision for the most part. I've needed specs for 23 years.

I think this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBQ68Sz0TuU] song by Rupert Holmes may be appropriate.

Wow, really? 22 to 14 against? (at time of posting). Well, I guess stereotypes exist for a reason eh? =P .I'll just take my perfect eyes and be on my way, to somewhere where I'm not so...I dunno...outnumbered.

Glasses CAN be very..."secksi". They can also not though.
IMO
I don't know these girls either, don't ask, just google searched for glasses.

Contacts, have only recently uses glasses a bit at home. Had them since I was 15, so for about 8 years. Both my parents and my brother use glasses, my lucky sister doesn't need them. :p
My girlfriend also has contacts and spare glasses, it's quite surprising how many of us would be screwed without the technology.

I need my glasses for everything BUT reading. How's that for eyesight? lol
It's called being near-sighted? :) If my eyes were a bit better I wouldn't need glasses for reading, but I'd still be unable to see details over distance.

I've been bespectacled since year 3, which would make it about 13 years since it happened. As much as it makes me look awesome smart, I would like to get laser when I can afford it.

No, thankuflly. It's surprising my sight is still as good as it ever was, as my eyes are very sensitive to light and I stare at a computer screen 24/7. I think glasses look stupid (only on me and on women, though). A woman with glasses is a major turn-off for me.

I've been wearing glasses for about 10 or 11 years now. I didn't really need to wear them at first, but I wore them all the time. Now, I'm as blind as a bat and need them to see pretty much anything that's beyond arms reach clearly.

Yes, and have worn glasses for... over 25 years.

I am too eye-ball squeamish for contact lenses. I did consider investigating lasik or the like, although I know that some people cannot be helped that way. Then I saw how it was done - forget about it, I'd need a general anaesthetic to do that.

Without my glasses, I can't see a fucking thing. Buying them is the crappiest chore to have to do, my least favourite thing.

But mostly, I don't notice that I'm even wearing them. It's really common (not that I care about that, I like seeing too much) and no big deal.

Wearing glasses. No offense, but you might want to expand your vocabulary.
well unless you wear glasses or are really close to sombody who does where would you have ever heard that term before I haven't I know tones of people who wear glasses even close friends. Your volcabulary is a subjective thing that is strongly based on your experiances if you never hear a word being used your not going to know what it means..

It's interesting to see how many people actually need these things, though I guess in a community of gamers it is kind of expected what with all of the staring at screens. I've somehow managed to maintain fairly good eyesight despite the shit eyesight of everyone in my family, the staring at screens and on repeat occasions having to pick fibreglass out of my eyeballs...them metal grinders can be a bugger sometimes - the damn sparks always seem to find a way to sneak behind the safety glasses.

I'm colourblind though...so I guess that's something.

If you can see the circle, you're probably not.

Yes, much to my constant dismay.

Been wearing them for almost 8 years.

Not a day goes by without either wanting to smash them to pieces or wishing I had the money to get surgery.

I wear glasses, sadly. I've had them about 5-6 years I think.

I have nothing against people who wear them, honestly they're probably fine. But me personally, I can't stand wearing them. Dx They always get in my way, I have to keep cleaning all the time. I don't see an upside to wearing them at all.

I'd wear contacts but I hate putting things in my eye, and I'm worried I'd fall asleep with them in and have to get them surgically removed. ¬_¬

I'm just waiting until the day I can afford Lazer Eye Surgery. I know it's not the safest option, but I'd rather try it then be stuck with glasses forever.

I wear glasses when I play, because with contacts on it hurts my eyes after a half an hour or so of looking at the screen. That doesn't happen with glasses. When I go out, I really don't care if I wear contacts or glasses.

Been using glasses since I was 16, so for seven years now.
At the end I could not read the blackboard properly so I had to get a pair, and contacts was too much of an annoyance to put it and take out.
It was very expected that my eyesight would deteriorate like it did, my whole family and relatives have bad eyesight so it was just a matter of time!

I like to pretend they raise my intelligence (at least look-wise =P) while I wear them.

13 years with glasses and I'm never going back!
sure, I could afford the surgery to get rid of them and I only have to use glasses so that my eyesight don't get any worse, I can still see without them well enough even though I eventually get a headache.
but in the end I like my glasses, I think I look better with them than without them and think of them more like an accessory, a piece of jewelry, and I got several pairs for different occations, to mix and match with different clothing and styles.
