Nope. I went to a Church of England Primary school, where they force religion onto you from your first year onwards. I just thought it sounded weird. Then I read up on science. And it explained everything a lot better than the vicar did.
To quote Doug Stanhope:
"They shouldn't teach you religion until you're eighteen years old, it'd be a whole different world. If they weren't pushing it into your head while it was still soft you'd never buy it."
If you really believe death leads to eternal bliss, why are you wearing a seatbelt?
Same here really, except it was a Catholic primary and Secondary :/ Nothing will make you an atheist faster than forced religion.
Can't understand it personally, there is no evidence for any of the stuff the Bible claims.
Its simple: you expect me to believe there is a "man" sitting in the clouds watching over us, who made everything in the universe and is the reason for all life everywhere? He sent down his son to "die for our sins" Really? And he could cure people of all illnesses just by touching them? And he came back from the dead!? Sounds cool: What evidence do you have for it? That book huh? No outside sources or historical evidence that this "Jesus" fella, let alone his "father", even existed? Interesting... (rings for the guys in straight jackets)
I used to be someone who believed in allowing everyone the freedom of religion. But I don't anymore: religion holds back the people of this earth, its a form of mass delusion that cannot be conductive to the advancement of the species. Whats the difference between a "cult" and all the major religions? Number of followers. Thats it.
I think the encyclopedia dramatica summed it up brilliantly, look up "God" and one of the descriptions says "Santa Claus for adults"
