I heard a friend talking about this before and i wondered too, what was your favorite time period in Warcraft?

Wrath, I only joined towards the end of TBC, but I like Wrath because it's more acessable, things are more balanced, more to do with each class.

Although people complained it ws too easy, most who complain about it being easy also claim to have stopped playing because it's too easy, and haven't raided the heroic content.

It's hard to say, I've been playing since release almost. I have enjoyed most of my time in WoW, regardless of expansion. I voted for Vanilla just beacuse I seem to have the most fond memories of that time, but I have enjoyed the game in all it's pieces and will undoubtedly enjoy my time come Cata.

BC

It required people to do work on their characters. At least up until the end when it started going down the casual hill.

I loved all of them tremendously, but BC takes the cake. I just preffered it's art style in dungeons over WotLK more, and I really enjoy re-doing their raids at lvl 80 much more than any other raids.

Well I loved questing in stv during the burning crusade.( I don't know if it is still the PvP fest it was) but my favourite quest is from Wotlk when you use the phase system and go into underworld with Jaina Proudmoore and the King of Stormwind.

The best time is whenever you join...when the world is completely new.

For gameplay, Wrath wins, but for me personally, my best time is vanilla *just* before TBC went live, because that's when I was new.

Wrath. I love that I can actually gear up my characters now, instead of being laughed out of dungeons. Which have the gear I need to to get into said dungeons. Seriously, fuck the cycle.

I can't wait until the Cataclysm, though.

This is a dual edged answer me for. I greatly enjoyed the "new smell" Azeroth had during vanilla, but the effort gone into making interesting epic quests from Wrath on just cannot be beat.

It's a crazy improvement.

While BC and Lich King both were great and offered much in improvement from the original or "Vanilla" version, I would say that I enjoyed that time the most.

However this is heavily influenced by me missing the days of hilarity in MC. None of my recent guilds (in the past 2 expansions) have hit that level of friendship and fun.

All I can hope is that Cata will topple Vanilla in my eyes and be my new favorite.

I vote for Burning Crusade era, I really liked classic dungeons because they were mostly non-linear but BC was really colorfull in ALL aspects of the game.

Have you played the beta?
That and looked at all the fourms for the other classes *have an 80 lock warrior and rouge* and to me at least looks like there talking all the skill out of it all the passives and only 31 skill points per 85 lvls W.T.F.

What? You mean how their making it so you can be dedicated to one spec and reap the rewards? Or how their increasing the variety through leveling up?

I don't get what you're complaining about?

For me it was The Burning Crusade Expansion. While I agree that the Classic Vanilla Days was the Golden Age of WoW, unfortunately for me I started playing WoW in 2006 and I got only 6 months of playing in those awesome old days.

Then in January 2007 TBC was released and I started going Hardcore Raiding with a guild which was almost all composed of IRL friends. Having 10+ IRL friends with whom to play was awesome and that's pretty much the only reason why I'm so fond of those memories, because now only 3 or 4 of us still remain, the rest of them got married. lol :)

Classic WoW is my favorite period of WoW. It's pure nostalgia; experiencing Azeroth with fresh, inexperienced eyes is one of my all-time favorite gaming memories. Even so, Blizzard has only improved with their questing/zone design, and I've had the most fun with Wrath's questchains. I'm really looking forward to see what they come up with for Cataclysm.
