Actually, Phenomic for some reason is totally in charge of electronic releases and EA only the distributing mechanism.

I'm kinda surprised at all this. When I worked on the payment system for this thing, I rarely talked to an EA person. Phenomic told me with confidence that EA had little to do with the game itself and how it was going to work from region to region. And now all you are talking to is EA people and no one from Phenomic about a region to region issue (as well as DVD vs Internet download)?

Something's not right there. I'm calling shinanegans on Phenomic and slapping EA's wrists. Apparently, EA is covering for Phenomic. Send your bears at both - they literally worked a number on you there. In fact, send polar bears with laser eyes. Or nuclear badgers.

See, this is why piracy is growing strong.

Developers screw their customers over? People are vengeful, they won't buy your games.

Pirate it. EA doesn't deserve fuck all of the money Russian consumers are paying, and it's just a wiser idea to get the us/European versions.

Or, you can send nuclear badgers and polar bears with laser eyes and mounted turrets!

In all seriousness though, that is kind of awkward, but then again, this is almost the same exact story with the Orange Box PS3 thing.

The real is problem is that EA stated that the battleforge copies they sell in russia, will have 4 decks and 2000 BF points (not 3000). Damn, they even have a printed manual in russian, saying it should be 64 cards in the game.

But when you buy the game, you get only one deck and no one in EA really said anything about that o_O

should they really want to sell a "light" version of the Battleforge, they must have written this on the boxes, that you wont get 4 decks, but 1 or 2 or 65536 etc and offer all the 4 decks for a higher price. But the way EA sells their game is just retarded. It seems to me that, in fact, someone in EA made a huge mistake (something about giving out the decks for the russian release) in programming or PR and EA just doesnt want to take the responsibility for this, but just makes money.

2 j-e-f-f-e-r-s: nice one :DDD

I'm indifferent. I really don't care.
When EA will come to your home and ravage your land you will care, but it will be too late :)

In Soviet Russia, EA pirates you.
I know it's already been said, but seriously, this was freaking hilarious.

And screw EA. I wouldn't touch their stuff with a ten foot poll.

edit: is there like...a Russian version of the Better Business Bureau? If they printed something on the back of their boxes and didn't deliver, then said that they weren't going to fix the problem, then yeah...suing them seems right.

I noticed that one of the guys who says he's an EA employee working on the forums is actually a Phonemic guy. I know it is, because he's one of my contacts.

God damn it, Phonemic - stop hiding behind EA. God damn it, EA - pay what you owe. PAY WHAT YOU OWE!!!

Yea EA sucks ass alright, though considering Russians general lack of remorse for the crimes of the Soviet government (Stalin, Holodomor, Gulag etc.) i find it hard to feel sorry for you. Yes i know those things have nothing to do with your video game or EA or whatever but it's just what i think. Perhaps this is just EA punishing you for being Russain, lol.
Woah, mate. You have no idea what you are talking about, so, please, be careful with what you say, kay? Thanks.

I doubt EA's motivation is socio-political in nature.

That's EA for you, they mess up everything. Luckily I realized this a long time ago and stoped buying any EA goods whatsoever.
Well, yeah. But I really like the games EA publishes. it's almost impossible to not play Dead Space, C&C, Spore etc. And BattleForge is really, really good.
I may check it out. Is it an online only game? Is it at all similar to Magic the Gathering or any of the other trading card games? I'm assuming cards are involved because you mentioned decks, but correct me if I'm wrong here.

Yeah, it's online only. It's kind of a mix of an RTS and a collectible card game. You construct you deck, consisting of cards that summon creatures, spells and buildings (support structures, like towers). You can PvP, or PvE with other players.
