Getting a trimmed down version of the game does sound reasonable. You get it at a much cheaper price and if EA want's to do that by saving up on decks... uh well.
What is outraging is that noone said anything about it beforehand, and that you can get a full version, for the same price with an online purchase. That's just a real bad way of handling it and it's no wonder they upset people by it.
Sympathies.

Kinda pissed myself that it's $49 in US and ?49 in EU. And there was no chance for me to get the US version at all. Did try it, heh...

Oh and yes, it is an online game. But there's a series of solo missions, haven't ventured into the multiplayer part because... well I just stink at RTS.

Is my english that bad? ;)
Your English is extraordinary my friend, much better than mine I've gotta' say.

Oh and yeah, thats total bull. Don't you get to take it back and get your money?
Thanks, mate :) Well, yeah. I'm going to return my copy of the game to the shop I purchased it form.

Yeah, this is plain stupid - $49 is no way near €49, and for some reason americans don't get 3 or 2 decks for paying less that europeans. And russians do.

^Hell ya, thats what I voted for.

Yeah, it's online only. It's kind of a mix of an RTS and a collectible card game. You construct you deck, consisting of cards that summon creatures, spells and buildings (support structures, like towers). You can PvP, or PvE with other players.
It sounds really fun. I've always been a fan of both card and RTS games.

Next game by EA:
FIFA2010. Now 6 players in team! Cheaper than in Europe! (Special edition for poor russian bearriders and vodkadrinkers)

Russian forums named this massive fraud "Half of Azeroth by Electronic Arts".

It grieves me. The game is really great.

I was honestly thrilled about this game, the way the game-play was in the trial. I was limited to the Nature deck but it was thrilling and engaging and had a twist I could have gotten used to in an RTS.

However, reading this I am a little more apprehensive and also very glad I never went though with buying it.(I was leery of buying it due to the whole Micro-transaction to get better cards, etc).

Edit: Forgot to write that I hope it all works out in the end, I honestly hope it does. No reason they should have the power to take away what you should have gotten after you had already bought it and found the missing( and promised) items.

Thank you for your support :)
This may sound way too strange for a person who got ripped off and complains about it here, but... Buy the game, mate. If you liked the trial, buy it, it's really great and fun to play. And Phenomic who developed the game, has nothing to do with EA's fascist policies. At least I wish to believe it is so.

Yeah, I understand the joy present you have for it, I just don't know on buying it. It would be a good distraction, but I honestly would love an offline/lan component where you could PvE your way for cards instead of purchasing them. Wouldn't be able to play them online, but having a good game in which I could enjoy with a friend or do a direct connect with a friend would be more enjoyable for me.

Then having the cards become secondary, i.e. if you don't want to spend X hours doing PvE for cards you can do a purchase for booster decks.

Plus. I am currently awaiting Demigod to give me my RTS fix(I hope), for now.

Well, I actually didn't spend a kopeyka (it's like a cent for rubles:) ) on buying new cards. I formed my deck with the 2000 points given to me in the beggining.

Well that's nice to know, I just am a little still unsure about it. Maybe when it drops in price and I can convince some friends to give it a shot, i'll play, but until then i'll keep it locked away as a "Give it another try" game. Which is far better than my response to such games as EQ, Dark Messiah, and various other games that were touted as good, but I hated. :p

Well it's a dick move to do something like that unannounced, and I understand why someone would be upset about it. However, when I look past that fact, it looks like a pretty decent deal. Sure you get less decks, but you pay almost half the price other people pay (50 euro's here in Holland). But it's still stupid to pull something without telling anyone. You're also right about the difference between the euro and the dollar, it's cheaper for the Americans but they get the same content as us euro-users. I never got that. Probably worse for Aussies though.

Ya know you can always attack EA's HQ with bears.... just saying.
Seriously EA has screwed over a few people in the past.
e.g command and conquer genrals.
Although a decent game , can even be considered great EA screwed it up because well it didnt feel like command and conquer.

So yea attacth jetpacks to your bears and well nuklear warfare will become redundant.

If EA would give people who pay less than the US gets a stripped version of the game, then the door should swing the other way as well. In Sweden we pay up to 40% more to what the game costs in the US and we do not get 40% more content than the US - fact is - when it comes to a lot of Collectors Edition games - we pay more than everyone else and we get LESS [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.84438].

Fuck EA. Bumrape them with a fucking bear, no lube.

Aren't we all used to americans getting special treatment? $60 amounts to about 300 danish kroners. We pay 550 kroners for a new console game, and that amounts to $110. So, we have to pay almost double as much as the hamburger munchers. Go and tell me that's fair...

EA are just trying to find a plot for Red Alert 4.
Yeah, EA is a big jerk anyway.

EA is just mad because they believe in the stereotype of cyber criminals being ex KGB operatives, so now they are taking it out on your country.

The problem is - EA doesn't care about their reputation. They just make money. And as long as they're still able to make money, being such jerks, nothing will change.
2The_General - Dude, I'm not used to it. Americans are getting more game content and cheaper games... BTW, have you seen US PSN store?

Actually, Phenomic for some reason is totally in charge of electronic releases and EA only the distributing mechanism.

I'm kinda surprised at all this. When I worked on the payment system for this thing, I rarely talked to an EA person. Phenomic told me with confidence that EA had little to do with the game itself and how it was going to work from region to region. And now all you are talking to is EA people and no one from Phenomic about a region to region issue (as well as DVD vs Internet download)?

Something's not right there. I'm calling shinanegans on Phenomic and slapping EA's wrists. Apparently, EA is covering for Phenomic. Send your bears at both - they literally worked a number on you there. In fact, send polar bears with laser eyes. Or nuclear badgers.
Nuclear honey badgers...
