I was just wondering what you think the best stealth game is. I may not have added games such as alpha protocol the agent or the agency because they are not out yet (or at least when I made this thread).
Of the ones on your list though, it would have to be the early Splinter Cell games, because they're the only ones that you can't just wing as an action game.
Definitely MGS for me, not counting 4. Batman has too many gimmicks for it to be pure stealth for me (Gargoyle hopping notably. Considering it always works when they aren't trapped) And I haven't gotten around to playing Splinter Cell or Thief.
I voted other, since I prefer Hitman or Thief to the ones on the poll. Thief is my favourite though
I can't really think of another stealth game with bow and arrow rather than gun (I hope I don't think of one right after I post...)
The only game so far to have done true stealth correctly (ie. functions) while being fun as heck:
Stealth, as in 'enemy doesn't know anyone visited until the next morning when lights come on (if even then), and they can never point the finger at you with any kind of evidence'- stealth.
Not stealth as in 'sneak into a corner in a room filled with enemies, then slaughter them all' -wannabestealth.
