I'm one of those guys who liked Bioshock 2, even thou the story wasn't as good as the first one.

If B3 happens i think you be a big sister

No. while Bioshock 2 was good, it wasn't as good as the first.
And besides, by the end of the second game,
pretty much all of Rapture has been blown up and wiped off of the ocean floor.
that is quite wrong sir, only one part of rapture got blown up. i dont think they can get that many TNT to blow up the entire place anyway.
Indeed, I had been corrected by this once already.
But, as I said, the way Jack and Project Delta are going, if any more games were made, both the inside and outside of Rapture would be utterly destroyed.

Enough, Bioshock 2 was too much, but it worth it, they saw they can't make game as good as original and that should be their lesson.

While I think there's plenty of room for new stories in Rapture, I don't think they should make an outright BioShock 3.

How about playing as Eleanor in her Big Sister form? There could be a feature where instead of using the Sisters to gather ADAM, you gather it yourself, but then a shitload of Splicers run after you for a while. Or you could have animated finishers, or being able to do the walljump move the other Big Sisters do.

Bioshock 2 wasn't necessary. Unless they could finally balance things out instead of having even the hardest difficulty being a walk in the park, there's no real point to it.

Even though the second one kind of sucked I think they could make the third one good.

If it's a prequel, they're in for a challenge. As someone pointed out, we already have the Civil War going on in terms of B2's MP. Any time before that will be relatively... tame. There weren't even Big Daddies in normal production yet. Take Big Daddies away and you're already losing an icon.

If it takes place before B2, then the actions of the PC are gonna seem insignificant by the time of Delta's turn in the seat. Even if it were to take place on the other side of Rapture. News travels fast.

Even doing a sequel will be somewhat challenging. The only reason Delta survived is because he's a Big Daddy prototype. He has somewhat better resistances than Jack and can use Plasmid/weapon combos. Also remember that Jack would be pretty screwed if he showed up during Delta's run, due to how powerful the Splicers have gotten(which explains why Delta takes so much freakin' damage). That would entail needing a stronger protagonist by the time of B3.

So... 2K has kind of painted themselves into a corner.

No, as much as I liked the first one, the second one wasn't as good(I liked it but still...) and I don't think that a third one wouldn't be any better, not even in a prequel beacause as some have already stated; we already know what happens making it pointless to just play through events that have already been explained.I'm happy with just having Bioshock and a good(albeit not great) follow up to it.

Ah yes, Bioshock 3, the adventure through Andrew Ryan's secret underwear drawer.

I found Bioshock 2 somehow lacking compared to 1, not sure why, so I imagine I would find 3 to be even worse.

Ok, let me get this straight - because a sequel was bad, you want them to abandon a whole universe & series filled with awesome?

No games would ever have more than one sequel then.

But, truthfully, more BioShock is good BioShock. I don't care what you play as, I'd just like to see more of Rapture.

Perhaps going back there as part of a modern-day military operation to repair the place? You never know, with this new craze of modern warfare shooters.

Then having a wrench would make more sense. Can't repair anything without one o' those.

The biggest problem is that Bioshock thrived on its atmosphere more than anything else. It felt fresh, so it worked. The sequel merely copied the same atmosphere, only it doesn't feel so fresh the second time around.

My personal opinion for a 3rd game take place after the second one,

Playing as Big Sister Eleanor, with an ambiguous "moral" decision from the second game, on the surface. Take over the town? Rehabilitate the little sisters? Start collecting your own? It almost sounds like a sandbox (which would be terrible)

However, along with the time period/setting, there must be a new extremist political system, too. 1st was anarchist-capitalism and the 2nd was a suicidial-communist-cult. Which one would be used?

I cannot see Bioshock 3 not featuring a group/goverment discovering Rapture. Unless it's set in the past and all clean and beautiful(With the ugliness being the condition of humanity in Rapture)

We had the Leader/God King of Rapture
We had the inner Worms
Now the Outsiders??

Just hope they don't think up something stupid and opposite just because the protagonists of Bioshock 1/2 were opposites(Although Jack was more likeable)

Yes, most definitely. But only when it's a prequel. I really really really want to see Rapture in all it's art deco glory and slowly see it crumble because of Atlas' gang and the following civil war.

A new BioShock game should revolve around those 2 things; the rise of Atlas and the civil war. I also propose a couple of gameplay changes:
- Give us back the free-roaming we had in BioShock 1, only now with an actual reason to go back to the previous areas.
- That reason would be a more open system. As you now work for Atlas' guerilla gang, you do missions for them. As Atlas rises, Rapture slowly degenerates, areas change and new missions unlock in every area.
- This also means that Rapture would be more alive than ever. Regular folks walking around, going around their daily business; the city would be truly alive. Of course, as the game progresses, things get worse; more and more people splice up, random splicer attacks, robberies, all that sort of thing.
- Missions should be doable any way you like; stealthy, explosions, just lots of guns, etc, but that choice should be made purely on personal preference.
- No more Little Sisters as morality choice, missions should have some.
- No more Little Sister farming for Adam. I'm cool with Adam, afterall you still need to splice up, (and thus you see not only Rapture go to hell, but yourself as well) but let it be a reward from those missions.
- Give us back the tinkering system from the first game, but now add some Fallout 3-ish plans for new tools and weapons. Give us more reasons to use certain weapons for certain situations.
- Your character should be a disgruntled worker-class guy (or girl I don't care) who came to Rapture with high hopes, only to have them shattered. He sees new hope in Atlas and joins up with his gang. Lots of characters we know from audiotapes could be woven in, think the police commissionaire, Diane McClintock (or something like that, Ryan's former mistress), all those people affiliated with Atlas. At one point you'll find out who Atlas really is and what his plans are and the choices you made in the game would decide if you would share the fate of McClintock or escape. Of course you won't be able to stop him outright, retcon's are meeh.

That's pretty much it in broad lines.
I think it's safe to say that 2K wherever isn't going to change up the formula that drastically seeing as how its the third (and most likely last) game in the franchise, which means they'll probably just shit out something more or less the same. I wouldn't expect anything different than the linear, first-person shooter with the art deco and other defining elements.

OP: I'd love to see them add more interactions with real people. The closest we got to this was in the sequel where we got to talk, face-to-face with the black lady and the slimy guy (can't remember names) and I liked that way better than the first.
