Ah, Burgers. The stereotypical American food that is actually eaten less than the foreigners think.
So, what kind of patty do you like on a burger?

I like a thin sausage-ground beef patty.

I voted bacon.

I like thin, I like thick, it's all good.

Now I'm hungry.

Thin. I want to be able to fit it into my mouth.

Also, I strongly suspect this thread will be overflowing with "that's what she said!"

I guess it depends. If it's really good meat I like it thick, if not I prefer it thin.

Thick tends to be made out of real meat, while thin tends to be the shitty Mcdonalds stuff. So thick.

You really put your foot in it there...

OK, so what's a patty? Explain to the poor British man. I've never had one on a burger before.

Thick burgers all the way, BTW. Lots of chopped onion in them.

I think the patty is the meat.
Edit: poiumpty explained it better than me.

Depends how good the meat is. At McDonalds i'd prefer a thin burger or else it'd be a bit icky.

At some posh restaurant though i'd want a big chunky burger full of tastiness!

I like thin burger, with bacon on it. In fact, here's a basic diagram of my perfect burger...

Sesame Seed Cob (Top Half).
Barbeque Sauce.
Bacon (as crispy as possible, to add crunch).
Thin Burger (a Quarter Pounder burger is a completely different matter).
Lettuce.
Mayonesse.
Sesame Seed Cob (Bottom Half).

That's from top to bottom people, and it is delicious.

I don't much care for chunky ground beef, so if the beef in the burger is fine than thick works for me. If not, thin is the way to go.

Either one is good with bacon.

patty is what we Americans call the burger itself the meat not the whole thing just the meat. thick burgers for me gotta love the most you can get. strangely the best burger i had was in London but i just can't for the life of me remember the name, and i don't think it was that Gourmet Burger Kitchen.

Whoever thought adding Bacon to a Burger would be a good idea deserves a Nobel Prize.

Thin usually, because it's less shit for you and you can usually make them taste better with spices etc.

I don't really like burgers all that much. Probably because that's all my dad would cook last summer. He's still got the cooking skills of a bachelor, even though he's married.
