Definitely thick. Then you just need to add some smokey bacon, fried onions, beefsteak tomatoes, habanero barbecue sauce and dill relish all on a toasted bun to create the ultimate food. A thin burger would just be overpowered by the other flavors.

i like thick burgers because i like my burger with just meat, cheese and of course bacon. the only condiments i want on them is either steak sauce, tobasco, or bbq sauce.

One Thick Burger > Two Thin Burgers. However, this requires that the beef be good. Coming from a farmer and a chef there is a reason good ingredients cost more. Put crap in, get crap out.

Thin. I want to be able to fit it into my mouth.

Also, I strongly suspect this thread will be overflowing with "that's what she said!"

Wow, I'm the only person so far who hates burgers. Mostly due to the fact that I tend to eat beef lightly cooked, and that's something that's not recommended with hamburgers. Big red flag as to what they put in there...

Thick, because there's a better chance it's stuffed with something delicious. That, and Ranch Burgers are no good thin.

I personally prefer burgers that are thick and juicy with mild cheddar cheese, a little mayo, lettuces, and white and purple onions or Swiss cheese with white onions, mushrooms, and mayo on a wheat or sesame seed bun ^___^ All good stuff

Burgers are prepared according to how much meat they have.
3/8th's, one quarter, and a half pound are the most common.
As A Texan my burgers MUST be prepared with 73% lean meat, two half pound patties, two slices of cheese, 8 strips of bacon, and cooked to medium rare.

I like mine with lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes, a Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer.

I like them thin, like in the McDonalds.

Not much meat in them, but I don't care the SLIGHTEST!

Depends on the size(wide), shape, and if its being stacked.

I like one of these every so often, but not too often, as I like blood flowing through my arteries.

These I eat more often, but still not that often.

I like to challenge the common view of the "over-weight" American by not eating like this everyday.

Ah, Burgers. The stereotypical American foot that is actually eaten less than the foreigners think.
So, what kind of patty do you like on a burger?

I like a thin sausage-ground beef patty.
This isnt some kinda gay joke is it

Kinda on the thin side, or however In-N-Out makes them...
Most mainstream places use fairly thin patties. I prefer two thin patties to one large one, the thinner patties cook more evenly. I also love cheeseburgers, especially bacon cheeseburgers. So delicious. I probably have about 2-3 a month. OM NOM NOM.

I love me a thick medium rare burger.

home-made burgers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> store bought >>>>>>>>>>>>>> burger joint

nothing beats a good home-made burger with random goodness cooked inside the burger: bacon, grilled onion, vienna sausage, pizza bagel, a thin burger patty that was cooked earlier (the burger-burger), Maruchan instant noodles, quesadilla (the inside-out burger), anything that can fit inside the burger really.

you will be surprised by what is good.

stop looking at me like that.

I'm not crazy.

[edit]

that's odd, my first post didn't post (I refreshed and even re-entered the forum) so I re-typed it, and now both are here ><)
