Thick. Yes, thick. A&W thick.

I like having a lot of meat. When I eat a burger, I want to be overwhelmed by the flavour of it and nice and full when it is done.

Depends how good the meat is. At McDonalds i'd prefer a thin burger or else it'd be a bit icky.

At some posh restaurant though i'd want a big chunky burger full of tastiness!
Thoroughly agree. Add bacon though and it's a great combination either way. Allergic to onions, but with the works otherwise. Dang it...now I'm craving a burger....at 3am....grrr.

Massive burgers FTW! Chicken and Bacon work well, with lots of salad on it too. If it's an open burger even better.

i could care less about thick or thinness.

i mean i am the type of picky eater who asks the people at mcDonalds to put the meat on the side when i order a big mac so the cheese does not melt. and then eat them by themselves dipped in honey.

Burgers are prepared according to how much meat they have.
3/8th's, one quarter, and a half pound are the most common.
As A Texan my burgers MUST be prepared with 73% lean meat, two half pound patties, two slices of cheese, 8 strips of bacon, and cooked to medium rare.
Yum Artery Clogging goodness
Day-um. I'm hungry again now.

OT: Thick, with a metric ton of cheese and bacon

Give me at least a 1/2 pound patty, with some bacon, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatos, buttered buns, some mayo and ketchup. Oh, and cooked medium rare
That people, is the definition of a textbook "amazing hamburger"

Less than foreigners think? Just how many burgers do foreigners think we eat? Because I bet it's nothing compared to the number of burgers I ACTUALLY eat. I'm a glutton for them!

I'll buy a pound of ground beef and cook it all at once in two thick, delicious half-pound patties with provolone cheese, pickles, and BBQ sauce. Bacon? Save that for fast-food joints. Homemade burgers cook too fast to get bacon going. I tend to cook them for maybe 90 seconds, max.

FYI---I'm 5'11, athletic build, and weigh 177 pounds. So yeah. Fat American, my ass (which my girl complains I don't have.)

Wow, I'm the only person so far who hates burgers. Mostly due to the fact that I tend to eat beef lightly cooked, and that's something that's not recommended with hamburgers. Big red flag as to what they put in there...
It is possible to have a rare burger that's pretty safe to eat, but it's a lot more work. You have to start with non-ground beef, sear the outside, grind it yourself, and then cook it right away. Either that or irradiate it (which is less practical but more fun, because that lets you get away with things like rare pork if you really want...).

Gotta go with thick, especially handmade ones with onions and worstershire sauce in with the patty.
And just so I can have the epic TWSS joke, I love thick meat between in my bun ^o^
