They both suck, but I`d rather get a multiplatform game.
Why? multiformat games are one of the worst things to happen to gaming.
No, you're thinking of ports. Ports are stupid, but multiplatform is great because it doesn't favor a particular console and people that are interested in a title don't feel like they're being left out if they have the "wrong" console.
While i agree somewhat with that, at the same time, you cant deny that all great games (with a few exeptions) of the past 10 ish years, since multiformat games have been possible due to all consoles having a similar disk based media, all the truly great games have been console exclusives, or timed exclusives (Halo : CE, MGS (all 4) GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas, Bioshock etc)

Multiplatform games limit games. Look at Rage for example. Made for PC, PS3 and 360, but because of the 360 it's had 2/3rds cut out of it.
Very quick search on Wikipedia revealed to me that Rage is being done across two 360, Mac AND PC discs, where as it will be kept on a single blu-ray disc for PS3.

So it isn't just the 360 holding it back.

There's also normally other reasons other than disc limitations when it comes to game development.

Usually cuts in the story, after writers and editors have gone through it, cause a game's length to be shortened. Metal Gear Solid 4 had the issue of not having mentioned editors. :p

Sometimes it's due to time constraints. Look at the original release of Fable, how badly cut down that was compared to the 'Lost Chapters' version.

Get Killzone 2. The single player and the multiplayer is better (and much more rewarding) in that game than in WaW.

Well to include timed exclusives (Or, in other words, games which were later ported to other consoles) opens up a much broader list. Halo eventually went to PC, the Metal Gear Series, aside from the latest one, all ended up on at least the PC, with the second and possibly the third going to XBox too, the GTA series as a whole has gone from its home format to at least the PC, and Bioshock went to PC.

So in reality, you've only listed one actual exclusive there... And Metal Gear Solid 4 wasn't all that good of a game.

I would say Half Life, but I know that has had PS2 releases, with the others getting 360 and PS3 releases. Timed exclusives shouldn't be counted as exclusives.

Conversely: Fable is quite all around a bad game, despite being originally exclusive to the XBox. Fable 2 had very similar issues.

Not all exclusive games are immediately better than those intended for distribution across multiple consoles. One example, the Orange Box. All three new games on there (Team Fortress 2, Portal and HL2:Ep2 came out on 360 at the same time as the PC version, and the PS3 one I believe was delayed for a short while. All three games were great.

save your 60 bucks, buy a large knife, and impale your foot to the floor. you've just experienced playing either game.

You shouldn't hit yourself repeatedly with the controller while you play games you know.

Both are terrible in my view, but it depends on what you like not others.

If you like WW2 shooters, go with COD:WaW

Sci-fi then Killzone 2
Quoted for truth, basically what I was I was going to say. I'll elaborate a little more on his points. WaW is more of an arcadey type shooter. You know, run and gun little tactics involved and whatnot. Killzone two is more tactical, but still not brilliantly tactical for an FPS.

Choose CoD:WaW if you want an arcadey WWII shooter. Choose Killzone 2 if you want a more realistic Sci-fi shooter.

Timed exclusives are normally timed so that developers can redo the game to benefit from one or another platform's benefits (eg the xbox port of vice city had better graphics) which eliminates my issue with multiformat games;they can only be as good as the worst system theyre on ( apart from current gen wii/ps2 versions of multiformat games, which are far removed from 360/ps3 versions). Also only mgs1 and the remake of 2 were multiformat; mgs3 and its reissue were ps2 only.
As for MGS4 not being all that good a game? Well personally i strongly disagree; even if you dont like it, you have to admit its a landmark piece of gaming; all the awards from Ign, gamespot, even MTV make it a pretty widely renowned game.
Of course some exclusive games are trash (Fable, as you pointed out)
but these games are the ones that sell systems, and if all games were multiformat, eventually people would all just get the cheapest system, so we'd all be left with that, in theory.

I'll let you guys know in about a week. Since my Xbox bricked and there appears to be no free replacement for me, my four hundred bucks are going to pay for a PS3 for the time being rather than a replacement XBox.

DVD can actually go up to 15gb. Besides MS would have tweaked the Xbox DVD between DVD and HDDVD's releases. Besides, I don't think even MMO's go much higher than 8gb anyway.

I haven't heard of ID in a while. Aren't they making a new Quake Wars or something? Anyway, I'm sure they hire the best talent out there, but in terms of experience, I highly doubt that they have the same exact staff from when the original Quake came out. Technology isn't about experience either. If you look at Unreal technology, the rate at which their engine advances is staggering, and that's because of $. More money, more investment, more of it in the tech, show it off, more investment= more money. Rinse and repeat.
Most of the core staff at iD has been around since Doom. A few joined later on, and a few people left over the years, but overall the organization has seen very little turnover.

Your not going to get a clear answer here as everyone is biased. I can guarantee that half the comments here made by people havent played the game. They are 2 games which the gaming community dont like much. Anyway I enjoyed both games, KZ2 is far better though.. good variety through the levels and I really havent put it down since ive started playing (multi and a bit of single)

But its down to personal opinion, WaW has co-op and nazi zombie features and stuff. KZ2 has visuals, good single and excellent multiplayer.

You don't have to, they both do that for you. Saves a lot of time and effort in my opinion.

Get CoD4. Multiplayer is frustrating because of 'nades, but every multiplay has its quirks, and this is CoD4's only down.

I've gotta say, owning both, you should go with Killzone. If your a fan of CoD, WaW will only seem underwhelming after the awesomeness that was Modern Warfare, whereas Killzone only kept surprising me. Killzone 2 is the choice you should make.

It depends on the pacing that you prefer. CoD is fast-paced but its not as fast as s... ay UT while Killzone 2 occupies the space in between CoD and Rainbow Six/GRAW.

It also depends on what is more important to you as far as game modes. If you prefer single-player I would go with Killzone 2. If Co-op is your thing than CoD is the obvious choice. And if multiplayer is your thing than it goes back to the pacing you would prefer.
